Recruiter of the Guard2W Creature - Human Soldier (R)
When Recruiter of the Guard enters the battlefield, you may search your library for a creature card with toughness 2 or less, reveal it, put it into your hand, then shuffle your library. Before a cause can have supporters, it has to have a voice.
1/1
This card fits into aluren legacy, though it would press the deck to be 5 colors. That said it is basically 4 functional extra copies of imperial recruiter. I can see this being a thing, I definitely can.

And here is a color shifted Imperial Recruiter. This is going to be $30+
I guess that depends on print run. Honestly, Imperial Recruiter doesn't see that much competitive Legacy play. It wouldn't be so expensive were it reprinted at rare in, say, Khans of Tarkir. It'd probably $2-3 then. CN2 will be comparatively scarce, but I don't know if it'll be scare enough to command a $30+ price tag.
(I want one for my Asmira EDH deck and would rather not pay $30+ for it. We'll see.)
a twist on Imperial Recruiter, I wont be surprised is this sees competitive play its basically a fetch a snapcaster or other similar creatures (modern would beg for it, but they can't have it).

Difference is that white is played a bit more in Legacy than red, has better cards to search for, and things like that. Plus we have Commander uses and that always helps/hurts, depending on how you see it, prices for a card. I mean it won't be $30 initially, although I wouldn't be surprised if SCG tries to get away with $30 at first. After this set stops being printed this is probably going to hit that price rather quickly

No card from the first Conspiracy set is anywhere close to $30+, though Dack Fayden (a mythic) achieved that briefly before the reprint.
Does Legacy Death and Taxes want this? It's only a 1/1 body, which sure ain't great.
I think its more a case of Imperial Recruiter in the current environment deserves to be rare as it is a very powerful tutor. But Inquisition of Kozilek does not, its a very strong discard spell but that is all it is. Not to mention IoK is pretty bad in multiplayer formats anyway.
I think this card could be a 2 of maybe in death and taxes to tutor pretty much anything you want. I wish I could play it in the modern version.
What, no one's going to complain this should be an uncommon, just like Imperial Recruiter?
Nice hyperbole
Diferent situations compared to Inquisition
So a rarity upshift on a reprint is not ok, but a rarity upshift on an (almost) functional reprint is OK?
Talking about selective criteria....
The only difference is: case 1 affect you, case 2 don't.

Now you're just being reductive and antagonistic.
Red doesn't have many ways to tutor in comparison to other colors, an ability like imperial recruiters nowadays would amount to rare especially in red. Discard is everywhere in black, it's kind of blacks thing. And we've had white cards just like this in the past, Ranger of Eos comes to mind and hes a rare. Tutor effects are powerful, and WotC tries to keep them sparse. Discard is everywhere and it should be displayed across all rarities.
Card seems really nice in D&T and will be an important budget replacement for Recruiter in Aluren. Interestingly, it can grab True-Name Nemesis and Thalia, Heretic Cathar.
These days, some wizards are finding they have a little too much deck left at the end of their $$$.

Actually this one checks for toughness rather than power, so no technical Imperial Recruiter.
Looks like a great card nonetheless, even though it doesn't get Painter's Servant.
Yeah, it's not just a colorshifted Imperial Recruiter. It's both worse and better. Getting Flickerwisp could be handy.

Apparently, the hilt of Brago's sword became a symbol of the Guard (Republic) faction, as the counterpart of Marchesa and her black rose emblem.
Let this great clan rest in peace (2001-2011)
