I like him too. He works pretty well with Kydele in that he's a mana sink in the command zone that you can spend all that colorless mana on. Scry giving you the option to bottom an unwanted land is nice too.
the strange thing I noticed is about the translation of the name: THrasios became Trasios (an H has been dropped) and I noticed that even the name of Tana, the Bloodsower in Italian has been translated as Tiana (adding an i)

Gisela, Blade of Goldnight is called "Sela Goldnachtschwert" in German, probably because "Gisela" is a name that most german players would associate with their grandma, not some badass sword-wielding angel.

Any grandma that can do what Gisela can is certainly badass.
The case is quite simple. In Latin, Greek words were slightly readapted, latinized. This carried over to Italian; also, many Greek names used in English are actually in a Latin or hybrid form (e.g. ancient Greek Eràkles -> it. Èrcole = eng. Hercules). In Italian we don't have the theta sound "th". Theseus becomes "Teseo" etc., and so Thrasios is italianized as Trasios. Similarly, Polukranos is Polikranos (because Greek ypsilon is read i and not u), Helios is Elios (we have no h sound) and so on. I'll leave you the pleasure to find all the differences! I think that it is a nice reference to the strong bounds between ancient Rome and Greece.
Now... the Tana thing is much funnier. There is a bad word in Italian ending in -tana (and starting like the equivalent Spanish word), which means wh*** in English. In some Italian slang way of saying, we just say "tana". So, you understand, it is not appropriate for a legendary lady to have that name! Whereas Tiana is not problematic.
It happens when the name is actually a current word in the language. Taking your example, Tana in italian is den, or lair. Not the best name for a mighty legendary card, isn't it?

Italian here too
The strange thing I noticed about the T/Th sound is that I have seen other name (i.e. Thraben) in which the H was not dropped.
About the Tana name I didn't think about that I was thinking about the word Tana (translated as Den/Burrow) and that WotC didn't want to use a regular word as a name.
Edit: as Karham said are there any othr example of modified names? (other than the Gisela/Sela german one)

I can see him at the helm of a draw-go deck. Maybe use one of the Wx partners to add some more colours and options to his repetoire. Play him with countermana open, and if you don't need to counter anything, use his ability. Card advantage on a commander is never to be underestimated, and he's in the best 2-colour-combo for most EDH metas as well.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
Not really related, but in italian we also have our share of minstranslations.
Most notably: Shivan Dragon translated to Drago di Shivan, which means Shivan's Dragon. Sensei's Divining Top which has been translated to "Cappa delle profezie del sensei", which translates back in english to "sensei's divining hood/cloak/cape".
the error about Shivan Dragon was that the original translator didn't knew that Shivan was an adjective to the name Shiv, the card should've been translated as "Drago di Shiv"
the error with "Cappa" in sensei's top has been that they thought as Top like "parte superiore" and so used "Cappa" as in "copertura". Instead that translating Top as in "trottola" like decipted in the image.
back to the Theros name I noticed that other names has been translated with the correct pronunciation (Ephara became Efara, Athreos became Atreo and Purphoros became Purforos)

Kruphix is named Krufix in Spanish too, due to 'ph' and 'th' being weird sounds that aren't used in Spanish.
For other weird localizations, Meren got changed to Merin in Spanish, but I'm not sure why.
About the card, I love it. I wanted to make a blue deck with as many instants and flash creatures as I could and this guy lets me use any leftover mana I have each turn efficiently, while also letting me splash other colors thanks to Partner. If only he was from a plane I liked...
I actually really like this guy... he hits play early, isn't threatening enough on his own to draw aggro, and is a nice mana sink that ramps/draws/offers card selection. I can see him as a definite partner in a tag-team commander deck, let your other partner serve as the deck's main focus and use this guy as a reliable option if the board state gets bogged down and durdley.
Wait, so they're seriously giving the partner commander who makes infinite mana (Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix) a the drop of a hat a way to use that infinite mana and win the game?

Its cheap and makes sure you can keep all your flash stuff up and ramp / draw if you want to.
And something you can put all the mana to good use, as it produces you more mana.
Its even a great card just to have, doesnt need to be the commander (Maelstrom Wanderer for example, can use this very well).

With something to untap your lands each turn, you build up a lot.
