Right, so green deals the most with lands. It would be fine for a green planeswalker to make land tokens that say "Tap: Counter target spell" right? Makes sense to me.
Black made gold tokens in one block... and they were a color pie bend, not a regular mechanic. By this logic blue should get graveyard reanimation because of Innistrad's skaab's and green to get flying whenever it wants because destructor dragon.
Blue has been able to make mana for and from artifacts for a long time, and black was one of the original mana ramp colors, and still messes plenty with ramp.
There is excessive precedence here.
I'm going to support Pyrogoat here; it's the artifacts that generate the mana, blue just searches for them.

Gold was also a drawback mechanic: it didn't give you the mana, it gave it to them.
Say what? Gild and King Macar both gave YOU as the owner of the exile effect the gold token.
A lot of players including me, doesn´t ever look at the numbers of a card, so I can see why some people would be confused. I too think they need to find a better way of showing which of them belong to what set and why not do it with a different symbol to represent the Planeswalker deck and the actual deck, in this case Kaladesh
But there are two potential confusions here. People could be confused about why there are two Tezzerets, which is fair but also not particularly important to anything. The second is where they can play each Tezzeret. By giving it the Aether Revolt symbol, they're indicating it's legal for anything Aether Revolt is legal in.
Compare to when they didn't do this, and had standard legal cards with their own set symbol. No one actually knew if they could play them.
Like the M16 (2016 Welcome Deck) cards that people rarely recognize as legal when I've played them on RARE occasion.... lol
Etherium Cell is the coolest part of this card. This should've had four abilities as well. I'm hoping the third planeswalker we get has four abilities on it. This is the Dovin Baan of these planeswalkers; in a vacuum it will work but besides that, I don't see who wants to use this. Maybe a superfriends deck with Heart of Kiran?

If this is the direction they are taking planeswalkers, I'm very pleased. Whether the card is playable or not isn't as important to me as the fact its not just another brainless "card advantage, removal, ultimate, weenie token generator" fill in the blanks swiss army knife. Its a walker who can't take over a game entirely on his own, but can still complement your deck
They managed to make an ultimate that is weaker than the -1 on tezz, agent of bolas. Neat. +1 is make a lotus petal instead of digging 5 for an artifact. This is a pretty bad walker.

Yeah, this does give off a similar vibe as Dovin Baan.
In addition to Aetherworks Marvel, a recent Blogatog post implied that Aether Revolt will have some level of focus on sacrifice effects, particularly with artifacts as a resource. A planeswalker with a +1 that generates artifact tokens - which also have the power to sac themselves at will - seems like a great enabler for those kinds of effects.
As things stand, Tezzeret probably isn't a card for me, since I'm a casual player who (unless I get a lot of cards in Tezz's colors that play into that theme at the AER prerelease) is unlikely to have an artifact deck in his colors to put him in. (Though that would change if I get around to buying the Breya commander precon.) But it still seems like a solid card to me, and I expect it's going to look better and better as more of the set is revealed.

"The true measure of all heroes is not what they achieve, but who they inspire." —Triumph of Gerrard
I do not play standard, haven't since original INN, so bear with me here. But, that +1 is surprisingly good I think. Realistically, he can take you from 4 to 7 on turn 5, provided you hit the land drop. Some 7-drops I found interesting, yet underutilized(possibly for good reason, read my first line) include- Sphinx of the Final Word, Minds Dialation, and while not exactly under utilized, but still intriguing, World Breaker. The sphinx and the 'drazi seem like homeruns for that slot, some incredibly resilient finishers that is. His loyalty is solid, allowing you to forego some immediate removal, in exchange for a flashy beastly.
Splash some Aetherworks Marvel and Eldrazi (Maybe Kozilek?!) in there. This deck seems like it'll run out of cards in hand quickly and replenishing off of Kozilek could be good.

The fact the token created bay the +1 have to tap + sacrifice is tough.
Why? I'm genuinely curious. Outside of Quicksmith Rebel and Malfunction (and honestly, who is going to use Malfunction on the token), there isn't a whole lot of relevance and it mimics Lotus Petal nicely.
It's to make sure he isn't stupidly broken with Improvise cards. The tokens would make two mana each in that case.

I'm not sure how it's worse than the -1 on tezz... it effectively is the -1 on tez except it triggers every turn.
You're correct it's kind of underwhelming... but definitely not worse than the ability you reference.
It takes multiple turns with this walker making lotus petals to even attack with a 5/5. Tezz, agent of bolas -1 allows you to attack for 5 IMMEDIATELY the turn it comes down and then 10 the next turn by going -1 again. You could win with tezz, agent of bolas' -1 before you could even activate the ultimate on this card. Yes, that is worse.

The tap is just unnecessary on the tokens(but it only matters when they become creatures)
I would speculate the tap portion on the tokens is to prevent players from using the tokens to help pay the Improvise cost on a spell then sacrificing the token to help cast an additional spell afterwards.

No? Both Gild and King Macar, the Gold-Cursed give you the gold token.

This tezzert can work in Breya, Etherium Shaper
Especially the -2
Not standard nor modern but keep an eye on it this could be better than it looks.

Fits into my thinking of a UB control ramp with Eldrazi... ROFL.

Even then Breya has 2 darettis (one not being great granted), the older versions of this pw, and dovin because... dovin.

Well damn. There you go.

Depending on the final cardpool, this thing could be very T2 playable.
ITT, people underestimating the potential to kill multiple creatures with this.
