My guess is that the planeswalker decks will be Nissa and Saheeli in Kaladesh and Chandra and Baan in Aether Revolt. I would be somewhat surprised if we continue to see planeswalker duel decks after the Nissa vs Ob one, since it seems the planeswalker decks would fill that space fairly well, but I guess we'll have a better idea tomorrow.
In the story article Dovin seems too UW to be anything else. However the Serlock inside me just insists that he is in fact UB, and all this is all an act from his part to manipulate things in his favor.
I know that Black is not neccessary evil, but if you consider it a bit, we had never had this kind of villain. The sneaky bastard. A role best fit for B. Most likely i will be proven wrong, but hell something really tickles me he is in fact a double agent or something!

I'm sorry, I'm quoting so many people I've lost track of all the names and links. Been doing this in a text editor because this site's 'multiquote' feature is garbage.
Nobody you quoted was talking about the new Vedalken Dovin Baan. Also Simic Vedalken's had four arms, Vigean Graftmage. This is the first I noticed the ear thing, interesting.
I think he was referring to my OTHER post and quoted the wrong one.
With the current set up Jace has no reason to show up in either block and at least one reason to not show up, him being 'needed' on Ravnica. Gideon also has no reason to be there, while Nissa, Chandra and Liliana are all heading there already.
They have no reason to be there currently. I don't expect Jace or Gideon to be there in the first set. Dovin said something about one of the inventors at the fair having an entry that was a "new order of artifice" made my theorycrafting instincts perk up. Someone as precise as Baan doesn't say something like that offhandedly. I expect that "new order of artifice" will be the central focus of the second set, and the full gatewatch will need to be called in - including Jace and Gideon. Just like the Gatewatch were called into Innistrad as soon as Jace realised Emrakul was there.
This is why I think Gideon will be getting the Gatewatch slot in Zendikar, not Nissa. It has to be one or the other, but Nissa is there for the first set and Gideon will be called in for the second set, so it will be Gideon that gets it.
There are only 3 planeswalkers in the first set, so the next new planeswalker would be in the 2nd set. Waaay to early for them to even mention it.
I 100% disagree that we will see Liliana. We literally JUST got a new Liliana. 100% not happening.
First Set: UR: Saheeli Rai UW: Dovin Baan R: Chandra
Second Set: W: Gideon (Or possibly G: Nissa - but I strongly doubt that)
?B: Any except Liliana. If it wasn't for the fact we already have 2 Blue 'walkers I'd say UB Tezzeret. If we get Gideon then we need a green, and it'll be GB (Which I've been speculating for awhile), but if we get Nissa then it'll probably be either pure black or WB. Given that we alrady have Sorin recently that further leads me to suspect Gideon + GB. (Which I've been saying all along)
I peg Liliana and Nissa in the next block - not sure about the order yet. If we get Gideon here we get Nissa next, if we get Nissa here we get Gideon next. Then we also get either Jace or Liliana next block. It has to do with rotations and timing and it's all pretty logical (I posted all this in the planeswalker thread)
Also, note that Dovin is a carefully calculating person. It seems extremely suspicious to me that he made the "mistake" of misunderstanding the Gatewatch's mission and approached them with a mundane event policing request and then learned that "coincidentally" a member of the GW was a wanted person from his plane. He may had been targeting Chandra from the get go.
Doubtful. His reaction when he found out Chandra's last name seemed clear that he had no idea up until that point. Remember - this 'network' of passing on information is completely informal and has only been going on for a short while, so it seems reasonable that he was given the wrong information. Have you never played a game of telephone?
Literally no one knew she was from Kaladesh except maybe the monks she trained with. She didn't even tell her friends. I find it hard to believe that this guy who spends all his time with artifacts and as near as we can tell has never left Kaladesh as he's too involved in its security would find out. Also she was reported dead - even though no one found the body (Given that NO ONE would have had any idea she was a planeswalker they wouldn't have had any idea that she walked)
Of course this is all just my interpretation of his character. Who knows, maybe he is Blue black aligned? The feeling that he has an ulterior motive could be a hint that he is selfish at the expense of others.
In the Kaladesh Planeswalker thread I've long speculated we'll get a UB walker and a GB walker along with Chandra, Gideon and Saheeli (whatever colours Saheeli is I was still sure we'd see a UB and GB walker)
Baan *seems* to throw a cog in the works - but if he is indeed UB then it lines up perfectly with my theory. Also it would be kind of perfect to have a RW Chandra deck and a UB Dovin deck as the two planeswalker decks (which are dual-coloured even if the planeswalker is mono-coloured.)

Dovin is definitely U and maybe UW. Possibly full on Esper if him manipulating things is actually what's going on (though I sincerely doubt that to be the case). Aside from his persona, the odds of them making another UB artifact focused planeswalker when Tezzeret is still (presumably) alive are basically 0.
Sorry I know double-posting is bad form but after making that other post a completely separate thought hit me. Jace and Gideon are looking into Vraska attacking Azorius! The next set will deal with chasing down Vraska (or maybe Vraska comes to Kaladesh)
I've been speculating a BG planeswalker in Kaladesh so either it will be Vraska or it will be a different colour and we'll get Vraska next block. There's no way they'd hint Vraska in this story and not do something. It's definitely a 'lead'.

I am aware that new evidence can change who lines up where, but as I was talking about color parity in the block, which is a thing that they do in every block when it comes to planeswalkers. But based on what we have, this is how things line up.
I 100% disagree that we will see Liliana. We literally JUST got a new Liliana. 100% not happening.
Given you're about to list a planeswalker who specifically said he wasn't going to Kaladesh, Lili's chances are better than Gideon. Note that I put Liliana at the lowest odds of the collected options, as there are two in-black walkers that care about artifacts. But your own logic is flawed which I'll get into.
First Set: UR: Saheeli Rai UW: Dovin Baan R: Chandra

Why would Gideon, who is not going to Kaladesh, get a card before Nissa, who is going to Kaladesh. There have also been two blocks with three walkers of the same color in a set without breaking color parity (Innistrad 1 had 3 Black walkers, Theros had 3 Green walkers). Tezzeret and Daretti, both multicolor walkers in black, care about artifacts and can fill the black spot that, yes, Liliana probably isn't getting as a card. Meanwhile Nissa, who needs to stay in standard, gets the Green spot.
Leaving Gideon to headline the first set of the next block, keeping all five Gatewatch in Standard.
I peg Liliana and Nissa in the next block - not sure about the order yet. If we get Gideon here we get Nissa next, if we get Nissa here we get Gideon next. Given what Jace and Gideon were talking about, Gideon headlining next block going after Vraska (wherever she is attacking from, either Ravnica 3 or on a separate plane where Vraska happens to be hiding out) would make more sense than shoehorning Gideon into a plane he, as of this post, is not going to.
Gideon: Dealing with Ravnica business, specifically if Vraska is doing bad things.
Jace: Dealing with Guildpack paperwork until the next Ice Age set.
Liliana: Went to Kaladesh but doesn't seem to have a specific personal plot going on.
Chandra: Went to Kaladesh and most definitely seems to have a plot going on.
Nissa: Went. To. Kaladesh. and may or may not having sapphic desires about Chandra, but she is definitely going there to get into her own trouble looking for Chandra.
Why, when trying to determine the color parity of the block, do you specifically include someone not going just to hit a walker type that they could easily do next block? They specifically bring up Vraska, which gets you a returning BlackGreen walker, but she's set-up as a future (or rather concurrent elsewhere) plot to what's going on here.
If he's full esper then we'll get 6 planeswalkers in this block (like Tamiyo). They prefer not to make planeswalkers that niche.
I very much doubt the six walkers had to do with Tamiyo being three color. More likely, it was because Arlinn was a transforming DFC card.
Actually, it is the *exact* reason why Tamiyo ended up three color. They knew people would get angry if they didn't give her a card, but at the same time they knew that if they didn't give us a DFC planeswalker, we would get annoyed as well. Thus, Arlinn the Werewolf came to be, and Tamiyo ended up three color. And people still got annoyed, because (insert any of the following: No Garruk, Arlinn had no impact on the story, Tamiyo was three colors, no reprint of Liliana of the Veil, ect, ect, ect, ect, ect, ect. ).

Well, seeing as how Vraska was mentioned in the story, and that she specifically targeted the UW Azorious guild, I don't think it is a stretch for her to also target the UW aligned counsel. I think Aether Revolt seems to be a perfect place to have her appear as the main villain rabble rousing the gremlins. The story also specifically mentioned that the Gatewatch was formed to deal will rogue planeswalkers, which is odd, seeing as how it was actually formed to defeat the eldrazi. I don't think it was a mistake that they put this information in there though. It sounds more like foreshadowing, and given the recent story telling WotC has done, their foreshadowing is beyond obvious. They mention Vraska, but specifically not by name, which is baiting the reader into looking into it to see who Jace was talking about. That being said, I see the breakdown being:
Chandra=R
Saheeli=UR (in the Blue spot)
Dovin= WU (in the White spot)
Vraska= GB (in the black spot)
Nissa= G
and a possible surprise 6th walker of unknown color
since Nissa went to find Chandra, I suspect that will be part of the story arc, and will leave Chandra for Aether Revolt and we get Nissa in Kaladesh, along with Dovin Baan and Saheeli, then in Aether revolt they spoil the villain Vraska and we find out where on Kaladesh Chandra and Liliana went= wherever the revolters are.
I feel like what we're getting this year is two concurrent stories, not two consecutive stories. And that the Vraska foreshadow is for what Gideon and Jace get up to next spring (or just Gideon, which is also a possible choice).
The Girls: Go to Kaladesh to do Kaladesh stuff.
The Boys (or just Gids): Figure out where Vraska is attacking from, go to investigate that on a new plane (or an old plane).
Vraska is definitely on the horizon, but she isn't a good antagonist for R/G pair of walkers. Not as good as if she's up against Jace or Gideon. The primary advantage is that Jace and Gideon being busy means they can drop hints for the Spring Set when Lili, Chandra, or Nis go looking for aid. And Lavinia says "Sorry, the boys went out and didn't tell me where they were going." It also means we don't have to put as much art of the Gatewatch into Kaladesh (as it would only be the girls, not all five of them).
We got foreshadow for Kaladesh back in BFZ with the Chandra centered story, and her issues with her dead parents. That's what this foreshadow felt like.
Considering his short biography we can assume him to be a artifact-centered UR walker, assuming Chandra present and mono R we can confirm Saheeli as UW with the 2 last spot for a G and a B PW (or any comination with that colors)
He definitely has no Red in him, despite being Artifact-centric. I'm fairly sure he'll be mono-Blue, taking the place of Jace, with the possibility that he's Ub.

I really don't see how anyone thinks he's red. He's cool and controlled, completely lacking in any emotional or chaotic elements that red is known for, and is an agent of a tightly controlled, ordered social and governmental system.
I also don't see him being black, from what we know about him. He doesn't seem particularly ambitious. More like he wants to fulfill his duties as efficiently and effectively as possible. It may turn out in future stories that he mas other motives/agendas/plans in play, but from what we know now, I just can't even begin to see B.
I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.
OK, I hope there's a thread in the story subforum to address this, because.... what? Dovin Baan 'hires' the Gatewatch??
Technically he requests their assistance but they reject because he doesn't know if there's a planeswalker involved in the rebel movement. Chandra and Lili are going because **** the consulate and Nissa is going to be den mom.
I stand corrected about Dovin lack of R, I originally made my post after reading his short bio but without having read the Homesick story, in which he acts in a very UW way.
If we consider valid the PuzzleQuest spoiler of UR Saheeli, my bet is something like this
Kaladesh: R Chandra UR Saheeli UW Dovin
Aether Revolt G Nissa Bx? Here lies the mistery: B Liliana? BG Vraska? BW new character?
I think that this time the Gatewatch presence will be limited to personal member motives instead of group-saves-the-day story so the main character will be Chandra and Nissa will be there to help/saveher. We can stretch this up to Liliana with her and Nissa working as the "cartoonish" angel/devil on Chandra's shoulders advising her.
"The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again"

No, the Chandra planeswalker deck is for Kaladesh, not Aether Revolt. They even showed us the packaging for the deck back in May. (http://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/making-magic/ramp-approval-2016-05-16)

That is by no means a given. It could have been a mock-up using a known walker for illustrative purposes. We will know soon enough anyways.

Modern - UB Mill (casual)

and a possible surprise 6th walker of unknown color
since Nissa went to find Chandra, I suspect that will be part of the story arc, and will leave Chandra for Aether Revolt and we get Nissa in Kaladesh, along with Dovin Baan and Saheeli, then in Aether revolt they spoil the villain Vraska and we find out where on Kaladesh Chandra and Liliana went= wherever the revolters are.
He definitely has no Red in him, despite being Artifact-centric. I'm fairly sure he'll be mono-Blue, taking the place of Jace, with the possibility that he's Ub.
I misunderstood what you wrote, I apologize.

He's U definitely, and UW possibly(probably).
EDH:
Maelstrom Wanderer
Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind
Technically he requests their assistance but they reject because he doesn't know if there's a planeswalker involved in the rebel movement. Chandra and Lili are going because **** the consulate and Nissa is going to be den mom.
If we consider valid the PuzzleQuest spoiler of UR Saheeli, my bet is something like this
Kaladesh:
R Chandra
UR Saheeli
UW Dovin
Aether Revolt
G Nissa
Bx? Here lies the mistery: B Liliana? BG Vraska? BW new character?
I think that this time the Gatewatch presence will be limited to personal member motives instead of group-saves-the-day story so the main character will be Chandra and Nissa will be there to help/saveher. We can stretch this up to Liliana with her and Nissa working as the "cartoonish" angel/devil on Chandra's shoulders advising her.
