Damn, I was certain it would be Planar Gateway. Oh well.
I thought it was a strictly worse Planar Portal for a second, glad to see they didn't take that route.
I think it's what is behind Tezzeret in Battle at the Bridge as well. It is a legendary artifact so it makes sense.
That'd mean that Bolas sent one of his minions to Kaladesh to destroy the portal for whatever reason. At least that's what Dark Intimations seems to be implying.
God, I hope not. I would literally give one of my legs to see the glory of Phyrexia brought to Ravnica.
Actually, I'd think it's more likely that Bolas had Tezz get the blueprints, before destroying it, so he can rebuild it later and control the only one.

That shadow in the smoke on Dark Intimations looks like it could be Bolas looking down on Tezzeret. Maybe Tezzeret is trying to become stronger than Bolas and is using the portal to bring Phyrexians to do something.

"The essence of every world, every spell and every thought is power. Nothing else matters, because nothing else exists."
Card is... alright. It's a win condition for infinite colorless mana decks, which is nice, but it does nothing on its own, which is not. A good card, but not as exciting as other cards we had spoiled today.
Card is huge in EDH. With Rings of Brighthearth, it's a colorless Tooth & Nail for any permanent for 10. There is no reason why any big mana deck does not want to play this.

Margaret Thatcher: “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”
Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Martin Luther King Jr.: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
Yep, need to find the best ETB triggers over on cast triggers to maximize this in Tron decks.

No, in the latest Magic Story, Tezzeret is basically pushing Rashmi day and night to complete the portal. It seems as though Tezzeret was trying to get some really powerful invention out of the fair, not specifically Rashmi's transporter, but Rashmi was the only one who came through and built the larger scale one. It's unclear whether organic matter can be transported, but inorganic matter certainly comes through just fine.
Tezzeret is probably going to bring the transporter back to Bolas.
I suspect Bolas sent Tezzeret to collect powerful artifacts, and a planar gateway was the most impressive of them. It may have been his intention all along to have such an artifact, knowing Kaladesh was the plane most likely to be on the cusp of such technology. His intentions may be to use it to transport other impressive inventions to collect, and eventually, people. Tezzeret was useful to him as a PW. Imagine an entire plane's populace, like that of Amonkhet, becoming functional planeswalkers as well while devoted to him. He could easily overrun planes that way and amass legions across worlds with such an invention that turns all his minions into plane-wide threats that seed worlds.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
Why not Kaladesh itself? Everyone is gonna be screwed due to plane wide civil war, power rangers are gonna stir things up, why not just go all out and introduce our lovely phyrexians to the mixture. Sounds like tons of fun, what's the worst that can happen?
I'd be happy to see Kaladesh become a Phyrexian colony, but it'd take too long for that to happen and we should be returning to New Phyrexia soon.
New Phyrexia invading Theros is perfect because it's two return blocks in one and Elspeth is already there waiting for the Phyrexians to come.
