Started playing since Invasion, stopped at Scourge. Returned briefly during BoK's introduction of ninjas. Finally back into magic during Shadowmoor/Eventide.
Currently Running Bant Control and a homebrew Blightning Echoes for Type 2.
Man, I just wish Yahenni wasn't such a nonbo with Yahenni's Expertise. You either cast Yahenni first and let them die to their own Expertise or you cast the Expertise first and now there's a board full of nothing for Yahenni to grow on and/or sacrifice.
That aside, me likey. Great sac outlet and very nice aggro card, even though it's a shame that it's a somewhat underwhelming Commander (unless someone can prove me wrong). Definitely not what I expected, but that "darling" in the flavor text just makes me giddy inside.
That's what spot removal like Fatal Push is for:
1- Drop Yahenni,
2- Kill stuff and grow Yahenni, Undying Partisan to 4/4,
3- Don't play stuff and let opponent play more creatures in the hopes of chumping,
4- Play Yahenni's Expertise because she got good at it,
5- Kill the other creatures and grow, play Infest variant## (e.g. Flaying Tendrils Definitely not tendrils lol) if necessary or play another hasty 3 drop,
6- Opponent concedes.
7- ???
I don't comment often, but when I do it is cards like these that make me. Sacrifice outlet, hasty beater, grows, has staying power, best friends with Grave Pact effects, excellent general of part of 99 for commander (can't imagine her with Blade of the Bloodchief attached O.o). Also great flavor
5/5

Cult of the Succubi Eating Kitten and Brotherhood of Hamsters - Zombie One/Hulking One - Brotherhood of Hamsters disapproves of Damage on the Stack amputation, the corruption of Mythics, and the "Major changes to Extended" in July 2010. You aborted our cards., but we approve of the Modern format. Even if it doesn't ha ve Carrion Feeder or Caller of the Claw in it.

I think they could make for a pretty interesting commander if you fill the deck with recursive creatures, boardwipes (to take advantage of their indestructibility), and gravepact effects. Great board control deck with a strong finisher. The deck would probably have a lot of issues against U decks though (not a lot of stack interaction in mono B)

Love the flavor. Was curious what was gonna be their abilities after the creature type was revealed. Not disappointed! I think Yahenni is small enough to find a home in some decks. Hopefully...

(Also they/them, not he or her. You know when say, you get an email from an inquiry you sent and you share the info with someone and you say "they said..." because you're not even trying to guess the sender's gender? Yeah, same goes for the aetherborn, who have no gender. (Just for the uninformed, nor everyone has the same resources and access to proper syntax.) But if you feel triggered by education, by all means pm someone who shares in your preference to decide what someone else should go by, but keep it off here.)
I could see this make a new standard deck as a free sac outlet. Zulaport Cutthroat is still around, after all.
Won't be seen in Modern and not a great EDH option. Can be played as an extra sac outlet but usually there are better options.

All these legendaries are making me want to bring back out the Hero's Blade and see what kind of madness equipment can bring. That and the synergies with revolt and counters matter cards make her great.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
This does provide a sac outlet (and I thought they weren't doing free sac outlets anymore since Aristocrats became a thing), but note that you don't get a +1/+1 counter when your guys die. Still benefits from multiplayer in the same way Ishai does, but not easily exploitable. Though, of course, Blade of the Bloodchief grants this particular ability.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

Not sure if this is an auto include. At the end of the day this is a beater with no evasion which seldom have a place in EDH.

Well correct me if wrong but I think you can add a experience counter to meren whenever you wish with yahenni
Like any other sac outlet already in the deck can, sure. But what makes them an "auto-include"? Their other stats are nothing special.
