This is 'meh', to 'super meh' at best. Half of this product I could just go into the store and buy right now. I'm surprised that if they were releasing something like this that it wouldn't just be the original commander sets. At least then those would be product that might be scarce.
I think WOTC's math is off. 30 + 30 + 33 + 35 equates to 128, not 165...

i think everyone would have been happier if they just released the five original 2011 commander decks instead.
they could sell it for $150 to get more copies of the expensive cards out there.

Why would they want to spend more money on printing and get paid less?
Heavenly Inferno: YES! That one alone costs more than the MSRP.
Evasive Maneuvers: Meh. Eternal Bargain or Mind Seize would have been better.
Guided by Nature: Ok. At least it's not the Blue one!
Plunder the Graves: Yes. Most valuable deck that year by a long shot.
Still, it would have been best to reprint the 5 Wedge ones, since they were all so limited in print, and costly in price.
Also, I don't think they know what an "anthology" is- this is more like a (flawed) "greatest hits".
This should have just been a reprint of the original release like the DDA.

Because they still make a boatload of money and the most important thing is the need to increase the availability of the original decks.
You can find the 2013-2015 ones at reasonable prices fairly easily. I bought mind seize up for $30-35 after they did the second wave. Its on ebay now for $30 with several sellers while the best ebay price for the originals (all 5) is $500.

Making more money > Making less money, and making you happy.

It's not random. It's one for each of the first four Commander Deck Cycles.
It's just unfeasible to print 5 Commander decks for one box, especially when WotC really pushes the "Multiplayer is 4 people total, in some combination." See Archenemy, Conspiracy, Two-Headed Giant, etc.
And yes, Guided by Nature WAS that popular.
Remember, by the time this comes out, WotC's push on Commander will be 6 years old, and we'll almost be at whatever Commander set is coming out after the 4-Color Commanders.
No Mind Seize, no money.
That said, I'm glad they are reprinting older Commander product. It's just overpriced for what they are giving us.

The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.

I know Mind Seize was expensive when it came out because of True Name, but that's at 8 bucks now, and is available online for like, $40. Heavenly Inferno goes for $200-$300.
I wonder why they moved the Anthologies line product to the already super-crowded summer, when Christmas makes a lot more sense for such a high-end product...
i hope it doesn't mean we're getting 2 next year. I really don't want this line to fail until after they reprint all the duel decks...
Trying to piggyback on the success of DDA. Uses the name but has nothing in common with the actual idea. I feel like this is a super common trend for WOTC.
Formula:
1. Come up with a new idea that is successful due to its creativity, value, and execution.
2. Push out a second version with a similar name.
2a. eliminates creativity
2b. remove value by including junk
3. Profit

I would take DDA Anthologies 2 if it includes the duel decks 5-8.
that's what I was originally expecting from the product line. but then we didn't get anything at all for a while, so I assumed it flopped. but now, two products in 6 months, but both with way worse buzz than the original. Hoping they realize the actual problems, and don't pull the plug completely.

Most likely this will be just like Kaladesh and the New Archenemy for me, singles only.
Bladewing, the Risen
and all the stuff in the Meren deck.
I can see myself getting all the singles about $10 no more.
Selling some cards I don't want.
Generally less than tcg mid.
