I'll probably actually buy this -, sorry bandwagon crew! I don't have a Jhoira yet, so a foil will be nice. I do like the new artwork. Coat of Arms is something I've wanted for EDH but haven't bought due to the price. Lots of goodies here for various projects I don't have yet Don't care about playing them against each other so not really a consideration.
I'm buying it myself, just I find this deck illustrates how bad it is for wizards designers who are getting hamstrung by card popularity.

Still interested in getting a copy of this. As the new artwork alone has sold me on this, especially with The Unspeakable and Zo-Zu the Punisher as that was a pleasant surprise.
Quick edit: Wasn't their supposed to be preview cards in these X Vs Y decks?
New Unspeakable art. But doesn't look very Kamigawa.
That's funny, because it looks very Kamigawa to me. Indeed, the waterfall in question is all over Kamigawa art, most noticeably on every one of the Kamigawa islands and the art of Keiga, the Tide Star.

It doesn't look like the Kamitaki falls to me. Jhoira looks off as well, older and darker? IDK.
Hooray for Beacon of Tomorrows and Temporal Fissure reprints tho!

Look at Minamo art (the card). There are the same green islets like on the new Unspeakable art. They are just not so prominent on the original art.
Jhoira's art is better than the stupid big-eyed teen manga girl from FS, but still lacking. She is friggin' SUPPOSED to be older and darker. She was looking forty-something when she stopped aging thanks to Tolarian water. Look at the original Tinker. THAT, my boy, is Jhoira proper. Older face and even a bit graying hair, a result of the stress of living at post-Sunder Tolaria and surviving until Barrin & Co. returned. This art is not bad, she looks older, about 30, but a little too devious to my taste.
Same with Lovisa. She was also forty-something when she played a role in the story, and the original art AGAIN nailed it. She had a twenty-something old son, Lothar. The original art is a strong, middle-aged woman both regal and barbaric. Not a flirtatious young blonde.
Lovisa's art is downright disappointment, Jhoira is an improvement, but still far from ideal.

I think Lovisa's new art and flavor text are meant to show her during her younger days. Less Coldsnap, and more Ice Age. Just a theory.

All of this new-art Kamigawa stuff is making me mighty suspicious in my mind.
It probably doesn't mean anything, yet someone clearly went to some effort updating the Kamigawa style guide.
It is possible they intend to release a "Planeshift: Kamigawa" like they have done with Zendikar, Innistrad, and Kaladesh.
Either way, since a more modern Kamigawa appeared in Commander, and WotC have learned through MaRo's tumbler that the setting of Kamigawa is decently popular (but not the sets), they've updated it so they can use it more in auxiliary products. I am fairly certain they have no plans on using it for a standard legal set currently.
But Personally I've always been of the opinion that if the flavor of a world is good, then it should be given a second chance, if not in a standard legal set, then in an auxiliary product where they can push the power level without breaking standard.

Agreed entirely. I really feel we should get a set like Conspiracy set on Kamigawa. Or get more Kamigawa cards in Commander products. But I do feel a full non-Standard set is the way to go.

Agreed, and now that someone on MaRo's tumblr asked him, well told him, that a Booster product aimed at the commander crowd would be appreciated and put that idea into his head (after asking what his other followers thought, to an overwhelmingly positive response), we may get one that is neither a masters product or a conspiracy product.
I certainly can't speak for anyone but myself, but a booster product with a lot of commander staples, as well as new cards, themed after a less popular setting such as Kamigawa would be amazing.

Do they downshift the rarity of some cards in the duel decks? Seeing two Call of the Herd suggests that it is uncommon in this print.
Well, they have upshifted the rarity of cards previously (Seriously, Lord of the Pit as a mythic?), so I wouldn't put it past them. But I think it is unlikely, unless they intend to reprint it soon at that rarity.

After another look at the article, I'm wrong. Wizards posted a picture of Call of the Herd with the duel deck symbol as rare. So you get two copies of it as rare.
I think the main problem the deck has is that you'll be able to pick up a lot of the commander and casual staple cards from it for less than the MSRP of the deck. So if someone is after it for singles I'd just hold off until the prices come down. 90% of the deck is priced high due to scarcity rather than actual play and the only card in there that will likely hold value is Rift Bolt and maybe Coat of Arms. Beacon of Tomorrow is going to drop hard.
Still, I tend to be one of those guys that likes to just collect these things and play them even if they are pure jank and completely unwieldy disasters of deck building. Seriously, the curve in these decks is a crime against nature. Also, still not going to get over the fact they put a suspend based legendary as the blue/red deck lead in, then went scatterbrained on everything instead of focusing in on the suspend theme. Does wizards just want to print natural disasters? The duel decks are barely playable jank as is, and this is even worse. It's like they wanted to make 60 card commander decks, and the blue / red one depends on Yu-Gi-Oh heart of the cards level luck to even operate!

And imho that new Guttural Response art is awesome. When was the last time we saw the gorilla people of Terisiare? (Well, precisely the last time was Simian Brawler, but still).
I'm gonna get so excited if they ever announce a Kamigawa supplemental product. Between this and stuff like Silent-Blade Oni, R&D clearly still has interesting ideas for that setting...
