ah good a plane that will return to traps, curses, mummies, Quicksand, Desert and Desert Twister reprint. Also with a possable form of devotion.
Desert Twister will not be reprinted. It's out of color pie. The other two though, maybe.
How is it out of color pie? Beast Within begs to differ, just as a more recent example.
Beast Within is also out of Color Pie. The guy currently in charge of the color pie says so. Green does not get spells to destroy creatures unless that spell needs a creature on your side to work.

Does Green yet have a card that says "destroy target noncreature permanent"? Because it seems like they are happy to destroy lands, artifacts, and enchantments. I'd like there to be more ways to deal with planeswalkers in general (in all colours). The only thing Green doesn't really do is creatures anymore.

This better have Cyclopean Mummy reprint. A Vengeful Pharaoh reprint would also fit, but, I am okay with not having it. I just want more mummies!!! Because they are zombies!!!! woo zombies.
And oh geez, this kicks out BFZ/Oath, so it is going to need the legs of SOI/EMN zombies for tribal.. oo,well guess I won't be playing zombies in standard

Wanted -Zombie Foils and older expensive Zombie stuff. High Priority- Beta Z Master/ Int. Collector's Edition.
Simply ruling it would be too boring, so let's look at something else.
Step 1 Establish yourself as a god on a plane
Step 2 build an religious system revolving around you and maybe some other beings (naturally they need to be under you) so lesser deities
Step 3 Build into that system a path to an afterlife, eternal life or whatever
Step 4 Make the path challenging, so that when they face it, the beings with a spark may trigger said spark
Step 5 after the new planeswalkers traveled for their first time and come home, you present yourself before them as their god and explain that their new gift is a blessing from you
Step 6 Recruit them into your network as loyal underlings serving their "god"
Step 7 Profit
2. The Gatewatch will most likely be involved through Belzenok or how the Egyptian demon was called, so Liliana is probably in the set.

Thanks to DarkNightCavalier from Heroes of the Plane Studios for this sick Signature.
If the Gods are in fact real, and not a deception on Bolas's part, I'd be surprised if they're not monocolor. They'll almost certainly play in a different space than Theros's Gods (probably using something other than Devotion), so the overlap of color combinations shouldn't matter much.
Also, the "claim an honored place in the Afterlife" thing, and the Egypt theme in general, make me suspect there's going to be some level of emphasis on the graveyard and/or creature-death in Amonkhet. (Maybe the return of Morbid?) It'd dovetail nicely with the last six months of SOI block's time in Standard.

Green can almost get Desert Twister: "Destroy target noncreature permanent, artifact creature, enchantment creature, land creature, or creature with flying" is entirely in color-pie for it.

"The true measure of all heroes is not what they achieve, but who they inspire." —Triumph of Gerrard
I'm curious how the Gods will work here, since I doubt we'll get Devotion back so soon. I would love to see a "Devotion to [Card Type]" instead of a color something like "This God isn't a creature unless..."
W You have X Enchantments on the Battlefield.
U You have X Artifacts on the Battlefield.
B X creatures have died this turn.
G You have X Creatures on the Battlefield.
R You have cast X instant or sorceries this turn.
The proposed B and Red gods would have a disadvantage compared to the W, U and G based on counting permanents vs spells, abilities, and targeting requirements.
Their powers depend on abilities also: the blue and black ones could have better static effects/cost less.

Yes that could be a factor. I suppose if the incentive for them not to be a creature was high enough, the disadvantage could be negligible.
Anyway, Theros should have an Elysian Fields so why does this have a heroic afterlife, but not Theros too? Hope we see Elspeth in Theros!Elysian Fields then when we return.
I think Lore-Wise it did, but there was also the "subtle prodding" that the afterlife the people of Amonkhet are fighting for may not exist.
I got a sense of that as well.
Lilliana isn't just perfect in this set for her demon Bezelbub or whatever it was - as a necromancer this should be a very interesting plane for her. Zombie Pharaoh mummies! Perhaps Bolas is Pharaoh here - after all the Pharaoh is a ruler AND a god so Bolas could be both without upsetting the gods themselves here. Unless he created them of course.
Mark Rosewater doesn't have all the say about what gets printed. Of course, if it did get reprinted, it would be nice to see the shark tornado art.
No, but he did just have an article on how hard he works to prevent color breaks from entering sets, to the point of forming a team to do it because he couldn't handle everything himself.
It just seems very, very, very unlikely to get a reprint, is all I'm gettin' at.
Not only is it the Egyptian themed black everyone was expecting, Nicol Bolas returns! I wonder what his machinations will be this time, and how will the Gatewatch deal with a plane of Nicol Bolas worshippers? Find out at your local card store in April, 2017!

Probably not... they are hinting at Egypt-inspired gods.

Because green never gets to steal from other colour's pies. Oh wait...

On spoiled card wishlisting and 'should-have-had'-isms:
Bramblecrush, Chain of Acid, Destructor Dragon, Display of Dominance, Mold Shambler, Nessian Demolok, Rootgrapple, Sylvan Primordial, Terastodon, Woodfall Primus
Noncreature permanent has been Green's part of the color pie for a while.

Generally less than tcg mid.
