Why would Chandra not be a burn planeswalker? That is her entire thing. She isn't, and has never been the "Mixed bag of everything red can do" planeswalker. Why would she start now?
Same reason Nissa was the elf planeswalker and never was the "Lands and Tokens" planeswalker until she started.
While she also recieved appropriate treatment in the story, shifting her towards speaking with the land and such. In the "Homesick" story, Chandra did show some desire for change, but she wanted to stop burning stuff accidentally, rather than to stop burning stuff in general.

They didn't want a main character to be Donald Trump level racist, so they retconned her attachment to elves. Now she is some stoned hippie. Unless Pyromania starts becoming a huge political issue, Chandra will be the "Fire fixes everything" planeswalker.

MTGSalvation; Where the whining is a time honored tradition, and enjoying the game is trolling.
+1 up to one target creature gains menace until end of turn
0 Chandra becomes an X/X elemental creature until end of turn where x is equal to her loyalty with indestructible and menace
-5 deals 5 damage to target creature and 5 damage to that creatures controller
It's "balanced" in the sense that it's really bad? If she had Haste it might be gabyDeece.
Also that art is amazing but everyone already knew that.
What about using energy into the planeswalker? Like the more times you minus her, the larger her Ult potentially becomes?
Chandra 1RR
+ 1 Exile the top card of your library, you may play it this turn. You may deal damage equal to the revealed card's converted mana cost to target creature.
- X Discard any number of cards and draw that many minus one. Add one Energy counter for X, and create an X/X token.
- 4 Chandra deals damage to each opponent and each creature that opponent controls equal to the number of Energy counters you control.
4 Loyalty
Something like that can create energy for other cards, and give a reason for saving energy up. She also can create creatures to man vehicles this way.
chandra, along with cataclysm gearhulk were already spoiled by mistake on friday, for like 5mins in the mtg europe french site
+1 exile the top card of your library, until end of turn you may play that card, if u dont, chandra torch of defiance does 2 dmg to target opponent
+1 add RR to your mana pool
-3 chandra torch of defiance deals 4 to creature
-7 you get emblem: each time u cast spell this emblem does 5 dmg to target creature or player
4 loyalty, mana cost 2RR
im guessing somebody could have lost his job for that slip....
it was in the site of mtg europe...you probably wont find it there anymore, it was taken down in less than 5 mins.... obviously someone made a big mistake.... and since the gearhulk(which was spoiled today) was pretty spot on... ill wager chandra is too... well just have to wait and see
a friend of mine has the print screen of both but i cant rly put it here.... since every numbnut from here to timbuctu would post it(think about the poor IT guy, if he wasnt caught, he sure would if the image goes public).... so lets just leave it as a rumor, shall we?
Of that were the real version that would be.... Pretty good. A ritual or impulse draw as +1's? Yes please. It would also be the first quad activated ability 'walker since JTMS if I'm not mistaken.

"Pop in, find a dragon, roast a dragon."
-Chandra Nalaar
If this is legit, seriously legit, I will buy a hundred dozen playsets and play her in every Red deck I own!
A serious over-exaggeration of course, but for seriously. I will get a mint version and have that beauty locked, sealed & graded. Nothing less than a perfect 10 will suffice.
Between the art and the supposed abilities this will (could) be the best Chandra ever printed!
im not... i mean i wasnt the one to pick it up, but the guy who did just doesnt have the smarts to pull this kind of trick by himself(I.E. hes a pretty straight guy, just obsessed with mtg... and on france) AND he actually nailed the gearhulk....
I think I've said on this website in the past, but Chandra is by far my favorite planeswalker (Garruk, a close second). I own every planeswalker card iteration of Chandra printed and this card is giving me a serious case of the "Gimmes." I'm actually curious as to how she would slot into U/R Thermo Alchemist decks. A Temur Burn deck with Chandra and Saheeli Rai in standard is a most, I think. Does anyone know how soon online sites like Starcity Games and Tcgplayer will start pre-orders?
She's actually well over the power curve for 4 cmc in a standard format. I doubt she will be as broken as Jace is, but with her being the best possible red planeswalker ever printed the demand on her is going to be insane. At least with all eyes on her no one will be looking at Aetherworks Marvel. Well, unless someone decides they want to use the former to FIND chandra...

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
marvel is actually a house, and energy is like ez pz to get.
regarding chandra, she is certainly the best printed chandra, but i think the jtms comparisons are taking it a little far. she may break into modern, but she wont see legacy play. happy to see a decent less specific red walker though, her unfocused abilities are part of why she is good.

Given how poorly all the sources I've seen have actually analyzed this card and instead just went "ZOMG CHANDRA TMS!" Lets take a look at the two walkers...
First ability +2 loyalty lets you see the opponents next card and choose if they get to draw it next turn or not. Good is an understatement.
Second ability: Draw three cards and put two back on top of your library. So basically, we got a brainstorm on a stick.
Third ability -1: bounce a creature back to the opponents hand. That's some really good protection there Jace.
Fourth ability -12: Can we just call this instant death? Blow away the opponents entire library and assuming they have a hand at this point, it becomes their library.
First ability +1 loyalty is exile your top card and either play it, or leave it exiled and do 2 to the opponent. So basically limited card advantage.
Second ability +1 loyalty add 2 R to your mana pool. So basically she lets you cast more stuff while leaving mana open.
Third ability -3 loyalty do 4 damage to a creature the opponent controls. That's pretty expensive and honestly using the ability likely works in the opponents favor anyway.
Fourth Ability -7 loyalty you get an emblem that lets you Lava Axe the opponent or a creature they control whenever you cast a spell. That's pretty good control.
So, looking at the price of both and weighing them equally Chandra in no way compares to Jace. She's a power house and will see constructed play for sure in standard and potentially modern since her ultimate works great for a number of decks, but finding a home for her may take time. Also, her limiting factor is that she does not protect herself in a useful fashion: She is depending completely on the player to provide protection. That's going to make things rough.
But we can see why she has her first ability in the upcoming kaladesh set: The new set has a distinct lack of spells that directly hit the opponent. Harnessed Lightning, Welding Sparks, and obviously Die Young all hit creatures only, so she basically adds a mode at sorcery speed to convert these cards to strait damage to the opponent. That fact alone is probably going to prop her value up for a bit, but also a lot of people are trying to jam her into the wrong places. She isn't a burn deck card like I thought previously, as Bedlam Reveler does what I want for having a game plan that lasts into turn 5 and 6 better in that sort of deck. She feels like she belongs in some sort of RB or RW control shell. I'm strongly going boros as well.

This is only Partially true. Her +1 can give you RR that you can use to cast a 2-man red removal spell. True, you need to have said spell in hand, and it is conditional removal, but its something, and it's on a + ability (unlike Jace). Also, if you cast her on T5 in BR, she can +1 to cast the new BRmurder with upside (forgot the name of the card).
Also, her +1 gets her to 5, which is not a trivial number to attack into, whereas Jace "defended" himself by -1 putting him to 2.
I agree that Chandra, ToD <<< Jace, TMS, and I agree with most of your analysis. However, I think Chandra does a decent job of protecting herself.
EDIT: also, the time to the ultimate is shorter w/ chandra. I dont think I ever saw many JTMS ultimates, but we will see plenty Chandra, ToD ultimates.

For Chandra, it's literally the entire game plan when you play her and the designers built her to focus on getting to the ult exclusively. Her first two abilities simply aid the player in getting spells to either protect her or draw fire away and once we get to turn 7-8 the game is over.

realistically, this is not a new thing just for Chandra. At least lately, they have been giving us walkers that are designed to ultimate, as opposed to ones where it would be nice. Nahiri is the best example as she can ultimate two turns after casting her and it's really easy to get their with a +2 madness enabler in a madness color. Jace unraveller of secrets ultimates more than any other planeswalker I've seen at FNM, but mostly because of the shell he works best in, control. The new nissa ultimates the turn after playing her. And to a lessor extent, Tamiyo is pretty easy to ultimate also. I don't think this Chandra was meant to use her -3 to protect her unless absolutely necessary. I think she is meant to either be in a control deck, or the turn 4 play in a tempo deck with cheap red removal to use her +1 on.
As far as comparing her to JTMS, I think that's silly. No planeswalker card will ever compare to him again. he was broken to the point of not even surviving the standard he was in, so they will never make anything like that again if they can help it. She is simply just the best red walker ever printed and it's because their is no one good way to play her, and she can fit in basically any red shell, but I think would be worst in an aggro shell
