I think the most interesting thing about it is that Baral (the antagonist from Chandra's origin story) is apparently alive and well.
I believe Baral mentioned that something was done to him after the whole burning down Chandra's village and killing her father thing. I'm surprised that he is still in their government.
Baan said that, yes.
Baral was probably just put on paid administrative leave.

And he's still a Chief. This contradicts what Dovin Baan has said in his story that whoever was responsible for the death of Kiran Nalaar and the presumed death of Chandra was reprimanded. This either means 1. the story on the Magic page and the story in cards aren't aligned, or 2. Baral somehow found a way to exonerate himself of his crimes or at least minimize the severity, perhaps by deflecting the charges onto someone else or by reducing the sentence to a mere slap on the wrist through bribes.
Is that a typo on Lost Legacy on the last line, "from hand"? Shouldn't it be "from his or her hand"?
Pouncing Kavu, it is unfortunately the proper use of the English language, even if it looks weird. I had to take a couple read overs of the card after you said something, and the "from hand" wording is correct because the player (most likely your opponent) is already noted. While grammatically correct for this reason, I think Wizards may also be testing a decrease in extra wording in their designs. So, the "from his or her hand" may have been removed to save space on the text box, just like "create" implies "put this token onto the battlefield."
I agree it's technically correct, but it still sounds awkward. By typo I didn't necessarily mean incorrect grammar, just that it doesn't seem like it's what they intended to write.

Or that Baan lied to the Gatewatch in order to appeal to their good graces. Baan is a calculating and methodical person, upon finding out who Chandra is it would make sense for Baan to calmly spin a lie to the Gatewatch like this.

You want UR artifact commander? Too bad! It's me, Kambal!
I really don't even know if I want to see that anymore. Maybe if it's a mythic, because that usually 'allows' cards to be a little bit better than 99% of the other junk.
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
It has to be in hand for you to get the draw effect and that's what makes this ridiculous against an opponent.
Ridiculous as in embarrassing to cast against an opponent? This takes my problem with extraction spells (card disadvantage) and guarantees it; I don't want to be casting this thing unless I make an opponents deck completely unplayable.
I think people in this thread need to re-read the card. It only lets you draw for cards removed from hand, not from library and graveyard
See, from my reading, it's the player who got extracted who draws the cards. You are never drawing anything unless you extract yourself.
nightwyrm is correct, but the fact you can remove dead cards from your hand and replace them at the same time is what makes this card nice. Have three Murder in your hand against a deck running few creatures? Lost Legacy lets you replace those. It's an interesting card, only time will tell how good it really is

Nope, but you did spot something there. This is clearly another tweak on templating designed to save space, and it does. There's been other ones recently.
OOOOOOOOOOOOR this is a templating tweak designed to remove some of the gender-based elements of Magic templating. (For the record, I did alwyas see 'his or her' as, yes, being a very unnecessary waste of space.)
Either way, the outcome is the same and an improvement because it saves space, allowing for slightly more wordy/complex effects.
Like all the others, I would expect the change will become standard practice going forward. No more 'his or her'.
Actually, Kambal will be replacing him at the helm of my Orzhov deck. The target is real when Karlov comes in, Kambal will slide under the radar a bit. Karlov also relies heavily on the "Gain Train", and I like to couple life gain with life loss as a form of payment a la Painful Quandry.
Actually, this is going to be a dedicated Stax build. "Oh, you want to counter/wrath/bounce/ramp? Add a 4 point swing to that"
This could also be really good in a Standard deck as well with the new Thalia.

Kambal is just good. He's on curve and punishes your opponent for playing Magic.
