While some of these are slightly bland, the partner mechanic more than makes up for it. I haven't really been as excited for Commander precons as I am today. The new mechanics really spark my creative side. Some of these are houses on their own, some are perfect supporting pieces. I don't think any of them (so far) are completely unplayable. I am really looking forward to the remainder of the spoilers.
On a side note... I hate MTGO. My main magic fix is there, as I don't often get free time to find a consistent playgroup, and I'm just going to have to shell out stupid money to get my hands on the ones I want due to the new "Traesure Chest" gimmick. Lameeeeee.
First of all - love that angel. That deck will definitely be bought.
As for the rare duals - I think fetches and shocks are too high value, more likely painlands and the tangos. They might surprise us with something like the filter lands though. Those are really nice. Would they bother making a new dual cycle for a product like this, so there's another cycle with basic land types?

Apparently I am in the minority but I feel the whole partner thing is a cop out. There would finally be 4 color creatures and what we get is two two color creatures, none of which seem impressive enough to support a deck. And the one 4 color legend we get so far, while cool conceptually, is so anti-synergistic with itself it isn't even funny. You'll win through commander damage long before the proliferate gets you anything cool.
I am so glad I didn't preorder.

The secret to enjoyable Commander games is not winning first, but losing last.
If my post has no tags, then i posted from my phone.
Please wait before the other 4 colour commanders are spoiled before complaining... you might change your idea about the whole series.
I preordered all 5 decks and I am pretty sure I will get my money's worth, and if not, well at least I get lots of cool new toys to play with.
I just think, for my part, that the nephilims are too obvious as an auto include for the decks. I really hope that they get some sort of synergy within each of the decks where they show up, instead of simply acting as filler.

I think that trying to force multiple four color legends (three per deck) would have resulted in overall poorer design than the Partner mechanic. It also adds a bunch of new Commander possibilities. I'd rather they use Commander products to experiment with mechanics they can only do in Commander, Partner being one of those things.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.

Because souped-up air elemental is such a powerful beater in commander? I guess with sufficient equipment atraxa might get there, but without it it'd take 18 turns of attacking to kill 3 other players, with no blocking or removal. I'm fairly certain you can whip up something decent to win after proliferating 17 times.
Atraxa seems cool to me. The esper + red one might also be cool, we'll see on the specifics. Others.......ok fine, the others mostly look bad.

I think partner is entirely good. There are several points that make it that way. Castability of the commander in question for a four color deck. Or, for a five-color deck. When you do, eventually, three color partner commanders, they have a lot of overlap, and you can choose what order you want certain mana to come. They have to be somewhat worse because of doubling-up, but, not that much worse. Probably for the best; it would be ENTIRELY unreasonable for it to ever go to MORE than two, and why not, right now, then. I think the creative factors on these ones are a bit weak, though, in terms of art style, if not card mechanics. They don't need (and suffer from, badly, I would say) art style of reductive faraway recognition, they are commanders and typically that'll be in a different color sleeve so you don't muck it up; next ones would be better as Legends-style. Artists such as Quinton Hoover, Harold MacNeill, Richard Kane Ferguson, and others more in that vein, if not exactly them.

Not a fan of Partner. Looks very boring, as are all of the Partner commanders they've shown so far.
Atraxa looks cool. The name sounds cool and super Whovian when you say it out loud. Just please don't let every other true 4 color commander from this set also be a pot of keyword soup. A lot of people, like me, have been waiting for 4 color commanders for a long time and it would be a huge letdown for them each to just be a checklist of 4 keywords.

Having had some time to think about Partner a little more I will still stick by that I think it is a great design, but I must agree that the lack of 4 color commanders is a little dumb. If they wanted to they could have just increased the number of new cards by 5 for more partners to give the us another 4 color cycle to make sure that there is more than just 5 cards that can do it.
I can still hope they have a new nephilim cycle in here, but that is looking like it might not happen.
Never liked the idea of 4 color commanders, but I would LOVE Ludevic to have a zombie theme and for them to also print a BR zombie legend so I can make a Ludic and whoever else partnered grixis zombie deck
Actually, seeing how Sidar Kondo aids creatures with power 2 or less, here's to hoping Ludevic creates 2/2 zombie tokens somehow

A bit annoyed that they're doing 10 new enemy commanders and only 5 allied, when we just had enemy decks last year and they skipped allied to do 4-color this year :/
Not a terrible batch of spoilers to start the week off. Partner has me way more interested in a set I had very little interest in than I had expected to. It's also neat seeing some old characters printed as cards for the first time, hoping we get some more oddballs like Bruse or high demand characters like Ludevic.
Makes me sad that corrupted Gisela and Bruna aren't partners. Brisela would make a brutal commander.
Almost does feel like a wasted opportunity, ditto Gisa and Geralf (or Geralf and Ludevic, even though we are getting a partner Ludevic this set).
It's a shame Wizards isn't willing to put things into standard sets for commander. Like, just as an example, a planeswalker that can be your commander, or something with partner and the like. Sure those aspects of the cards wouldn't be usable in Standard, but the vast majority of cards in sets don't see play in any format but limited anyways.
Well, unless they update the old Nephilim with "~ can be your commander," anyone who built a deck based upon them is now out of a commander. This sucks because the Nephilim look more interesting than most of the partner commanders we currently have spoiled. If they do not answer this in these decks, they are going to continue getting asked about them for years.
While I do kind of like the new partners, it speaks to how lazy Wizards is at creation and design. People keep saying they have decades of experience when it comes to making Magic cards, but instead of trying to make more than 1 cycle of actual 4 colored commanders, of which I've seen some people on this forum pull off 4 colored commanders well in the custom card creation forum, they take the easy way out by make two dual colored commanders.

Well, I have to disagree with that entirely. First of all, while I like most of the 4 color designs on this site, nearly all of them have the problem of being either busted or being five, three or even two-colored cards disguised as four color (which is something the design team wanted to avoid). Second, the design team is much stricter in what they do and what they don't do, which makes it harder to design more four color legendary cycles. Third, I actually like partner, it's a much more creative idea to solve this problem than using off-color activation costs for example (which I would have found at least aethetically very unpleasing). I'm glad that we get at least one true 4 colored commander cycle and I'm fairly certain we'll get other true 4 color cards as well in this. I'm optimistic in that regard.
Oh and by the way, the angel-horrors art is absolutely breathtaking, isn't it? So eerily beautiful and horrifying at the same time.

I smell lots of players doing a infect focused deck because of her proliferate ability
Possibly. to be honest I would think super friends would be more the go to. Skittles just still seems better for an infect strat.
I was just thinking this, except in my case it means dropping red

Except that Skittles forces you into mono-black, so you lose a lot of good tools like blue counters, green pumps, and white cheap removal.

They've said there is only the single cycle of full-on 4-color.
If there are new Nephilim, that means they aren't Legendary.
While I must admit how awesomely trollish that would be, I don't see it happening.
