with 247 as collector number and starting with the letter "I" if there are at least 3 basics each (as usual for first set in a block) I would say that dual color lands for this set as a cycle are unlikely.
JKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ. Also In comes before Is. So that's 12.
259 leaves us with exactly 5 land cards that come after In. They don't usually print a ton of weird land cards (Zendikar is the exception because it focuses on lands in general so they have more of them in those sets). So I wouldn't rule it out just yet.
I wonder if there's a collector number math thread for Kaladesh yet.
EDIT: I didn't realise until now that basic lands are numbered at the end in WUBRG order. So that only leaves us with 2 lands that comes after In. So I stand corrected - it is very unlikely.

Remember, it is still quite possible that there are several non-basic lands before it as well.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).

Hence "very unlikely" not "impossible". 'In' is pretty early in the alphabet although Wizards does seem to like land names that start with 'F'.

Rose tint my world, keep me safe from my trouble and pain.
Color me very excite. This land looks to have a ton of multiformat applications. Willing to be wrong about standard, but everything is already pointing to an artifact heavy theme for Kaladesh so I would be shocked if this land wasn't a player. It is interesting (and pleasing) to me that this is a rare and not a mythic though. As a legendary, themed utility land it could have easily been bumped up- see Mirrorpool. The fact that it doesn't etb tapped is also a bit surprising.
Is this real ?? If it is, looks really good in Lantern Control.
Yeah, seems an instant shoe in. The lifegain may be small, but a decent number the losses I had while playing the deck came down to 1-3 points of life away from complete stabilization. Might just be all around better than Sea Gate Wreckage especially for those that like toolboxy sideboards.
Playing since 1994: Currently MAGS (HomeBrew),Standard & Pauper (Pioneer and Modern are degenerate trash formats)
STOP using "dude/bro" as a pejorative or insult. Grow up.
Margaret Thatcher: “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”
Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Martin Luther King Jr.: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
So originally I had asked if Metalcraft had potential to be in Kaladesh, then I rescinded because I remembered them saying "No returning mechanics". Then I read the state of design article that said "we're going to make less named mechanics". Now I see this card and it all makes sense.
247/264? If memory serves, don't basic lands usually take up the last twenty slots of a set? By this number crunch, there isn't enough room for four of each basic. Kaladesh also seems to have fewer cards than either BFZ (274) or SOI (297), though in those cases the numbers were larger than average thanks to five additional Basic land slots for BFZ and the DFCs getting their own slots in SOI. 269 is the default for large sets, which means Kaladesh has five fewer slots, likely indicating five fewer basic lands than normal. This means basics likely only occupy the last fifteen slots of the set, leaving room for 249 other cards.
This does not have metalcraft, metalcraft is not back. There will be no returning mechanics. This is just a one off.
Technically, this does have Metaclraft, twice even. The only missing component is the actual name, which isn't mechanically significant. Metalcraft will not be a major mechanic for this block any more than Landfall was for Theros.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Correct correct correct, the name , "metalcraft" does nothing. It isn't a mechanic, or a keyword ability. It is a short hand slang for a threshold to be able to do a thing or not to turn off/on other text.
Landfall is not a mechanic, it is a triggered ability when a land enters, is Mill a mechanic or is it just a short way of saying 'player x puts top x into their grave' ?Lotsof things trigger that, and continue to see new ways to do that, so it is nigh impossible to name.
~~
In short they lied about no returning mechanics in essence. But it won't really matter. Does it? Can you speculate on buying cards now for standard/modern/legacy based ont hat alone? That is all that matters when knowing wether or not a thing will or won't be in the next set, before the prices rise and skyrocket or crash hard.
Such as mummies in Amonkhet. They should be, so Zombies should get some help for standard and plausibly Modern, and most mummies are white/black nature(not in mtg??) so maybe even some legacy stuff will care for them, such as clerics decks. But just saying, MADNESS IS RETURNING!!! Does diddly squat except for cards that do really well to trigger madness, One with Nothing is the only example that fits right. Knowing that madness was returning, this would have been a good buy cheaply before seeing the card swith it, when tthey were all released, you could determine wether or not it was worth the price and wether One with Nothing is more valuable due to the quality of those madness cards.

No, they did not. MaRo's exact words were "None of the named mechanics in Kaladesh are returning mechanics." Metalcraft isn't a named mechanic in Kaladesh.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
No non-evergreen keywords are returning. It'd be pretty hard to do a new block without using any pre-existing mechanics.
