Didn't seen a thread, so let it be here.
I'd say something, but I have no words to describe what I feel right now.
...At least, Dominaria was mentioned.
My bet for - Bolas WILL punch Gatewatch to the face in Amonkhet as well, so they WILL listen to Ajani next time and go to Dominaria maybe.
But don't forget, Atlazan was mentioned earlier.
With this story news, I fully expect the Gatewatch to lose on Amonkhet. You don't just walk into your greatest enemy's stronghold and claim victory that easily.
Overall though, I do like the direction the writers are going with the story, introducing old planes into new material, as well as showing the multiverse of MTG in action, like having Rashmi planes walk through the Planar Bridge and Ajani having knowledge of Dominaria (most likely from his travels after Theros).
Hopefully Amonkhet will set up a nice guiding story for defeating Nicol Bolas, or introducing even greater threats that Tezzeret might bring to the story now that HE is a gateway to other planes...

Indeed. After all these (everytime a bit pyrrhic) wins, a true defeat would be nice to see.

He actually was on Dominaria far before., finding Elspeth as a pit fighter in Urborg, before she left to Mirrodin with Venser and Koth.

Maybe Atlazan would be them recuperating after AMONKHET's events.... but until I see it, I do not believe that they'll be defeated by Nicol Bolas. I have this feeling that it might be Nicol Bolas' last block.

I don't like that they are already building up an army of planewalkers to go fight Bolas already. Hopefully Bolas will crush the Gatewatch to show them how arrogant they are. Alsto to avenge the Eldrazi titans because i will forgive Wizards for that
Wonder if Liliana will betray the Gatewatch to Bolas because she's indebted to him? Interesting twist that the Gatewatch is going to go after Bolas head on.
Between Tezzeret wanting the gate and the earlier hint of Vraska planeswalking to nowhere, I'm guessing Atlazan is some kind of "lost plane" that can't be accessed via normal means. Bolas wants whatever's there, so he sent Tezzeret to find a planar gate that could open a path to it.
The idea of a world of fantastic inventions with a repressive government being subverted by an individual who wishes to use these inventions for his own schemes is a great one with a lot of creative space. Too bad they actually used it as a setup for a dumb comic book fight. Curses, Gatewatch! You foiled my schemes! Doesn't look like this is going away any time soon either, as the kiddies seem to love this crap.
I'm sad we're not getting a new planeshifting airship, but Tezzeret as a planar bridge is interesting. It appears he still 'won', or at least accomplished his goals.
It's worth noting that the art book is never the full story, as we've learned several times now.
Ugh, with the direction this game has gone in terms of storyline, art, and gameplay mechanics, I am not excited about a return at all. Dominaria has my fondest memories, I don't want them ruined by the gatewatch.
Maaaaaan. I NEED Bolas to smash the gatewatch to pieces. I am not super annoyed by the formation of the Jacetus league, and kinda feel like it was inevitable that we would get a planeswalker team of some sort eventually. The concern is that they are going off half cocked to take on Nicol freakin' Bolas. Forget for a second that he is one of the most careful planners in the multiverse and likely has an enormous number of traps waiting for any challengers. Forget that he has not only defeated Jace in mental combat before but manipulated him to do his bidding a few times already. Forget that he has been hard at work since the mending to restore as much of his former power (and immortality) as possible and has only been defeated by the one walker of the Gatewatch that we expect to be elsewhere during the events of Amonkhet. He is still as 25,000 year old elder dragon who will break the mind of any member of the gatewatch that he can physically touch. If we don't lose at least one member here I will be disappointed.
Jace would be a good candidate for elimination to create a reason for our first return to a returned plane; the events of Kaladesh could easily have been a manipulation by Bolas to get Jace to come to him so that he could make some move on Ravnica, but with the mysterious planeswalk to nowhere by Vraska I doubt that creative is done with Jace just yet (yay, plot armor).
Gideon would be another good candidate to be destroyed. We already have another white walker on the team and at some point I am certain that Elspeth will sign up. They should want some color balance in the league just for design elements, and how good of a demonstration of the bad guy's power would it be for him to kill the indestructible member of the team?
Liliana would actually be another candidate with a good story setup to be if not actually killed by Bolas, completely changed by emptying her mind and making her a true key/vessel for the return of the Onnake. Maybe Bolas was the Raven Man all along? Unlikely, but his plots could definitely be long enough to have started at the mending- why did he help her gain her immortality after all if he didn't have a plan for her?
I hope so, and with Tezzeret "becoming a bridge in his own right" and "returned to his mysterious masters" he could very well be making an appearance there to compleat a mission begun by the father of machines himself. As much as I love Dominaria, it might be time for them to write it off as a Phyrexian wasteland since they are prolly tired of requests from older players to return to a plane that new players haven't seen much of in almost a decade. Also, I can't be the only one that wants to see a hive of Phyrexian slivers can I?
The events on Kaladesh are what I expected, no surprise there. Tezzeret "becoming the bridge" is a nice touch though, I fully expect something to come of it later.
That said, my dislike of Gideon just came back in full force. I fully wish for this to be the exchange between Ajani and Gideon post Amonkhet:
What exactly does Tezzeret "became the bridge" even mean? o_O

Given the 25th anniversary is coming up, I really hope this storyline comes full circle with Bolas introducing the Gatewatch to New Phyrexia. Using Tezzerat as the bridge, he could bring Phyexia to Dominica again leading to the Gatewatch teaming with the older planeswalkers to defeat Phyexia once and for all. Karn vs Bolas would be something else to see.

I think that is rushing it a bit. More likely for the 30th anniversary.

So in the next block (most likely in Hour of Devestation), we are going to hear Tezzeret say "[a member of Gatewatch], I'm your father"?
Might be just a story art, they tend to make quite a significant number of them now (for Magic Story articles only)...

Not gonna be surprised if he knew via the Story Circle and the depth of it's mysterious members (Tamiyo knew of Serra's Realm even...)
