so the chances of Saheeli being at least part blue are quite high.
I thought she was already confirmed to be UR, or is this person not the new Planeswalker?
Never been confirmed. Just highly speculated (because of all the UR stuff in Origins) I strongly suspect she WON'T be red, because that means both of the first two planeswalker decks will be red (Chandra and Saheeli)
I believe you can choose the effects in any order. However, as they are part of the same spell, the tokens will not be created until the spell resolves so you can't target a token also being created with the same copy of Saheeli's Artistry because it does not yet exist.
That being said, I'm not a judge, so if I am wrong I stand to be corrected.
You can technically choose them in any order - but they resolve in the order on the card. Same with Escalate and Commands.
It's worth noting that you have to choose the targets when you cast the spell, so you can't copy the new artifact creature with the same spell. Also the token effectively come into play 'at the same time' for purposes of triggers - so the order is largely moot in this case.

The consul controls the foundry - but all the artificers we know in the story are rebels. Also, the consul's fear magic because it means that their control over the population that is dependant on them for artifacts could be supplanted if magic takes root in the plane.

Alongside that rule, all targets for a spell must be chosen at the time of casting. If you don't control any artifacts as you cast Saheeli's Artistry, you can't choose the first mode.
not as relevant as the card can copy opponent's creatures/artifacts as it does not specifically specify you control.
Allow me to rephrase: If there are no artifacts on the battlefield when you cast Saheeli's Artistry, you cannot choose the first mode.
The consul controls the foundry - but all the artificers we know in the story are rebels. Also, the consul's fear magic because it means that their control over the population that is dependant on them for artifacts could be supplanted if magic takes root in the plane.
While it's perfectly possible that the main body of the Consuls is made of up Soldiers and Advisors, someone is designing and making all those artifacts they use, so clearly they have Artificers under their employ.
I don't know how many times I need to reiterate this, but Origins' Kaladesh cards were just a sneak peek. It is not going to be focused on enemy pairs because the artifacts are quite clearly the focus, UR is going to be one of ten color pairs in the block like usual, Artificers will be seen in more than UR, and some of those Artificers will be aligned with the Consul, others against.
Origins' Artificers were just a small portion of what Kaladesh has to offer, and not all the flavor text suggests that they are in fact rebelling. Ghirapur Gearcrafter's flavor just focuses on perfection and Ghirapur Aether Grid mentions the city's defenses. Whirler Rogue and Pia and Kiran Nalaar are the only artifact-related cards that can easily be interpreted as anti-Consul.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
I'd like to add we have only 3 source of world building for Kaladesh so far, Chandras origin story which was more forced on Chanadra, the few sentences we got from the worlds of magic origins and the 1/10th of the cards in Origins. So we don't know the fully how Kaladesh is ran. Add in the fact several years have passed since Chandra spark ignited so the politics of the world might have also shift somewhat.

Allow me to rephrase: If there are no artifacts on the battlefield when you cast Saheeli's Artistry, you cannot choose the first mode.
Which, I would like to add, is why this is a 'modal' spell with 'choose one or more'. If it just had both lines of text without a choice you wouldn't be able to cast it unless both an artifact and a creature were in play.
We also have the manager at the foundry who gives Chandra the key to the Foundry so she can escape. She makes a gesture (that I interpret to be like a rebel signal) and says "The Nalaars and I go way back." Since she is the head of the foundry I expect those she manages share her views.
As someone else pointed out, there are 3 sources of information we have on the world - not just the cards.

But then it's not what the metal wants be anymore, but what you want the metal to be ;). Besides, I don't think flavor should be determined by one specific type of deck build, which exploits a loophole.
I think you might be missing the point here on a technicality. It would be impossible to know "what the metal wants to be" unless a being was able to communicate with it. This is saying that saheeli can. The fact that "you" as the player chooses has no actual bearing, because we as beings who cannot communicate with metal, are forced to take saheeli's word for it that this shape we chose is also the shape the metal wanted. You see, this can't possibly be a flavor fail, as it can't be proven or even argued that the metal doesn't get to choose because we do, because the only character who would know either way is saheeli, and she is the one saying the quote. It does however, definitely tell us that she can communicate with the metal, which is a flavor home run
That's what I was saying. I was arguing that the flavor text implies for Saheeli somehow having the ability to communicate with metal. Sphynx, the one I was replying to, said that the flavor on the card was nonsensical, which I diagreed with.
I am excited to go to a new plane here, but I think the timing on an artifact plan is terrible. We just had 2 full blocks of 'colorless matters'. Like I have said in the past, I'm pining for the days of theros. it wasn't a strong block per say, but the focus was on the actual colors of magic. That and we didn't have spells attached to creatures in such high numbers so you actually had to build a deck, and not just jam in ETB heavy aggressively costed creatures. Since we have another colorless matters plane on the horizon, I'm really hoping we get some powerful non-creature cards. I would be happy with the entire block not having a single creature with a cast trigger, or ETB trigger. Frankly I hate those cards; they are cheap designs to allow uncreative players to compete without having to think. lets have some artifacts that effect the board state in a non creature way, like say Armageddon clock, where players have to really think about whether or not to take the damage, or cast their siege rhino type card.
It's cards like this that make me wish there was an artifact centered UR commander.
Yeah me too, hopefully we'll get one in either kaladesh or in aether revolt. And I also hope it's not the type like ulrich of the krallenhorde was, where a ton of players wanted a red green werewolf legend for commander and well... he turned out rather unexciting for said format. Something that draws cards, creates thopters or tutors up artifacts by sacrificing other artifacts would be right in my ballpark. Bonus points if it's a sphinx or a cute artificer-girl.
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
Kaladesh
Release: September 30th, 2016
Mothership Spoilers Start: September 5th (2 weeks of articles) Note: they will premiere Kaladesh September 2nd at PAX West so we'll definitely get spoilers then and possibly more over the weekend)
Full Spoiler Released: September 16th
Cool so not much longer
Looking forward to seeing some artifacts(creatures) in this set.
Probably will make a artifact deck in standard for this set. Maybe we will get colorless commander that's not a eldrazi nor Karn.
So it's a Sculpting Steel + Phyrexian Metamorph, for essentially the same price, but on only one card. Considering those were both competitively playable cards, this seems fairly impressive. More expensive, but not prohibitively so, and also card advantage with two inherently powerful effects. Hard to imagine there not being a deck that can take big advantage of this.
It already has plenty of room to work in EDH, and mono-blue Tron could actually make a bit of a comeback in Modern. Far as Standard goes, the question isn't whether this will see play, but what the deck will look like, since there are a lot of ways it could go. Card is crazy good.
I actually had a look at this person's posting history. I haven't found a single positive comment. The empirical conclusion is that they are really feeling this way.

Or maybe you Wizards apologists should stop making excuses for them when they print complete garbage chaff like this and we could bring Magic back to what it once was, a skill testing great game. I alone can fix it. I want to make Magic Great Again. I'm tired of the last 8 years of creature this and unplayable spells. Our game can't afford it anymore. We don't win anymore. We just keep losing. I'm tired of the establishment at Wizards. Hopefully the rest of the blue cards will be just great. And hopefully the set will be HUGE. But this card is simply garbage.

Er, right...
I'm a Wizards apologist, this card is 'complete garbage chaff', you're the only one who can save Magic and you're totally not crazy.
Yebisu: I don't think it's really meant for Standard/Modern. Looks more like a Casual/Commander (note: two different formats there) card. And possibly a blowout in Limited.
I think it's a pretty big call to make considering we haven't seen what artifacts are in Kaladesh block. For all we know there's some kind of indestructible behemoth waiting to make this card an utter terror. Mana rocks will likely show up as well.
