I don't like partner at all. It feels like cheating on the spirit of the format to me. It also gives players with partner decks extra versatility and card advantage at no cost.
Such decks would also mean extra mana difficulty in a 98 card deck minus the generals. The partner generals, from what we see so far, are also slightly less powerful on their own.
I really dislike the partner mechanic as well. It's the same terrible vein of ideas as planeswalkers that you can use as commanders. "HEY GUYS!!! Check out this way that we are changing the rules of your format for cards from this set!!!" is not a cool gimmick imo.
By that reasoning, shouldn't Relentless Rats and Shadowborn Apostle be banned from EDH? When I first learned MtG, the motto was, "Follow the general rules, until the cards tell you otherwise."
I have a GWUB Commander deck, and I've been looking forward to today for a long time. That aside, I'm actually feeling a little bummed. I was hoping we'd see more than just a single four-colored legend in each deck. I knew there was a very strong chance that duo commanders ended up being this year's gimmick since it plays so well with four color space and there needs to be enough of them printed so that players can mix and match them, but still. Only one per deck? Maybe my expectations were unrealistic.
Atraxa, Praetors' Voice is a really sweet Magic card. It's the de-facto choice for four color superfriends among other things, but my deck can't use it's most pertinent ability. As such, it looks like my deck is probably going to be two partner legends. I was really hoping to avoid that because it just doesn't really feel as cool as piloting a deck with some bizarre four color monster. I suppose not using Atraxa means other players won't have any preconceived ideas about what my deck is before getting to know me though which could be okay.
It looks like there's going to be 8 different combinations of Commanders for GWUB (and probably all 4-color pairs, but I haven't double checked):
Im not entirely sold just yet on the partner mechanic, i dont think they will be able to bring it forward into 2017 without the possibility of breaking them with odd combinations. It also means that there is increased incentive to buy all of them and that more combinations are possible with each deck you buy.
The cards themselves I am reasonably impressed with and happy that the angel supports Witch-Maw Nephelim.

So usually we get 10 new options for Commander. This time we get... 5 new Allied color options, 15 new Enemy color options, 20 new Shard options, 20 new Wedge options and 25 new 4 color options! (If my math is correct )
Holy moly. So many possible decks to build... I love it!
I count 25 shard, 40 wedge, 40 four-color - provided you mix-and-match between decks, anyway. (Most of those probably won't be very good, but that's the mathematical total, as best I can tell.)
It's looking like I'm gonna have to decide between the non-Green and non-White decks, which is...pretty much how I was expecting things to go. (Not a fan of group hug, not a fan of aggro in commander, not a fan of not counter-based commanders or of not playing Red. Neither artifacts nor chaos are 100% my playstyle, but I can see either being fun, depending on what I think of the face cards. Partner's cool in theory, but the Partners they've shown so far don't particularly inspire me.)

"The true measure of all heroes is not what they achieve, but who they inspire." —Triumph of Gerrard
Partner is not such an eyesore like "Can be your commander" which i hated so much. Will do i guess, at least it is better than more four colored legendary creatures and can be combined in different combinations.
Bruse Tarl's art for some reason looks exactly like Munda, Ambush Leader, shirtless dude with a gray skin(and he is not even a Kor!) and facial hair who happens to be a WR ally. That's just uninspired even if his abilities are good.
I like Partner, because of it 15 cards gives us 120 different options:
7 for each 4-color combination
8 for each wedge
5 for each shard
3 for each enemy pair (2 solo, 1 partnered)
1 for each allied pair (not partnered)
Including the five 4-color commanders that gives us 125 different possible decks with only 20 cards, that seems like a pretty efficient use of cards. While I'm sure not all of them will be amazing I'm guessing that most will at least be playable.
Well I feel the partner's should've been more like a real parnership: where each set of two actually "have hidden buffs when you have both" (like first one giving firststrike and second one giving deathtouch). Now when I am checking those I am immediatelly putting them in 3-colour brackets.
Like the green-blue I am directly wishing to play it with the blue-red commander. To create a spellslinger deck.
WG is obviously gives unblockablity to UB one, the synergy is right there.

Check out the thread for my cube if you have the time, and tell me how terrible it is.
Generals meant to be drafted first in a single pack of 6 cards.
And here is the actual cube, meant to be drafted in 4 regular sized packs. (60 card decks)

I really like Braum Tar!

When he enters the battlefield or attacks I'll say "Strike like a ram"
