I really like the kings, the art, the effect etc, but I'm mildly disappointed that I can't see what's especially red about them.
The red portion is that you offer them the choice; acknowledging the player's individuality and taking a chance yourself, both very red traits.
I like Kynaios and Tyro very much myself, commanders that are both powerful but require some thought to use to their maximum are the best and this certainly fits the bill. I think they will be the first new deck of the set I build, so excited to see what they can do.
Ludevic seems terrible and disappointing, but nice to finally see him get a card. Vorthos will love him regardless I'm sure, but I am confused why he doesn't create Zombie tokens like Geralf or something.
Kyanios and Tiro of Meletis! At last! Great to finally know their P/T and what these guys do. I'm not a fan of group hug decks but I'm playing them regardless I know it's crazy but I wish they had let you draw a card for each opponent that didn't play a land, so you got more of an upside. Eh, never cared about the effect anyway. The characters, art and theme are on point so this is automatically my main deck commander now.
Well Ludevic is no Edric. I guess as one of the 99 in a Nekusar, the Mindrazer deck. I like the buddy kings, Oh the possibilities... I will build a stax gay king deck and wipe the smiles from my opponents faces.
Hopefully there's more to come. Ludevic is disappointing, I guess he has partner so he can't be THAT strong, but he's like a worse Edric Spymaster of Trest.
If your opponent has a Phyrexian Arena or even uses a pain land on their turn, they get to draw another card at the end of their turn.
Kyanios and Tiro is a cool design for group hug but certainly not my style at all.
Man. Ludevic just isn't what I expected. I can't really fight the feelings of disappointment here. I mean, yes, we should have expected a weaker than average effect because we knew he was gonna wind up with partner. But this just wasn't what anyone expected.
It´s too bad that Kyanios and Tiro isn´t in black. Would have been fun to run Underworld Dreams with it. Is there any other non-black card that punish the opponent for drawing cards?
The only things I can really think of are Consecrated Sphinx and Mind's Eye, which don't really punish your opponent so much as they reward you.
Edit: Actually, the Sphinx could be bonkers if multiple opponents can't play out a land and thus HAVE to draw a card.
Ludevic has to be one of the greatest disapointments in a long time. What an underwheming ability that isn't remotely flavorful. The draw isn't even forced so you can't take advantage of it with cards like Nekusar, the Mindrazer or Fevered Visions. Gisa, Geralf, and Gisa and Geralf all lived up to the hype and were flavorful. Then we finally get their idol and he neither reanimates nor creates zombies or anything flavorful. His abilities have nothing to do with his character and it's very underwhelming for a legend. That card is Kamigawa-level legend; I dare say Homelands-level legend in terms of power. He could've have definitely been the UBRG legend being as those colors all have graveyard play and themes of life/death, necromancy, and token production. Of course people are gonna be salty; Ludevic has to be the quintessential example of someone dropping the ball.

Friendly reminder to everyone to mind your phrasing when talking about Kynaios and Tiro, what may seem normal in one way can be taken very wrong in a slightly changed context. Thank you.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
The way his effect rewards my opponents for their own Phyrexian Arenas, Painlands, Shock lands, fetches, etc. means I would often rather run a vanilla legend than him.

Rest in RIP My Signature, I guess. 2015-2016, we hardly knew ye.
Total side note but I like how people are discussing running this over itself.
Well, it has to be said that Kolaghan is clearly better than Kolaghan. Considering what BR decks usually want and how stiff the competition in this guild is, there is no way that I would run Kolaghan over Kolaghan! Kolaghan might make it in as the sixth guild card or so. Kolaghan on the other hand ranks several places below that.
It was so funny to me when they described this as a downgrade to the original Zurgo during the Pax East panel. I was thinking if this is a downgrade, they should really "downgrade" all legendary creatures. Haha.
My deck designing is quite concise at this point:
1. Come up with deck idea
2. Realize this idea is somehow fundamentally similar to another deck I have or that is commonly played in my group
3. Decide I don't want to disassemble one of my existing decks
4. Give up and do nothing
I don't see the point of this new shroud mechanic. It's strictly worse than Hexproof. Threshold is pretty bad too, Delirium is a much better mechanic and probably easier to activate.
Otherwise this card is a pretty neat guy. Dodges removal and grows into a Primal Huntbeast. 3/5
Ludevic is such a fail. He should not have partner at all, he's a loner mad scientist who should be cloistered in his lab making carzy zombies! I really feel like the partner mechanic in general has been overlooked flavorfully. I get that it was a mechanical solution to four color decks, but the flavor just doesn't feel right. Why not make a Tibor card and a Lumina card, and give them both partner? Or for that matter why not make the gay kings two different cards with partner?! Lol amiright? There are enough characters in magic with a history of working together that they shouldn't be shoe-horning important loner characters onto these cards arbitrarily.

He's an experimenter, and a person who does work with others when it benefits him. This goes with his SoI work with Geralf and entwined into his character. Ludevisc does a lot of different types of experimentation. There are probably ways to exploit him beyond just the usual. I feel he is good in the Kings deck and will be included with them as a part of group hug. I feel that it's an alliance building card that is political in nature, not something that RU do a lot but Ludevisc is known to collaborate with other scientists. This is in flavor of him.

Life is a beautiful engineer, yet a brutal scientist.
I think the reason Ludevic is so bad/generous is because he's with Kyanios and Tiro and since that deck was designed to be grouphug...
This. As soon as I saw that he was going to be in the group hug deck, my expectations plummeted. Turns out I was right about that, the card looks like a fun one at least.
Can't say I understand why he allows others to draw cards and yet talks about being a self-taught genius.
You have to be a genius to understand.
Nothing like letting your opponent draw a card when they crack a fetchland, use a painland, Phyrexian Arena, or a myriad of other things where your opponents don't actually have to hit each other to get benefit from your card. You're right though, real genius going on there, because when I think greatest necromantic genius I think guy who helps others for no reason. At what point does a necromancer scream grouphug?
I'm pretty sure that most people are far more disappointed that Ludevic's ability has nothing to do with him at all rather than his power level. He seems fine power-wise to me but the ability makes no sense on a Ludevic card. It's like putting ramp on Narset or something.
At least my Gay Kings(TM) are nice and good.

"Necro-Alchemist", does nothing with creating or synergizing with the undead...
I wasn't one of Ludevic's big fanboys, but I was excited to see what they finally do with him. And it's pretty disappointing. It's too bad he's part of the group hug deck, because everything about this card from a vorthos POV is very wrong. It could have been saved with "and you create a 2/2 black Zombie token creature" tacked on the end, but I guess the nonblack deck shouldn't have black tokens. Which brings me back to the failure of this card.

Same here. Nothing has popped up yet for today. I just keep refreshing and nothing.

Well, giving the opponents a choice is actually a red thing to do, as small as it is. I'll go with it and be happy about this card^^
