Ultra Pro, at GAMA, put an image of what to expect. Gods on playmats, PW's on sleeves, and looks like we'll be getting Lily, Gideon, and Nissa at least in the upcoming set.
So we got a rehash of The Dark with Innistrad, an Antiquities rehash with Kaladesh, and now an Arabian Nights rehash with Amonkhet? Cool! But after that, there's no more OG nostalgia to exploit, right? Unless they print Magic: Random Pile of Garbage with a Few Insane Cards as an alpha redux.

Not at all. Kamigava was 100% Japanese, while Khans didn't have anything to do with Japan.

Temur = Russians.
Mardu = Mongols.
Sultai = Indians.
Abzan = Not quite sure. I'd say some kind of arabs that were/are living near the Caucasus region?
Hey, Ravnica was Homelands/Fallen Empires redux. Next we'll have an pirate/nautical theme to match Mirage. I can go all day folks!
What. How do you get Homelands from Ravnica?
If anything Innistrad borrows one or two aspects from Homelands, (Serra is worshiped and missing, with Hazduhr the Abbot being the faithful but aging high priest/Avacyn is worshiped and missing, with Mikaeus, the Lunarch being in Hazduhr's role, and evil decadent Vampire nobles).

I'm pretty sure that the Sultai were more Southeast Asian than Indian.
The interesting part is that the Mongols controlled all of those areas at the height of their power. This explains why they all use the word "Khan" but have pretty distinct cultures other than that (the Mongols didn't try to assimilate anyome they conquered, if you surrender to thrm and pay tribute they would let you do basically whatever).

That is what made it so cool son even if we go to Egypt what area. The erea of the three waring kingdoms, the concord Egypt after Rome, Egypt at it's peak of power, Egypt wile it after it was conquered by the Turks? Or Egypt during the Crusades were the invaders are the Gate-watch.
Is it wrong for me to want Bolus to be the good guy hear, I mean it is his plain and we don't know if he has done anything besides killing Ajoni's brother that would really portray him as evil.
Let's not forget that Khans block is bottom-up, meaning they started with a mechanical direction (in this case, the three-set draft structure) and built the flavor from that. The story surrounding the block's design and worldbuilding is a little lengthy (you can read Maro's Khan Do Attitude articles for more info) but the Asian cultural influences only came in after it was decided that the setting was going to be "a world in bad shape", it was going to be Sarkhan's home world, the historic extinction of the Dragons was a plot point, and the four (later five) clans were implemented. So no, KTK is not a rehash of or counterpart to Kamigawa.
We really ought to get this topic back on track to Amonkhet.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Is it wrong for me to want Bolus to be the good guy hear, I mean it is his plain and we don't know if he has done anything besides killing Ajoni's brother that would really portray him as evil.
Just off the top of my head, he also subjugated a continent on Dominaria, plunged all of Alara into war, and orchestrated the release of the eldrazi.

Killed Ugin, thus causing the genocide of the Tarkiri Dragons, and also wreaked horrible vengeance on the Umezawa family like for what Tetsuo did to him.
Of maybe India, Persia or old Turkey has hints of Abzan?

1) Don't get your panties in a bunch, I was being facetious
2) It was an off-the-cuff remark loosely related to the fact that Fallen Empires/Homeland/The Dark "block" was tribal or "tribal" and Ravnica was divided explicitly along guild or color lines.
It was a joke, so don't take my analysis so seriously.

After he absorbed the conflux he tried to destroy Alara for the lols when he could have just left, indirectly responsible for Emrakul on Innistrad, is more then willing to torture and/or kill his followers/slaves who displease him and on the flip timeline of Tarkir now his attack left Ugin in his healing coma and thus the events of Khanfall happened since Ugin couldn't help keep balance.

I think we've more than established that Bolas is one baaaaaaaad mother(SHUT YOUR MOUTH).
It isn't really fair to still blame Bolas for the death of the Tarkiri dragons. It hasn't happened anymore. (Check out that weird use of verbs. Time travel's cooky.)

Attempted murder is still a crime.
That gets him on Ugin, but all of Tarkir's dragons? If you kill someone who was going to save people and they die are you charged with all of their deaths as well?

Whether he'd be legally responsible is almost absurd to think about. Morally? Well, did he know what would result? I doubt he'd care either way. And the fact of the matter is he did indirectly cause millions(?) of other deaths, regardless of how Dragonkind treated the "lesser" beings of Tarkir.

Well Bolas rarely cares about others, living or dead, in any fashion other than how they could better serve him. But I don't really get what your saying here. Are you talking about the people that were eventually killed by the dragons of Tarkir? Or the dragons that were killed by people? Or something else? Either way, I was just pointing out that, the singular crime of wiping out Tarkirian(?) Dragons doesn't reasonably fall on him, because as was said, it never actually happened (anymore? timetravel...).

Plus what if Bolus saved Tamiyo so she could send Sarken back in time and fix his error of killing Ugin. Did you ever think that might be why Sarken was so drawn to save Ugin.
Plus I'm not saying what he was doing was right; you can do the wrong thing for the right reason but that doesn't mean it was right. Nahiri sent Emrikule to Indestrod as pay back for Sorin imprisoning her, sealing the Eldrozi on her plain and not coming to help in her time of need.
So would say he got what was coming to him but others would say that Nahiri went to far. Their was also no knowing if Nahiri knew about the gate watch and the fact that the Eldrozi were defeated. That is to say the two weakest of the three, Third being so powerful they could only seal her a way on the moon witch will for ever change the plain like Zendikar.
I'm just saying that we have no idea what Bolus is truly after and why he has done everything so far, so this could show him in a new light or just how mad for power he is who know?
And Khans wasmogolian themed, not chinese
Imo it wasn't even close to Kamigawa 2.0.
The Mongolians did invade China.
The Mongol Empire under Genghis Khan started the conquest with small-scale raids into Western Xia in 1205 and 1207. By 1279, the Mongol leader Kublai Khan had established the Yuan dynasty in China and crushed the last Song resistance, which marked the onset of all of China under the Mongol Yuan rule.
Plus what if Bolus saved Tamiyo so she could send Sarken back in time and fix his error of killing Ugin. Did you ever think that might be why Sarken was so drawn to save Ugin.
What? Since when did Tamiyo even meet Bolas or Sarkhan?
I was scavenging through my old collection and realized we may see Ground Seal again. I forgot that card even existed.

I think we can all agree there were a variety of cultural references from across Asia in Tarkir (and yes, at the height of Mongol power, they basically owned all of it, because they conquered the freaking world), but Amonkhet is entirely different in that it's specifically referring to Egypt in the same way that Kamigawa is very specifically centered on Japan. I don't think a comparison to Tarkir is all that helpful.
Egyptan history is insanely long, and ridiculously deep. They'll need to choose a center on which to focus. On Kamigawa, that was "Shinto gone wrong"'. Beyond that, the parallels to Japanese culture were prevalent, but mostly aesthetic. I expect here they'll focus on the "Bolas is Amun-Ra, king of the gods" element, and once again leave most of the rest to aesthetics.
Other parallels might include a single, all-important river that life is based around, and maybe even some parallel to the Pharaoh system with some sort of human(oid) avatar of Bolas. We know from revealed art that mummies will be around, but they are shown as typical undead, which I find disappointing, as I would see mummification as a much more ritualistic Inheritance type effect, which could have been sculpted into a mechanic.

And the Temur were supposed to be pretty Mongolian too. "Temür" is literally Mongolian for "iron", to represent their iron will.

Mardu as Mongolia,Jeskai as Yuan China, Temur as the Russian golden horde, Abzan as the Ikhanate.
1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
Sultai were also influenced by Southeast Asia.
