Seems very good in draft, being able to use any off colour bomb you pick up in the draft. Or just repeated uses of a strong ETB ability. And depending on the removal in the set, might not die to easily.
Seems fun with any of the "ETB: you become the monarch" creatures - no, I'm the monarch, now give me back that damn crown, etc. Even if it's just a Crown-Hunter Hireling that you're repeatedly cloning, that's a lot of value.

"The true measure of all heroes is not what they achieve, but who they inspire." —Triumph of Gerrard
good card, I will would have to say the art is meh.
hmm could someone make a meme with the "I am the Monarch now" deal from Captain Philips, because with a monarch gaining creature on here, thats pretty much what it is.
For all my grumpyness caused by this set (why is Leovold not a cool named female fan service elf???) if have to defend this card as having sliiight out-of-draft applications e.g. with Kumano's Blessing.
Sorry, that's not how linked abilities work, unfortunately.

It's not a linked ability, dear. Reread the card. If it was linked it would do nothing since it goes into a hidden zone between exiling and using the ability.
Graaah, I feared it wouldn't work...
Thanks for clarifying, kind Bard.
; )
You're in luck; it actually works exactly that way. It's not a linked ability. In fact, if you have multiple they can all access any cards any other has exiled.
This and all of the other cards that are similar have been confirmed to be link abilities by Matt Tabak, the at the time rules manager. There will be no shenanigans with these cards outside of draft.

Right, well that means a bit of a rules change. And one that makes literally no sense. (With the whole going between zones and working on multiple cards of the same name)
I feel like Tabak messed up by letting these exist or making that rules change.

Check out the thread for my cube if you have the time, and tell me how terrible it is.
Generals meant to be drafted first in a single pack of 6 cards.
And here is the actual cube, meant to be drafted in 4 regular sized packs. (60 card decks)
Gorgeous art, though I'm a little disappointed it isn't from Kaladesh. I'm still very much looking forward to seeing more of that setting but I would have loved this to be a glimpse of Kaladeshi elven design.

in the rulings forum on arcane savant i've linked a series of his quotes where he tells us that they are linked abilities and new rules will come out as they often do with new sets.

Sorry, wasn't doubting you. I'm just miffed at the super unnecessary rules change that doesn't actually make sense. (How on earth does having it be linked make sense; they're not even the same game object.)

They seem to be going for lots of exotic animals brought to Paliano for the amusement of the rich elite, for display in zoos and such. So there are places beyond the borders of Paliano and Trest that have tigers, elephants, hydras, giant lizards, and these other exotic fauna.
All of these draft exile effects have been confirmed linked abilities so there is no shenanigans to be had. Yes, this is disappointing, but it is stop the universe from imploding so it seems like a good idea even if the theoretical rules for it sound weird right now.

Great card btw. Every turn is a monarch turn right now.

Yeah this art is not good. In fact it is pretty terrible.

You're right, my bad. I was mostly just responding to the linked abilities thing, but I guess I'm wrong there because Tabak had an anuerysm?

As it is, this card is just Soul Foundry with the imprinted card locked in.
Of course, that's pretty good, so I guess that's okay.
