There's no room in the crunch for Clifftop Retreat, so if any do get in, it won't be a full cycle.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Odyssey Filter lands are a good fit given that they can be matched to the partner pairs. You draw it, you have both colors of the commander. I guess it's like a karoo that you can use immediately for both colors, which is good for those aggressive ones.
its frankly unsettleing how much wotc cares about the secondary market. you CAN put value cards in these. every commander deck except the first set was available for a while. and even if poeple do crack them for the few value cards, the rest usually end up on the market for those that dont want to by decks or need duplicates.
They couldve easily one enemy and ally pain, and check land, and one of the old filters in each deck. so all 25 lands get a reprint. BUT the ememy checks are practically guaranteed for MM17. The scry lands would be perfect as well.
Frankly, there is absolutely ZERO point in rarity in a prebuild deck. the EXACT same number of a new rare will exist of a new uncommon or common or mythic. So having "Rare" slots is pointless.
I have a feeling the lands are eating up rare slots when they shouldnt be. In all honesty some of the legends are poorly designed and a cycle of new cycling cards is a waste of new card space when tons of land cycling already exist.
. BUT the ememy checks are practically guaranteed for MM17.
Wat.
MM sets have never had a rare land cycle and I would hope that they would not be stealing slots from higher valued cards if they were included. None of them cover the cost of a $10 pack.
When the full decklists become available, you may notice that we did some unusual things with the mana bases. We normally don't put rare dual lands in Commander preconstructed decks. We prefer to put those types of cards into products intended for a wider audience, such as our main booster releases or Masters products. We knew that four-color decks presented a special challenge for getting access to all of your colors of mana, so we spent some time identifying rare dual lands that we didn't think we'd want to put into booster packs in the near future. We put a few of those cards into the Commander 2016 decks to help the decks run smoothly.
They've admitted in the past rare duals help sell packs, so they're not going to kill their own golden goose with this set. I have a feeling they didn't do regular cycles, they just put in the lands for each deck they felt were best for tempo/ramp, etc. and didn't worry about finishing the cycles since it's a supplementary product.
If the enemy checklands have only had one printing to this point, then that's something would save for a regular booster product.
Also, there's almost 50 spaces for lands, we've still got room for more lands. I have to imagine a lot of one-shots will also be slotted in.

Most of the rares are cheap junk. but since the next modern masters has so few sets to choose from and these were in innistrad, im guessing they will be there

I just hope the Rare lands dont take away slots of other rare reprints. rarity is completely pointless anyways

BRGKresh the BloodbraidedBRG, A box of lands and ideas.
Modern:
RG Titanshift. A deck made of cards too stupid for EDH.
Retired: Lots. More than I feel you should suffer through or I should type out.
Clearly, you don't play limited.
