The 1 drop seems like it has potential in Affinity. It can hit a couple of times early game thanks to haste, then be sac'd to refill after you vomit your hand when he's no longer relevant.
So this guy is a master artificer story-wise and his card does absolutely NOTHING in that regard? I'd call that a pretty big flavor-fail. A nice walker still, very balanced, but he isn't one of the gatewatch so they toned him down a notch I assume. constructs seem unplayable.
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
Those two rare artifacts look insane, especially the 1 drop.
As a 1/1, how many times is it going to attack before it's blocked and killed? Once? Twice if you're lucky.
If it attacks on turn 1 and 2 before they get a blocker up, then it can sacrifice itself on turn 6 or 7 to draw you 3 cards.
If you topdeck it on an empty hand, it cycles itself
Ok, after seeing the Planeswalker Deck exclusives, I am definitely getting them as each of them contain cards useful for commander, and the alternate art land are gorgeous.
Yeah, these are GOOD, the lands especially.
Flame Lash looked familiar...then I realized (I started playing with Mirage, fully with Tempest :-))

Dovin shuts down Aggro/Burn pretty hard. Dovin vs Chandra incomming.
Scrapheap Scrounger is a nightmare for Control. Or some combo which requires to sac a creature or artifact.
Bomat Courier leaves up questions for me. Do they have seperate piles when I play multiples of them? Do I only need one to get all the cards faced down by their abilities?
Dovin vs Chandra vs Liliana vs Emrakul could definitely be a core aspect of the standard metagame. Flavor people at Wizards will be pleased.
All three of these reveals are pretty pushed. Dovin passes the "protects himself and/or generates card advantage" test of a 4 mana walker, but a control player would really want something better to stabilize against the strong aggro being printed, tapping out just to get a bigger shrink effect isn't that reliable turn 4 where jace did it turn 2 as an all-star, but notice it actually nicely negates a voltaic brawler, making it a 0/2 rather than 1/3 as it cannot activate its ability. But drawing a card and gaining 4 life isn't worth 4 mana if thats all he does.
It actually doesn't. Voltaic brawler's ability is a triggered ability, not activated. I'm not too impressed with Dovin's turning off of activated abilities since the creature can always activate their ability in response.
What bothers me is liberating combustion says "and/or" while verdant crescendo just says "and". So I can get two Nissas but only one Chandra.
You can't get two Nissas. You search both zones but you only have permission to get a single Nissa.
The reason Liberating Combustion says and/or is so you don't have to shuffle your library if you already see your Chandra in your graveyard and just pick her up from there. Verdant Crescendo makes you search your library regardless (for the land), so to save space they just have you search both zones.

That said, Dovin is pretty good, I can dig it. The constructs, meh, not for me.

Four mana to put a basic into play tapped and tutor for a bad planeswalker doesn't scream "playable", even almost, to me.

Where are the PW deck cards listed?Found them on page 1.
The guy who's a 4/4 Reach Vigilance while Nissa is on the table looks quite good with OGW Nissa. Curves right into it from her.
They are not. Just the exclusives were previewed today.

Feel free to tell me yours!
Why would Dovin being Azorius make Tezzeret as Esper less likely?
It actually doesn't. Voltaic brawler's ability is a triggered ability, not activated. I'm not too impressed with Dovin's turning off of activated abilities since the creature can always activate their ability in response.
yeah they'll be good as they barely lose anything post rotation
Turn 1: Plains, Authority of the Consulate
Turn 2: Island, hold up mana for Horribly Awry or Negate
Turn 3: land, Thalia or Reflector Mage or hold up mana for a counterspell or Spell Queller or Oath of Gideon
Turn 4: land, Gideon or Dovin Baan
This also gives us the option to splash C for Eldrazi Displacer or R for Nahiri, Saheeli Rai, or Chandra (competes for 4-drop, sadly) or Chandra.
Too much crossover with colors.

White: 0.5 (Dovin)
Blue: 1 (Dovin, Saheeli)
Black: 0
Red: 1.5 (Saheeli, Chandra)
Green: 1 (Nissa)
This points to either Liliana being in Aether Revolt (not likely IMO) or Tezzeret has to be at least partly Black.
The promo art we've seen makes it likely that the other PW in Aether Revolt will be at least partly White.
So Tezzeret is likely either Dimir or Esper in nature.
You are getting one card in both cases.
