Sovereign's Realm may not be as good as it first appears. You get insane mana consistency, but you are forced to play with nearly your entire draft pool. Plus, there is the real danger that your draft pool does not even have 40 cards (very possible if you draft too many conspiracies or cards that remove cards from the draft) and you can't even legally play Sovereign's Realm.
It sounds insane when it works, though.
But don't forget, each card you don't need is a land.
I expected Marchesa to be changing out a color for White but I expected it to be Red not Blue.
Also Sovreigns Realm is the absolute definition of pack one pick one. Pull that and you can happilly go five color good stuff. Grab seven or eight basics for your sideboard and go ham.
IIRC in limited your sideboard automatically includes an arbitrarily large number of basic lands. Which makes me wonder how this card interacts with Fastbond (relevant in cube). Can I exile a card from my hand and then just play 15 basics from outside the game? If I have Courser of Kruphix as well, is this the first combo that can create an arbitrarily large number of nontoken permanents? And, of course, with some sort of reshuffle effect, is this the most elaborate way to win with Battle of Wits in a limited format?

Give this man a cookie!
If you are right, and it seems that you are, I will not rest until I actually manage to pull this off. Though that would require putting Battle of Wits in my cube and I don't think my playgroup would approve. Unless I add wishes, we agree on being able to wish for anything from one's collection and I manage to draft Golden Wish...

standard: BUG The Baron (it doesn't work, but I try anyway)
With sovereign's realm, does it automatically put itself in the command zone if you draft it? Is it mandatory? Worldknit is optional, so its worst case scenario is just a dead pick. Can sovereign's realm actually screw someone over if they don't want it?

.
All conspiracies are optional, you choose what to put in the deck before the game starts (even it starts in the command zone). If you dont think it will work in the deck you can take it out. Deck Building process is separate from drafting.
I like the return of monstrosities. I didn't expect that. I also didn't expect Mardu Marchesa (hehe... MaMa). She seems to be a nice utility commander in these colors, something they didn't have yet.
I hope this is her card's new forum name from now on. I want to build a MaMa EDH deck now. I can't wait to summon MaMa...
Illusion of Choice is amusing. Perfect timing Wizards #2016. Anyway, I like the new Marchesa. Great art and effect is fun, although I'm unsure about how I'd play those colors. I'm too attached to Blue. Capital Punishment ooo risky art and scary effect. Pretty cool in general.
Marchesa is insane once you grasp how the Monarch token works. So you play her and are GUARANTEED to draw a card at your end step. Then, for every turn she sticks around, you get to either draw another card, or kill an opponent's creature if they take monarch and then block the deathtouch token.
The issue I have with Marchesa is that in a 4-player EDH game, she quickly makes the game Archenemy against you. That card advantage is gonna make people go at you until you're not the monarch or dead.

"I hope to have such a death... lying in triumph atop the broken bodies of those who slew me..."
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
Monarch is a sweet mechanic, does anyone know how the monarch token will be distributed ?
Can you explain monarch
Certain cards designate you as the monarch. Other cards can take that ability away, giving it to someone else. If you're the monarch, you get an emblem with "At the beginning of your end step, draw a card. Whenever a creature deals combat damage to you, its controller becomes the monarch". So, it's card advantage, but also makes you the target. There also appears to be cards that grant abilities when you're NOT the monarch.
Let's say we play a Legacy game, somebody play the new Marchesa.
Is this player becoming the Monarch or is the Monarch mechanic exclusive to Conspiracy drafts ?
That player would become the Monarch. The rule will be written such that it applies in any format where those cards are legal.
Agh why did they keep the Mardu color ordering in her casting cost
I think it fits her. She's fundamentally red. Blue/white are the means she used in each role (subterfuge/law) and black represents the way she uses those means.
I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.
I actually find her quite interesting and elegant. Grabs you the monarch, and whenever you aren't gives you a tool to get it back in time to draw off it in the form of a token no one wants to block.

Check out the thread for my cube if you have the time, and tell me how terrible it is.
Generals meant to be drafted first in a single pack of 6 cards.
And here is the actual cube, meant to be drafted in 4 regular sized packs. (60 card decks)
Queen Marchesa finally gives me a Mardu commander I actually want to build. As long as she sticks, the incremental advantage you accrue is nuts. Seems ideal for tokens, stax, or some hybrid of the two. Also, the potential for Dr. Mrs. The Monarch alters cannot be underestimated.
Jeering Homunculus already makes the whole set a success in my book. Head canon: Mklthd has a Brooklyn accent. "Hey, I'm walkin' here!"
Capital Punishment is nuts with Mazirek. One person besides yourself picking death makes it one-sided Barter in Blood, plus discards equal to whoever didn't pick death. Basically, in a four player game, you cast this, you should almost always win.
Creative does a fantastic job with these sets. Stuff like Domesticated Hydra really makes Fiora feel alive.

And the name is a nice wordplay -- normally, capital punishment is execution... but you can also use it as taxes, to literally punish their capital.
