The Rebecca Guay basics are gorgeous, and +1 on old border. They feel very old-border in terms of art.
Heh, I love how Breya is a "fixed" Umezawa's Jitte. They've liked doing that a lot recently, print a card akin to an old, somewhat busted option but make it tamer and more normal. That's one I'm not gonna even entertain building, methinks.
Yeah, they've got the same Braveheart face paint thing going on.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
I'm wondering why Saskia, the face of the aggro deck, has 3 power while Breya, the artifact legend, has 4 power.
Because Sasika effectively has 6 power if unblocked, and effectively doubles the power of any of your unblocked creatures as well. It's just split across two opponents.
breya is the artifacts commander i didn't know i wanted
i'm intrigued by the idea of tana as a voltron general, you lose some of the funsies white brings to the table in those cases... but you're in the best color in edh that can easily pay for equip costs

Well, I'm going to go out on a limb and say it has something to do with the fact that she, in 1v1, is a Gratuitous Violence, so she will hit for more than 4, and also pumps the entire team.
Also, this goes for the comment above, why would trample be "better" or more flavorful? I mean, if they slapped trample onto her, she'd just be a generic Jund legend, which we have plenty of, the vigilance allows for her to be both a beater and a blocker. In all honesty, the Vigilance is really the only W thing about her, which is a bit disappointing, but she's so far my favorite.

I'm probably not the one who's going to play Saskia, but I like her, especially in multiplayer. Many multiplayer EDH games (especially when your playgroup isn't super competitive) tend go on waaay too long for my tastes. It's always nice if there's some pressure.
Tymna the Weavers ability is interesting. She's obviously better if there are multiple opponents, but even with one opponent she still is a Phyrexian Arena on a stick, kind of. I'd like to play her along Sidar Kondo of Jamuraa. Don't know how good she's in combination with Kydele though...
Breya is a nice build-around, but probably too cost-intensive if you want to built a really streamlined deck (?).
Breya is the combo artifact commander I've always wanted. You can go infinite with her and with the splash of red to the esper colors, I think it's a little easier to achieve. I was hoping that it wasn't a tap effect but honestly I think it would of been better WITH a tap effect now that I think about how to make her go off. Thornbite and company are considerably easier on your mana then Summoning Station, Salvaging Station, and Sol Ring and company is. And now the three card esper combo with Thopter Foundry, Sol Ring, and Salvaging Station has access to things like Purphoros and Reckless Fireweaver and even loot effects, it's scary.
I like the desing of all the new partner legend but I am very dissapointed that with 15 slots only Sidar Kondo dig in magic's past. I mean who is Tymna or Tana? I was expecting something like Xantcha, Belbe, and so many characters. But I guess the creative team prefers to focus on the planes and stories they have already created, than someone's else.
Who is Tymna the Weaver btw? She feels like an Arachne trope for Theros, but I don't remember. I think there was a mention of an Arachne in Godsend when Nikka was telling Elspeth about Callaphe, but I can't recall.
Color-Identity—She's a four-color commander! Not only that, she embodies all four colors in her effects, creating Thopters, controlling creatures, healing, and dealing damage, all at once.
I like these parnter commanders better than the commanders from yesterday, with the exception of silas. They seem more build-around-able, and give me more hope that it'll be possible to combine them together for synergy.
Breya is definitely the kind of thing I like, except for the steep cost. 2 mana AND two artifacts? On top of which only one of those abilities affects the board. 90% of the time the -4/-4 will be the only one worth using. I'm glad it's not tap, but still she seems difficult to really exploit unless you have an overabundance of mana AND artifacts. Also the art is a little strange looking. Still, she IS 6/6 for 4 with significant upside, and if you can put together enough mana and artifacts you can threaten to lethal someone out of relatively nowhere. Overall she's good but not incredible. I think I like Atraxa slightly more? But either way they're easily the two best/most interesting of the 4c commanders from what I can tell.
Rebecca Guay basic lands - I'm seriously swooning over here people. I just recently built a 5 color Rebecca Guay deck and was lamenting the lack of lands with her artwork. I seriously don't know how I'm going to get enough of these lands.
And suddenly we hope C16 decks have terribly manabases that contain only basics.
Seriously though, they'll be a fair number of these in each deck. They should be easy enough to acquire.
Why couldn't they have Rebecca Guay basics in the mono colored precons so we could have more of them. We're only gonna get a few of them per deck now D:

This is a concern of mine too. Especially since quite frankly I want all of my decks to have the Rebecca Guay basics now. I'm going to need hundreds...

Indeed and said, Tap to add [whatever] to your mana pool. I'd put those Plains direct into my Death and Taxes deck in a moment then.
Kev Walker's new basics and Mark Poole's are pretty damn good too.

I've been mulling that one over, I think they look like Balduvians more than anything else.
