Damn that's a beefy gremlin. Not sure there's a red deck out there, with a lot of burn at two mana, then tap out for this guy? Looks cool as hell though.
The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
Is it just me or do the gremlins look like anteaters?

DECKS:
Commander:
Aurelia the Warleader - Combat Tricks and Swarm
Oloro, Ageless Ascetic - Lifegain/Lifedrain Pillowfort
Trostani, Selesnya's Voice - Token Assault
Meren of Clan Nel Toth - Reanimator Value
Mizzix - Out of the Box Spellslinger
I wish magic would tighten up their sense of power/toughness proportion vis a vis the art and concepts of new cards. Brazen scourge, while a neat card, should not be a 3/3. Two small koala-anteaters are beefy enough to takedown pretty much any bear in magic?
I've been feeling a bit galvanized about this after we got a freakin' peacock capable of fighting and killing most wyverns in the multiverse. The Space: the Convergence cube did a great job of really establishing a consistent p/t hierarchy, and what each tier really represented in terms of creature competence, firepower, and scope.
0/1 - peasants and small animals
1/1 - capable humans, medium mundane animals, swarms of small dangerous animals
2/2 - larger mundane predators, veteran warriors
3/3 - very dangerous large mundane animals (tigers), ogres, drakes & wyverns, heroic humans, siege weapons, guardian constructs
4/4 - angels, demons, sphinxes, large magical threats, "mundane" dragons
5/5 - most dragons, angelic leaders
6/6 - epic dragons, demonic or angelic rulers, small leviathans
Pillage is too good according to them because hey it can blow up a land at CMC 3, oh the horror! The best thing we could possibly get is MAYBE 1RR Sorcery: Destroy target artifact or nonbasic land. Hell make it instant just to make it a little pushed. I'd like it. At least demolish might not be unplayable in limited with all the artifacts around to blow up, but it's still pretty clunky although removal is generally clunky these days.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."

Magic flavor is never going make sense past the surface. It's far too late to impose any sort of consistency. I mean, why does Mental Note allow me cast Animate Dead on a creature? The creature died because I lost a bit of my sanity? What? In MTG, fifteen flying squirrels can kill the biggest threat in the multiverse. That's just how it goes.

It is.
Demolish is a boring preview, but best art since DWARF SMASH!
Let this great clan rest in peace (2001-2011)
Still not as far as Boggart Ram-Gang, but not all cards have to be ridiculous
Makes it less exciting for limited even if its still a powerhouse
