No, thankfully that is only ONE of the two walkers. Still, the fact they wasted a slot on Domri Rade is pretty much making me think this is another MM 2015 unless they really put needed reprints in the set. If the only thing of major worth in the entire box is Liliana, Snapcaster, and Zendikar fetchlands we're in for some trouble because none of the stores are going to make money on their orders for a good long while. The zendikar fetchlands might help push box sales, but you need good cards to fill the entire box out with or that is putting way too much of that 240 msrp value into a few good rares and mythics.
They're not putting fetches in a limited release set.
Unless they decided they never want fetchs in standard again. So if you see fetchs in MM17 that would be a good indication that fetchs are never coming back to standard. Not a guarantee but a good indication.
Which is, mind boggling to me, but I agree. If fetches are in this, people will buy the ***** out of it if only because you are not seeing those again in Standard.
Why people hate fetch lands, I will never know, do you like bad mana?
There was a lot of negativity around the 4 colour good stuff standard that occurred when they mixed battle lands and fetches. Hopefully, with the rotation of battle lands, we will be able to have enemy fetch lands in standard since they're not that powerful without proper dual lands. The other problem was the loading screens, a lot of games spending a lot of time shuffling, especially on coverage.
If I am right though, that means we won't be seeing any fetch lands until fall at the earliest.
Well, some people are looking for reprints being done much like how other games like yugioh are going about it, which makes the constructed format far more affordable than how it is now. Wizards should go that route, but it's like "good luck Convincing the traditional guys who have ptsd from chronicles who seem to linger in management and the high positions. "
Well, some people are also into huffing paint; doesn't mean that's a popular opinion. There's a reason why inferior games like Yugioh exist and that's because they can't go toe-to-toe with MTG, so they must mass print shiny objects in order to attract players. Oh, and also because of Japan being Japan. But yeah, you should totally present your case to those traditional ptsd guys who have managed to squeeze eight consecutive years of financial growth out from such an expensive game.

These arguments get a lot of play in community groups like this, but I think we forget that WotC has a pretty long memory even if the community at large doesn't. They remember that fetches without duals is fine, because they remember that the Zendikar fetches were fine. So while we can be certain they wouldn't line up fetches and duals again (unless they didn't have time to correct course after the rotation change), I don't think there's some "Khans means no more Standard fetches!" mentality going on at WotC.
I realize we don't disagree on this; just pointing it out because this line of reasoning gets brought up a lot.

Yup, they are doing wonderful work this last year. I think that if they did reprint fetches in this set that is one of the two worst possibilities we've got. I want to see them reprinted, but they should be reprinted in a standard set such as the one coming in september as that would get more into circulation and actually put some life into modern deck building. That and september is the ideal time to do it since BFZ rotates out and we no longer have perfect mana in the format.

"Bizzaro world" would be a land where Hasbro actually makes business decisions based on what people want rather than what's best for their stockholders. Do I wish this fantasy land were real? Absolutely. Unfortunately, this is not the case and the sooner you come to terms with reality, the sooner you'll realize that *****ing and moaning about affordability is a waste of time for everybody involved. Hasbro doesn't give a ***** about you, me, or Timmy down the street (unless we own a notable amount of HAS shares). What they do care about is expanding their flagship subsidiary in order to meet quarterly earnings expectations, so if anything, use your wallet to voice your displeasure and start giving your money to Konami. I'm flattered that you think I'm petty enough to care about "post points", but I'm also curious how you manage to confuse fact-based counter-arguments to your self-admitted "pretty outrageous claims" with senseless bashing.
Statistically, it's likely that your LGS exists solely due to the existence of Magic and its secondary market; you buy a product that actually retains value as time goes on rather than buying worthless pieces of paper with ultra secret holographic fonts that glow in the dark. As of this moment, we have no verification of anything other than the box art and the art of three booster packs; no amount of misinformation churned out of the youtube rumor mill warrants this type of whining and drama. If MM17 turns out to be a ***** show then the player base has every reason to be dissatisfied and choose not to purchase it. But ripping a set that we know almost nothing about is nothing short of childish, especially when it comes to price, because again, we have very little official details. However, at the end of the day, WoTC is still a slave to Hasbro and that means regardless of any of these "modern-killing" conspiracy theories, the set will most likely contain enough value to justify MSRP. Ya know, unless they decided to use your Bizzaro world as a new plane and end up printing hundreds of thousands of abysmal-quality booster products in order to sabotage their brand.

They won't - they will reveal cracking stuff first, drip by drip by drip- good stuff, great stuff- Mythic first, rares uncommons and mythics mixed after. It will be Christmas for all MTG players, the odd one will whiff a bit but the good stuff will keep coming in the carefully managed spoiler season.....until the whole thing gets spoilt, and you realise that Santa has left some brown smelly ones down your chimney and the commons/uncommons have little value in whilst the packs are stupidly expensive lottery tickets. Meanwhile someone is giggling in R and D as they play with the next Conspiracy set with large numbers of reprints you hoped would be in MM3.

That being said, I must agree with Joban8 here that Wizards knows exactly what they're doing. It's worked for 24 years....I think they understand better than any other CCG out there.
As for MM17...I think it's absolutely necessary for them to reprint the original Zen fetches in this set, as rares, with new artwork. After the horrible product they released last year, my guess is that they will give the players a little more with this one. Comparing the prefect balance of MM2013 with the top heavy lottery tickets of MM2015 isn't even fair. My hope is that Wizards realized what they did with the last MM set and made some very necessary adjustments to this product. If not, they may be seeing a large reduction of consumer sales in their future.

So if you see fetchs in MM17 that would be a good indication that fetchs are never coming back to standard.
How do you figure that?
Because the only sensible reason to put them in a MM set that I can possibly think of, is to avoid running them through Standard. Everything else points to a Standard set reprint:
- a Standard reprint would more effectively lower the price of the fetches, which is kind of the point
- putting them in a MM set would eat up too much of their calculated EV in the MM set, which would mean that the rest of the set would be weak
- a Standard reprint would make the Standard set fly off the shelves, making them vast amounts of cash money
It then follows that if they put them in MM despite all these reasons not to, it means that they really, really don`t want fetches in Standard.

Have to agree with this.
No matter through how much mental gymnastics people are willing to go through to justify the costs of Magic, the reality is that other games have been moving in the opposite direction for quite some time now. YGO and Pokemon are both cheaper, and last I checked YGO is the most selling card game of all time, while Pokemon is experiencing a massive player boom right now. And don't even get me started on the digital aspect. Hearthstone is free to play and has only been around for three years, yet it already earns more than Mtg. Shadowverse is a no-name IP that has been around for a year, and made 5x more money than MTGO this year. There are plenty of other games out there that are way cheaper and more succesful than Magic. So I don't get how people can talk with a straight face as if making Magic cheaper will somehow kill it. My favourite part is when people compare Magic to expensive hobbies like collecting cars or golfing, and then tell themselves that Magic is cheap for a hobby. Here's a question for you: If 14 year old Timmy will have to decide between playing Magic or hearthstone, do you think he will go ''Sweet! Magic is so cheap compared to golfing!''. Or will he go: ''Damn, magic is so expensive compared to Hearthstone.'' ?
links to these facts please. all of them, like yugioh earnings and player turn out vs magic and the same for pokemon. not saying I don't believe you but a little credibility goes a looong way. also I think you miss the boat when it comes to LGS and secondary market which there's essentially non for both pokemon and yugioh. I have 3 lgs here on vancouver island, non carry yugioh or pokemon, and there is absolutely no interest in either (I also live on an island and realize I'm an isolated market).
little Timmy ages of 10-16 also don't earn their own cash so essentially their cash flow is how willing their parents are to invest on little Timmys hobby. for example last night at commander night, 13 year old kid had 2 tier 1 modern decks and several rediculous commander builds all wOrth thousands. mom and pop definitely picked up the tab.
The 3 local/semi-local shops I visit all exist due to Magic, and Magic alone. When 2 of my friends where seriously looking at setting up a store for Table Top wargaming (Warhammer and all that) the shop owners they spoke to told them that if they didnt support the Magic community with product and events, the store would be dead on arrival.
Thats the reality here, and its driven in large part by eternal (or whatever Modern is) and secondary markets. I have a store here that does nothing but Modern! lol
YGO isn't cheaper. Investments in YGO are catastrophic. As someone who played it for 12 years and started getting back into it casually lately (I quit when Trishula was banned, had played since LOB before that), I assure you it's the most tenuous investment. Just the other day the game was turned on its head with this new Link nonsense. You'd commend them for slowing down the power creep and floodgate but anyone with as much experience with Konami as I knows they'll cash cow it soon enough. It's a shame, YGO has potential to be great, and in many ways is until Konami gets absurd again.
MTG is the best CCG out there, but I do agree there is room for improvement.
I mean, you either have a game where cards hold no value like YGO or hold too much like in MTG, I prefer the latter, and I think YGO could take a page out of that book. Lately though, I will admit YGO has shown considerable improvement. MTG is delivering Egypt World so they're always giving players what they want and are invested in our demands, so I don't feel MTG is worthy of complaint ATM.
How do you figure that?
