Noteworthy thing I noticed is Grand Prix Vegas comprises of 3 Grand Prix's over 4 days, with the order being legacy, then standard, then modern. June 15-16 is legacy, 16-17 is standard, 17-18 is modern. Hosted by channel fireball. Another thing is there are no European legacy grand prix's for whatever reason. There is also team modern and more team limited events in the schedule.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
kinda disappointed that GP Montreal is in May instead of July, I've been really enjoying going to Montreal in July for my birthday month. Guess Toronto is okay but not the same
Just pro tours. If they axed it from the GP circuit, it would mean the format was going the way of extended. You can be sure there'd be some outrage over no modern GPs.

Last time they posted this thing they left out the locations of those, "other big events" I missed the last time Legacy will be played in my city.
I am not going to the Meadowlands for Magic. Nor am I travelling to Pittsburgh. I should have gone to AC in 2015, but only being two months or so back into the game, I definitely wasn't ready for it. So no big events for me until 2018. woo.

Wanted -Zombie Foils and older expensive Zombie stuff. High Priority- Beta Z Master/ Int. Collector's Edition.
While I'm happy that the format of the two British GP's are modern and limited, I'm a bit bummed that the first one isn't until August, an earlier one like GP Manchester this year would have been good.
The only one stopping a GP being held in NC is Wizards and the GP organizers.
How do the cities/organizers choose where to host these events? Is it based on attendance, a rotating schedule?
I'd like to know too. I was excited that one was in Vancouver because I can get there relatively easy and a friend lives there (I'm in Alberta) but... it's Modern and I prefer Standard. I would even have considered going for Limited.

Rose tint my world, keep me safe from my trouble and pain.
How does Louisville get two GPs, separated by only 4 months? (Sep 2016/ Jan 2017)
California, which has had two GPs a year since I can remember, now only has one. To make matters worse, it's in San Jose, which has the worst venue of any GP I've ever attended (12-13 GPs).
I'd love for Wizards to come back to Sacramento, but that's wishful thinking.
Between Wizards and Starcity, the Westcoast has really been hamstrung.
Just got to say, you've definitely earned distinction as an MTGS hero

Because he's the hero MTGS deserves, and the one it needs right now. So we'll global him. Because he can take it. Because he's not just our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. An expired rascal.

It's not just Legacy. People in Japan just love their constructed formats. I'm pretty sure thorough feedback was given, and LGS in Japan probably weighed in more opinions that are relevant to their pockets. It's not really hard to figure out.
In any case, this case is not just isolated in Japan and Europe. It's really hard to justify more Legacy events. A format that is restricted by powerful cards, which are in low supply, has low potential for future interest and growth in the community.

No matter how much people are dying to call Legacy dead, the attendance numbers and price stability of staples tells an entirely different story.
They don't want us playing Legacy because it sells less boosters of ***** sets like EMN.
They could fix this by making more sets like KTK, RTR, ISD, NPH, ALA, ZEN, LOR, TSP that actually sold out in part thanks to Legacy (and Commander/Modern) players but no, they need to keep making "three good cards for standard, everything else is crap" sets because we're in an age where companies compete to see how much they can penny pinch and browbeat out of you instead of how much they can improove over the competition.
Designing for Legacy isn't hard, you don't need to make "U. Instant. This spell can't be countered, you win the game!" cards. Nahiri, Thought-Knot Seer, Flip Jace, Monastery Mentor, Eidolon of the Great Revel, Deathrite Shaman, Golgari Charm, Young Pyromancer, Griselbrand, Delver of Secrets, Liliana of the Veil, Snapcaster Mage, Elesh Norn, Gitaxian Probe, Surgical Extraction, Glistener Elf, Emrakul, Iona, Jace the Mind-Sculptor, Stoneforge Mystic, Batterskull, Preordain... All these cards are post NWO, have made waves in Legacy, some completely changed the format and most didn't even get played when they were Standard-Legal.
It's not a matter of not being able to support Legacy with cards and events, it's a matter of them not wanting to and not having the balls to say so because people giving up on Legacy would crash the price of their precious RL hoard sacks way harder than any ammount of reprints ever could.
Don't own duals here but that's more out of choice since I play Commander as my Eternal format and they're not as needed there. Too bad about no Legacy overseas though, they're pretty damned dedicated to the format there.
We have some fairly reasonable turnouts for Legacy in Ottawa store, anywhere from 8-16+, and I imagine a GP Legacy in OTT or MTL would do quite well.

The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.
Here in Mexico is "team limited" What's that? 2 headed dragon?
Please tell me.
You go in with a team of 3 and your team gets 12 (?) packs. You build three 40-card decks using these 12 packs as a shared pool. When paired up with another team, each of your team members plays a standard match against one of the other team's members, and whichever team wins more matches wins the round.
Sure does seem like they are trying to leave eternal formats in the hands of individual stores (like StarCity's Open series) to have them...only 3 Modern (one of which is team) GPs in the states all next year is ridiculous...

team modern sounds fun, i bet that pro hate it, but i love it.
Which is basically BOM or Prague Eternal.
Fact is: the lack of a European Legacy GP is more than disappointing, same is true for Asia.

Selling some cards I don't want.
Generally less than tcg mid.
They don't need Legacy events on 17 since EMA is already sold out and EMA2 comes out on 2018.

Legacy is also very big in Japan.
I don't get why we can't get more Legacy. They routinely fill to capacity and make people happy.
