I'm not currently playing any of the decks that would want this (mainly because of the price of LotV :frown:), but I think this is really good for Modern. Another option for one-mana removal is always good, and this has a particular advantage over Bolt at the moment because it doesn't care about Mutagenic Growth. Don't think the Revolt part will come in to play a lot, because a lot of the things you'll want to kill with it already cost one or two, but sequences like fetch, snapcaster, Push your three-drop sound quite reasonable.
Basically a +4 auto-include in any Modern deck with access to Black.
How much is this going to go for even at Uncommon?
I think dismember peaked around $5-7 at its height of popularity and before reprints in masters
This will have lower demand, since like the model T it only comes in black.
thank god, a good answer for that obnoxious copter! it seems really sweet in modern too, thanks to fetchies. sacing clues to hit up to 4 cmc drops is a thing in standard as well. good card is good, perhaps very good
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
What happened with old wording "with converted mana cost"?
It would have a different interaction with valid targeting, fizzling and stack interactions. If it was templated as "Destroy target creature with converted mana cost 2 or less", then you could only target a creature with 2 CMC or less. With the templating of "Destroy target creature if it has 2 CMC or less", it can target any creature regardless of its CMC, but if its 3+ cmc it will resolves without doing anything. This is necessary to have the secondary "instead" clause without butchering the templating any more.
What happened with old wording "with converted mana cost"?
I think it might be cause of a quirk in the rules...?
Like "With converted mana cost 2 or less" would mean that it couldn't even target a creature with cmc 3 or 4 for it's Revolt effect to even work. With this wording it can target any creature. It just only has an effect if that creature meets the criteria (cmc 2[or 4] or less).

I hope you are correct. I see this going for at least Path to Exile money maybe more. I hope I'm wrong.

That wording is the difference between Red Elemental Blast and Pyroblast apparently. If you need to turn Ensnaring Bridge active, it's cool to be able to cast the spell in order to empty your hand, no matter what. It may also target a Phantasmal Image that clones a 3+ cmc creature. And so on.

This is a standard uncommon. It's not going to be more than a couple of dollars.
Best "1 mana" removal since Murderous Cut. Feels too good to be true in the eternal formats. On top of cheap fatties which are immune to bolt, let's all say a small prayer for the Nexus bros...
Missed picking it up off ebay by about 10 seconds. FML.
eBay preorder prices are frequently awful.
Some of the best preorder prices are actually at SCG when they first post the card.
This will probably start at $1, $3 tops,
but it will probably go up.

I wonder if this is good enough for Modern? CMC less than 2 hits a lot of permanents doesn't it? Lots of Burn staples, Glistener Elf, Tarmogoyf...
The "kicker" effect means it'll hit most relevant creatures that don't get summoned from the GY too. I wonder if it's good enough?
This is definately good enough for modern. I would say it's great! This might even make Sultai a real deck in modern.
agreed, the lack of good 1-cmc removal is one of the biggest things holding that color combo back.

If MTG is a part of your life, the formats are like relationships:
Standard/Block = The on-again, off-again holiday fling
Modern/Vintage/Legacy = Stable, homely. A ***** after absence/misreading
Limited/Sealed = Heart breaking free spirit
Commander/Cube = Agreeable, needy and expensive
Pauper/Peasant = Sweet, kind, practical, but shy and boring
Wizards has shied away from the "targeting but not being able to resolve" type wording recently, but in this case the card wouldn't work if it didn't have it, because the revolt clause wouldn't be checked until after you selected a legal target.
This is an amazing card and will be a staple in modern. Not sure about legacy or vintage, but I feel like it'll have at the very least SB play in both in some decks.
The fact you can enable revolt with fetches is absolutely absurd and makes this a real powerhouse. Even if it didn't have the revolt option it would be a really good card, but with that and the consistency of fetchlands makes this quite remarkable. Thank goodness this is an uncommon.
There's the legacy playable for the set. It will see extensive play there and if it doesn't I will be shocked. The synergy with fetchlands and wastelands is obvious.
