If I absolutely, positively, must have a dragon then for RR4 (improvise notwithstanding) I will go with the good old-fashioned Shivan Dragon (still Standard-legal thanks to the Welcome Deck), Mirrorwing Dragon, or I will try to surge a Tyrant of Valakut.
I can see it already. This. This is the card I will open at the prerelease. I can just feel it. ugh.
My first association with "Freejam" was the Sonic Youth song "Jams Run Free". Then I clicked the link and discovered that the dragon is every bit as disappointing as the album the song is on. This is the last time I get my hopes up for anything that combines jam and free.

When I hit my 3000 post mark, I'm gone for good.
Stay reasonable, be mindful of your expectations and don't feed the trolls.
I think they were going for "cheaper". If you have enough artifacts as to make Hellkite Igniter's ability equal to this one, this only costs four mana.
That said, when Hellkite Igniter came out, monored had Koth.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
Has the term "hellkite" been retired in favor of "regent"?

you can generally tell the easiest road to victory by how many players congregate on it; and the road of counterspells/control has been the freeway of choice in magic for quite some time.

What I find offensive is not that Wizards is endeavoring to make the game more accessible, but the attitudes of elitists who act as though no one of any age should show their face in the Magic public without first having mastery over the complexities of the game.
I guess next set we will have our bulk phoenix overlord to greet us, since he left his dragonkin progeny in Kaladesh to make sure he burns at least a few people in his fiery wake.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
Amonkhet is the next set so seeing some sort of "immortal" creature (or a set of creatures) isn't outside the realm of possibility. I do miss Flamewake Phoenix a little--one of my favorite creatures from FRF.

That's definitely not the bulk phoenix overlord. That's his spiffy son in a tuxedo that actually made it in life and is now sitting around sipping fine wine atop his flaming volcano. I'd play that in Rakdos any day of the week with the upcoming Yahenni's Expertise and Herald of Anguish.

We got a hellkite relatively recently in BFZ, so I don't think the term is retired. I think we're going to see regents and hellkites in the future, for a little more variety in dragon names. Maybe we'll get hellkites on some worlds and regents on others.

If so, you'll probably break face with it. This thing can drop T3 or 4 easy, and can swing for 5-6 every turn. Yeah, there will be removal that can deal with it, but that's true of any threat.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

Actually, it was worse than that. Midnight Prerelease, I get my box, open it, grab the promo, and...Release the Gremlins. *blank stare* Okay, fine. Whatever. I did manage to destroy a couple of artifacts with it and net some 2/2 gremlins but it wasn't that great. I could probably do more with it in Constructed, though. Walking Ballista was probably the best card in that box, unlike my neighbor, whose box contained a Chalice of the Void Invention. What really hurt is that I had my hands on that box but had to pass it to the left. *sigh* It hurt even more when he tapped me on the shoulder to ask me, "hey--do you what this card does? Is it any good?".
I got a chance to play with Freejam Regent at prerelease. I was overall very pleased with improvise overall, it was not hard to drop this guy on turn 4 consistently. Inspiring Statuary is definitely the way to go rather than things like this for constructed though.
In formats where you can play Statuary with Chief Engineer, you can easily Convoke out Statuary and start casting Big Things with Convoke and Improvise. Grand Architect plays well with Statuary too.

I got to steal one of these Regents at the Prerelease with Wrangle, pump it twice and win on the spot, so my only comment on it is "Yiiiiiiiii Haaaaaaaaa"!
(Insert random western movie song)
Your opponent must have been crying for not leaving mana to pump.

Ever since Dragons of Tarkir, all the cool Dragons are Regents now. Those Hellkites are just a bunch of edgy hipsters. Regents rule!

Saturday morning was better--Metallic Mimic, along with Battle at the Bridge, Tezzeret's Touch, and Pacification Array for a comfortable BU control shell.

I also got Release the Gremlins as my promo. By the end of G1, I realized how utterly backbreaking it is in limited. It's a straight up bomb.
