The Kings certainly are something interesting, group hug commander. Card draw and ramp, and being a 2/8 will certainly hold the ground well, making even less reason for others to want to attack you.
Ludevic seems cool too. Card draw insentive for your opponents to attack someone other than you.
I feel Ludevic is a bit underwhelming, I also thought him to be either pure blue or Grixis, I do understand though that Grixis is a stretch. I just expected more from Ludevic considering he is, most likely, the smartest person on the plain and capable of quite a lot. Can't say I understand why he allows others to draw cards and yet talks about being a self-taught genius.
The duo are interesting.
I feel like Parting Thoughts would have been in one of those sets/blocks that was really bad. At its worst it is a card you can't use because it might kill you, on average it will just be a "Destroy target creature", and at best you'll get 4+ cards out of it. I like the mention of Leshrac though.
I really like the kings, the art, the effect etc, but I'm mildly disappointed that I can't see what's especially red about them. High toughness: White, draw effect: blue, additional lands: green. But red? I don't know, I still really like the card And Ludevic as well.
EDIT: Nevermind, I misread his effects. Don't really like him when there are so many ways in which my opponents can gain extra draws out of life loss effects like Phyrexian Arena.
Ludevic seems complete crap to me. He even gives the enemy an extra card for losing life to his own Phyrexian Arena! Flavorwise he's underwhelming too. Doesn't feel like Innistrad's greatest necromantic genius at all, and it seems weird that he's not black.
The kings look good, though I wouldn't play a group hug deck myself.
Kings are great if only because they provide you wit some benefit on the same turn you play them, unlike a log of hug cards. Also 8 toughness is going to hold down the ground big time.

Why does Ludevic not have anything to do creating anything? I think they designed the card then slapped the name on it afterwards. There is no way that they came up with a UREdric, Spymaster of Trest while trying to make a mad scientist.

I think almost every one of the four color legends so far has been odd when it comes to at least one of their colors. Its the problem with 4 color to be honest that its hard to make a card feel that it belongs to each color it is in.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.

You could argue that offering the opponent a choice of effects is red. Maybe?
Without a token or graveyard related ability, Ludevic doesn't quite feel right. I'm relieved there is going to be more than 10 creatures with Partner but that mechanic seems to reduce text space for other interesting abilities.
WOW. Seems very likely a Leshrac card is now in our future. Excellent!

Yeah im salty with the new Ludevic.
You're certainly not alone. I was thinking about Ludevic all day yesterday and I was completely and utterly convinced he would be our URBG Commander. Think about it.. The BG represents his obsession with reanimation and the UR represents his mad scientist side.
I'm incredibly bummed they didn't figure this out. I was gonna give them MAJOR props. I mean...it's just absolutely perfect.
It´s too bad that Kyanios and Tiro isn´t in black. Would have been fun to run Underworld Dreams with it. Is there any other non-black card that punish the opponent for drawing cards?
more to come ETA sorry about the Dailymtg wasn't updating right we weren't sure if there were more articles to come

Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis look like a blast. I want to build them and put Oath of Lieges in the deck. (I'm not saying I'll actually do it.)
Ludevic, Necro-Alchemist has silly flavor text but a decent ability. He's like a half-assed Edric, Spymaster of Trest.

Been saying it since Theros, but Willian Murai's art is perfect for that plane.
Wizards destroying expectations isn't nothing new...
