Wow, these are both excellent. Great versatility to give to Trinket Mage (like it needed any more).
Also, gotta love the combo with Cogwork Assembler: a mere 14 mana to destroy any permanent! (Actually, if you're tricky, you can spread it out over two turns by activating EOT.)
I like how Universal Solvent is an Improvise mana-rock early, and a, well, universal removal spell (which also triggers Revolt) late. Nice design, really cool name.

If it's really universal solvent, how can it be contained in whatever she's using? Flavor fail Wizards, should call it Almost-Universal Solvent.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
Mechanized Production approves of Efficient Construction. Where is our W Consulate Bureaucrat which taps other creatures or Consulate Mid-Level Manager which makes all spells cost 1 more to cast?
It's good to see Christopher Moeller still holding it down.
I've got nothing against digital paintings at all! It's just cool to see that there are still artists using traditional means for Magic.
Efficient construction is efficient indeed! Lots of EDH decks will use it.

On the reserved list: Wizards won't remove it. Only we can. In other words: Play Modern, Pauper, or No-RL Eternal.
I prefer my weird artifact-based removal mana rock based, but the existence of Universal Solvent just makes me happy in the same weird way as Scour from Existence. This set just continues to knock it out of the park in crazy ways.
I'm really enjoying the fodder they are giving to Salvaging Station recently.
Also, after last set, I was disappointed in the Thopter support they had previously previewed in Origins. Aether Revolt is showing a bit of promise with the 3 Thopter related cards spoiled so far.

Universal solvent: except for that artifacts can tap for improvise on all non artifact spells artifacts:Nope I just going to stick with spine of ish sah and lux cannon
Efficient Construction: ENOUGH WITH THE INCREDIBLE UNCOMMONS THAT SHOULD BE RARE/MYTHIC ALREADY!!!! But I definitely got to get it for my edh decks especially for breya

What if she mixed the ingredients inside that bottle (paying the 7) and is pouring it out quickly enough so it pools into the source and dissolves that? You know, it could need a catalyst or something. Not all exothermic reactions are immediate!
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
Universal solvent: except for that artifacts can tap for improvise on all non artifact spells artifacts:Nope I just going to stick with spine of ish sah and lux cannon
Does it really need stating "New set common doesn't obsolete established mythic and rare"? They seldom do.

I like it better than Lux cannon anyway. Lux cannon is pretty slow. The card is a pet of mine, but it's not good.

Check out the thread for my cube if you have the time, and tell me how terrible it is.
Generals meant to be drafted first in a single pack of 6 cards.
And here is the actual cube, meant to be drafted in 4 regular sized packs. (60 card decks)

The art is cool, too. Looks like something out of a graphic novel.
Also, woo for EDH!

I still like it, of course, as does Kurkesh.

I'm guessing a Wizard did it.
Maybe it's like containing antimatter, which is possible.
I like both these cards. I'm going to need to build about twenty artifact decks after this.
A universal container?
I am happy with this cog as it works with Salvaging Station

I hope a something serious comes from this combination for the sole purpose of seeing a deck named "Eff'n Mechs."
