Inventors' Fair
Legendary Land [R]
At the beginning of your upkeep, if you control three of more artifacts, you gain 1 life. T: Add C to your mana pool. 4, T: Sacrifice Inventors' Fair: Search your library for an artifact card, reveal it, put it into your hand, then shuffle your library. Activate this ability only if you control three or more artifacts.
Looks pretty good. A conditional instant speed Fabricate on a land that can't be countered. Also it gains life. This should be a staple in any colorless EDH deck. Metalcraft is back?
Instant EDH-staple in any deck interested in artifacts that can support a colourless land.

This does not have metalcraft, metalcraft is not back. There will be no returning mechanics. This is just a one off.
This seems spot on.
As an owner of a MIrran-Artifact cube, I think I am going out of flavor and making it an Artifact Cube - as Kaladesh will surely have a lot of contributions to my cube. This card is an instant staple there. I am pretty psyched about this set!!!
Oohh, first new mechanic: TotallyNotMetalcraft (since Metalcraft isn't returning since no non-evergreen mechanics are returning).

Which shows more cards to be revealed along with new story articles, presumably. Does this mean we'll continue to get story at an accelerated rate, to fit all these chapters into the preview season?
Maybe the watermark means it's a promo of some sort?
That would be helpful, as Standard, Modern, EDH, and possibly Legacy are going to want in on this.

The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.

Actually MaRo said there were no returning NAMED mechanics. Unnamed Metalcraft isn't necessarily out.
If they wanted to return Metalcraft, they would have returned metalcraft. Doing otherwise defeats the purpose of using ability words in the first place and would be dumb. I guarantee you there won't be more than two other cards with the metalcraft effect in this set, and I put at least 60% chance this is the only one.
The Gatewatch is investigating allegations of child abuse on Kaladesh, duh.
Actually, from what I can tell it looks like we are setting up for a U/(W/R) "Ruling Class" and a rebel class... something we haven't seen in Core story since Masques... so this could be interesting, if a little too close to Conspiracy. What strikes me about this though is that if the ruling class is calling in the Gatewatch to maintain the status quo there's an opportunity for the Gatewatch to turn turn around and help the rebels instead.

There was recently a move called Spotlight which is about the characters investigating child abuse in the Catholic Church.

I made a cube. It's called 'babe cube' because all the cards have babes on them. http://www.cubetutor.com/draft/58369

The number of auto-include colorless lands is getting a bit nuts.

Only if you're going to say that "There exists cards with this function" counts as a set mechanic.
Landfall wasn't a mechanic in SOI even if Tireless Tracker had a similar effect.
