I REALLY like unlicensed disintegration. If I were an actual planeswalker, this would be my signature spell maybe lol

The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can tough the poison of hatred without being harmed. Since beginning-less time, darkness thrives in the void but always yields to purifying light.
I invision a future where one is not mighty when he can silence a crowd with brutality,
but when he leaves them speechless with wisdom.
Honestly, what vehicles like this really needed were some 1-drop inspired cards. Continuous profit? Uh, yes please.
The more I think about it, the more I'm excited to build a Dimir artifact EDH deck with Bad Sygg. I can then throw in thes vehicles to power his ability off my weenies, and then the Tezzeretts for max value. I love it.
Also, Masako, the humorless seems like she can synergize really well with this crew mechanic, and is also on-color for the majority of crew effects/vehicles.
I'm tired of vehicles already. I don't want to be tapping creatures for dumb vanilla creatures.
I guess you did not even read the card.
I did read the card, I just think it's mediocre. Incidental looting is *okay* but when you have to start tapping your creatures to use your other creatures it's a waste.
Being mediocre and being vanilla are not the same thing. Please use correct terminology, of course people are going to assume you didn't read the card if you throw the term 'vanilla' around when the word doesn't apply to the card you're talking about.

Yeah, I like a lot of what I've seen from this set so far... except for vehicles.
I agree. I'm prolly underrating some of them a bit, but every time I see the vehicle frame my eyes glaze over a bit. I just can't bring myself to care about them at all.
Edit: I love that even if you don't have any artifacts in your deck, Unlicensed Disintegration is likely a better card than Murderfor BR/x decks due to CD rather than CC mana cost and the fact that your opponent now has to consider what artifacts you may have in your deck when it comes time to board.

Interested if you have the same opinion of the emerge creatures.
In fact, we haven't heard from Dovin Baan in any way since he was first revealed... no flavor text or art or anything, right?
Really been waiting to see what they do with him. He's a big mystery when it comes to theme, and I'm hoping he's someone I'll really like and have reason to use. He seems like a solid White/Blue character, but could be something different.
Doesn't help the last couple of days have been kind of unexciting for me too.

My bet is he is esper. Blue for sure and the consulate seem solid white/ black. Peace and civilization( white) thru oppression (black). The new legend supports that too.
I think we are seeing a super cycle too. A wedge Planeswalker in each block. Bant last time. Esper this time. Etc etc
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
These are some very disappointing birthday spoilers
The BurnMurder spell is good, but not really my style.
I was fairly certain we would see Dovin today—
it's unlike them to save a Planeswalker for the second week of spoilers.

Why? If anything I would imagine every other block since Tarkir, given we didn't get one in Zendikar and are almost assuredly getting one in Amonkhet (Bolas). Every other block is at least something of a pattern, though I kind of question how intentional it is.
And I don't think Dovin will be Esper personally, but I could see that happening.
So this card just makes me wonder what does a licensed disintegration looks like.
Fill out these forms in triplicate, stand in line for five hours, bring three forms of photo ID with you, two billing or bank statements to prove your address, a comprehensive list of all sexual partners, and your medical history. There will be a $100 convenience fee, and we do not accept cash, check, or money order. There will be a 3.5% convenience fee for convenience fees paid by credit or debit card.
Your disintegration license will arrive by mail in 6-10 weeks.
It's not really an opinion though. This example is the most straight forward I have ever seen on a card just being unquestionably better without being "strictly" better.
Terminates "bonus" matters in literally no format and is controlled completely by your opponent's deck making it unreliable.
The theoretical 2 mana spells bonus comes with a free lava spike which at least has the chance to be relevant in every game and it is controlled by your deck construction instead of theirs, making it incredibly more reliable.
It could've been 2 cmc if they wanted to make a better terminate but if that is the power you are expecting you may as well just quit now because you are going to be disappointed a ton.

listen man I'm with you on this one. But earlier this year I got in a near identical argument with someone claiming that incendiary flow was a strictly better lightning strike. I thought it was either he was crazy or just trying to troll everyone in the thread. I'm not saying the guy you are talking to is, and I mean no disrespect to him. what I'm pointing out is that in that argument I had, this person kept claiming that the 'exile' part of incendiary flow outweighed the 'instant' speed of lightning strike. Maybe that guy valued exile more than versatility, and even though it made no sense to me at all, maybe that's what you have here. maybe the person you are talking to values regeneration more than the possibility of 3 damage if you control an artifact. I agree that this new card would be a strictly better terminate if it cost the same, but I value direct damage far more than regeneration. I don't think there is any way to actually win that battle if you know what I mean; I sure couldn't on the burn spell conversation despite several people backing my argument.

It would be either identical or better than one of the best removal spells ever printed. What part of balance do you think that equates to?
"I hope to have such a death... lying in triumph atop the broken bodies of those who slew me..."
