Imperial Recruiter isn't US$250,00 because it's crazy good.... it's 250 because of the EXTREMELY low availability.
the card per se isn't that powerful, if it was reprinted in a standard legal set, it wouldn't even get close to US$10,00.
a card like this REALLY needs a lot of good "toolbox" options in it's deck.
without those, it's pretty meh.
Honestly, if you don't have an incredibly powerful toolbox, it's probably better just to draw almost any other 3 drop than this dude.

You don't think they would shift recruiter's rarity to mythic? I think they would.

"The essence of every world, every spell and every thought is power. Nothing else matters, because nothing else exists."
What, no one's going to complain this should be an uncommon, just like Imperial Recruiter?
Nice hyperbole
Diferent situations compared to Inquisition
So a rarity upshift on a reprint is not ok, but a rarity upshift on an (almost) functional reprint is OK?
Talking about selective criteria....
The only difference is: case 1 affect you, case 2 don't.
People are just thinking that everything should resolve around their small world...
Imperial Recruiter is an old card and would be rare these days because the card is strong tough i don't know how it efefcts Limtied. The rarity shift from Inquisition is totally diferent.
Personally i would like if the card was uncomon but the rarity shift here is more reasonable then in Inquisition wich is stupid when concerning the format its been pritned on.

If they do, we riot.
mainly because, outside of financial values (which would remain quite inflated for some time after release) it would be mainly just a weak mythic.
In a vacuum, this card (and Imperial Recruiter for that matter) is arguably worse (colored mana costs aside) than Fierce Empath, because being able to fetch the sole bomby dude in your deck is far more useful than searching for another generic small dude.
this card will not live up to the hype....
people are looking at it and seeing Imperial Recruiter, then, they look at Imperial Recruiter and see a US$200,00 bill....
This value is not sustainable by any means if Imperial Recruiter is printed in a decent quantity, and it's sheer power and complexity was already printed at common.
I'd be a pretty sad person if I saw Imperial Recruiter as a mythic any time in my life, unless for some miracle it remains at $200+... if so, I'll sell any I get ASAP.
Love, love, love that they are somehwat pushing the Reserved List envelope through colorshifting and rules tweaking. What a fine card. Bunch of us want them for Commander and Legacy already. Can't wait to get Thalia with her!

The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.
Simply amazing. A color shifted inversion of Imperial Recruiter, with two relevant creature types. It will be a format staple in legacy and commander, also whatever other formats its legal in. I'm surprised its not a mythic, but it isn't, which is incredible. I'm happy I saved up a little bit of money by missing out on eternal masters drafts, because this card could headline an eternal set all by itself.

Cool how one sarcastic remark can cause this much discussion. OFC this should be rare.
It also tutors for a lot of Clones, meaning you can quickly fill the board with Phyrexian Metamorph and Phantasmal Image.
Which you then blink and turn into mayhem.
Ok, I was feeling pretty unimpressed with all of the draft matters and monarch cards they were spoiling up front, but now they're getting to the good stuff!
If you run four of each recruiter then any recruiter plus Food Chain casts two Hornet Queens. You can also use the four red Recuiters to generate mana then use the four white Recuiters to loop Sawtooth Loons until you find Emrakul. I doubt it's good enough for Legacy but it might be worth looking at.
this will be finding a home in every single white/x edh deck i have probably. maybe. most likely. i like tutors, i like tutors that find me my utility creatures even more.
here's some of the commonly played things i can use it to find: wood elves, eternal witness, acidic slime, solemn simulacrum, sakura tribe elder, whitemane lion, serra ascendant, mother of runes, reclamation sage. i could do this all day. this card is awesome.
In what universe? If you build a deck like that, and ever draw that hand, I will personally come to wherever you live, perform complicated acts of awestruck ********, then disembowel myself to escape the world that allowed something like this to occur and validate you.
Do you guys tink this is the chase card of the set or is there something even bigger comming up? I am not familiar with Conspiracy 1 so I actually don´t know the chase card(s) from that set and their value.
Chase card from CON1 was Dack Fayden ($50 for a while). Exploration and Council's Judgement were just behind it.

You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
