Well, unless they update the old Nephilim with "~ can be your commander," anyone who built a deck based upon them is now out of a commander. This sucks because the Nephilim look more interesting than most of the partner commanders we currently have spoiled. If they do not answer this in these decks, they are going to continue getting asked about them for years.
While I do kind of like the new partners, it speaks to how lazy Wizards is at creation and design. People keep saying they have decades of experience when it comes to making Magic cards, but instead of trying to make more than 1 cycle of actual 4 colored commanders, of which I've seen some people on this forum pull off 4 colored commanders well in the custom card creation forum, they take the easy way out by make two dual colored commanders.
By what standard is partner lazy?
I mean, it's clear that you, and some other people (including me really), wanted more true 4 color cards, but that doesn't make partner lazy in any way. It doesn't even make partner bad in any real capacity.
I'm happy with Partner. The UBRG list I'm working on is an Oops All Spells build, so having a 98-card deck is like having a free cantrip in every single opening hand. On top of that, Silas (if I ever cast him, thank god he's cheap) can recur my self-sacrificing artifacts. If the RG partner interacts with my existing list, I might just cry.
Reminds me of when I built my BUG morph commander deck... and then the Khans morph cards started getting spoiled.

Oh no, I still like Partner as a mechanic, but I feel there is more design space in these combinations, and this will be the only product we will get 4 colored cards for years. I just hope we don't have to wait another decade for them. Plus, two color combinations have plenty of commanders and options to choose from (except RW) and I feel we can do without them showing up in commander precons for a year or two.
At the very least, let the rest of the partners be interesting designs. Sidar Kondo, Bruse Tarl and Kraum are not impressive enough, but at least the other partners are doing something interesting.

But how that does make it lazy? Yes, they probably could have made more four color generals if they really, really tried. But they came up with another idea about how to do it.

How interesting cards are when read is not particularly important. The priority has and always will be how well they play.
Sidar Kondo and Kraum seems reasonably interesting to me anyway.
Bruse Tarl is quite straightfoward, yes, and to many players that may be somewhat of a turn off, but to some others, they like simple cards.
Usually with these things, if you're asking 'why didn't they do more of what I like and instead doing other things' the answer is because someone else is asking the same question.
