Just out of curiosity, is Shock considered to be better than Wild Slash? If so, how and/or why? No, I am not being sarcastic--that is a real question I have since I can't tell any difference between the two, other than the fact that the Fate Reforged card has an extra condition applied to it from time to time.

Wild Slash is strictly better. The ability is at worst an add on so as damage can't be prevented. They do the same thing but with Slash's add on makes it better slightly.

Thank you. I thought Slash was better but sometimes people have special tricks or combos of which I am unaware since I am not yet a Modern player. I am working on that but, being truthful, I know that I am not there yet.
Wonderful, thanks! Anyone have any idea what the flavor text says, by any chance?

I was following links off Japanese sites to the Facebook page. Now I'm heading there directly, it looks like it's come from the Taiwan MtG Facebook account, just for the record.
Thought it was a bit weird that the Japanese Facebook page would be spoiling a card clearly in Chinese...
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
RIP Galvanic Bombardment in standard. Though maybe some people will prefer it for the late game? Not me though.
Galvanic Bombardment is vastly superior for most midrange and controlling decks, and will continue to see heavy play in decks that want 1 mana red removal. Shock might see play as well since there are a decent number of creatures that will die to a shock, but three toughness is a pretty important number too.

The more I'm looking at all these great small butt creatures the more I think a combination of both will do great.
of the 37 cards you listed, only 13 are actual burn spells (in that they can burn players). of those 13, only two deal more damage than the mana you put into it (and only when madnessed in the case of fiery temper). Shock is a small step but a big one in the right direction for burn players
before we get cheeky, I'm referring to an instant speed burn effect that I can use to deal 2 damage with no restrictions. You know, "oh you're at 2, K shock you GG". Nice for red to able to you know, do "red" things. Like dome you at instant speed without having to jump through a hoop.

Aww, welcome back Shock, finally a good no-hoops-to-jump proper burn spell (I'm counting creature-only spells as removal, not burn. It's nice to see such a classic card come back, and with better art than the Mr. Teeth version
Wasn't expecting to see this.
Edit: In particular, does anyone have a larger version of this? I can't read the artist credit or card number.
For real magic a reprint of a decent killing spell
This set is getting closer and closer of paring with new phyrexia set of playable cards.
Max Kahn tweeted a bigger version here.

That looks like a lot of Standard-legal burn spells to me. That's not counting all the permanents that provide burn functions, like Thermo-Alchemist, Aethertorch Renegade, Reckless Fireweaver, and Dynavolt Tower. And Aether Revolt will be adding plenty, including Hungry Flames and Shock.
