Just opened a box, all 5 of my mythics were in the Tamiyo art boosters, including the foil Nahiri's Wrath. No DFC mythics however. In canada for reference.
I tried some more tiny sample testing from my local WM today. Exact same rack that I picked from before. Searched out Tamiyo only inside wrapped packs to test my hypothesis that this would be where I'd get a mythic, NOT get any foils, and NOT get any R or M Flip Cards.
Zero mythics. (inconclusive)
Zero foils. (more evidence to support my hypothesis)
Zero R or M flip cards. (more evidence to support my hypothesis)
I'd like to buy out the rest of the Tamiyo wrapped packs on that rack but at $4.18 a pack plus tax I'm not that motivated. If anyone else tries it out at your local box store, post up your results. Thanks.

This isn't a box mapping thread. This is a cautionary thread.
It's not "only Tamiyo-wrapped boosters have mythics", it's "in a given box, in North America, it's very likely that all the mythics will be packaged in the same flow wrap". Sure, people could use that information maliciously and buy a hundred boxes, go digging for the mythics, and maybe find them and then sell the "junk" packs, but keeping that information secret will end up hurting consumers. It's the same reason that Microsoft and other software companies announce vulnerabilities - "We know that there's a weakness here. Some hackers may have been unaware of it and will now seek to take advantage, but people need to know to be careful of X." In this case, it's buying loose packs.

I work for a shop and we opened over 2 sealed cases of product; this is a rumor and most certainly isn't true. ZERO boxes had all mythics in the same packs. We were aware of this and did not let people pick packs when prizes for the prerelease were distributed for this reason. When we got product for the shop we payed attention to see if it was true, which it isn't. Every single box had normal distribution of mythics, packaged in random varying arts like they should be.
This is like the "You have a better chance of opening a Charizard in a Blastoise pack" rumor all over again.

What evidence? I can confirm that out of all the cases we cracked for shop inventory, not one of them had this rumor apply to them. Every single box had normal mythic distribution.

Well for one the linked video evidence.
I am not saying that there are no messed up boxes in existence, I am saying that it is much less than the every single box some people are claiming. Multiple cases we received were just fine, I also saw someone try it on a store display box and fail.
There is something I don't underestand.
Isn't this extremely serious? It doesn't only mean that we can't trust stores with boosters, but could also have consequences to Draft/Sealed. There is a Pro Tour in some days!
Is it because it is not 100% confirmed? The video is pretty convincing in my opinion, also I have heard in twitter many people had the same problem: No mythics in 12, 20... boosters.
AND there is my personal experience. Our store gave us 16 boosters for prizes after my brothers top8'ed. All with only 2 diferent arts. And 0 mythics in 16 boosters. I personally think this is a extremely serious issue. I have been playing in that store for years, and they have fooled us! They literaly gave us ***** instead of our prizes. That sounds REALLY bad to me. Why isn't people freaking out as I am?
Typically, draft/sealed products at high-REL events are distributed, and then randomized again. Even if someone were to stack a pool ahead of time, the odds that your partner in collusion will end up with the stacked pool is really low. Plus, good luck winning in sealed with that Deploy the Gatewatch and Mind's Dilation Mythic does not equal sealed bomb.
As far as what happened at your store, I'd say it's probably a fluke. You're in Spain, according to your avatar, and this issue is only supposed to affect North American boxes. Also, the store would have to have opened several packs out of the box in order to figure out which wrapper had the mythics. Bad luck happens sometimes (just ask me about my box of Modern Masters II!).
We have a couple people posting on this thread saying that they haven't experienced this issue. That means that it doesn't affect all boxes. Whether it affects most, half, some, or only a scant few, the takeaway on this is "Don't buy loose packs except from stores." Or, if you're a store, "Don't let people buy half a dozen packs, open then, and then pick the packs that they want from the box."

3 from Wolf packs (Tree of Perdition, Ulrich, Gisa and Geralf)
1 from Liliana (either Emrakul or Tamiyo),
1 from Tamiyo (either Emrakul or Tamiyo)
Small sample size but enough to convince me this is not too big a deal.
Edit: Bought in Germany.
Thanks for correction, your sample is invalid.

Well said. Something happened with packaging collation/randomization this go around and it has been discovered. Whether it is isolated or widespread we are getting reports of the phenomena occurring. I'd guess packs we see released here in the US/NA will have the "problem" fixed with subsequent printings. But for now it should be BUYER BEWARE of loose packs.

Draft just fired, I personally opened a sealed box. 2 mythics were pulled, Gisa and Geralf from a Tamiyo art pack, and Decimator of the provinces from a Liliana art pack. Could this be a localized issue?
I opened a box yesterday and tried this theory. I got six mythics. one of which was foil, but I did get six. I split the box into three columns. one, Liliana, two, werewolf, three, Tamiyo . I went down each column. Nothing in Liliana or werewolf. But in Tamiyo , i got the mythics. So, i guess this is true for the most part. Once you find one mythic, take note of the package. then keeping opening that art, and you'll more than likely get all the non-flip mythics. coincidentally, i got no flip mythic though. still, interesting experiment.

I was originally going to post in here that this was true, but then I opened my last column and it did not hold true. Here were the results (and yes my box was insane with 8 mythics):
Smoldering
Ulrich of the Krallenhorde
Gisela, the Broken Blade
Liliana, the Last Hope
Deploy the Gatewatch
Tree of Perdition
Gisa and Geralf
After the first column, I had opened six mythics (two are flip and apparently don't count for this). I basically thought that was it based on the reddit post and videos and sure enough for the second column there were no mythics (Tamiyo).
However, on the last column (Liliana) I got:
Tamiyo, Field Researcher
Liliana, the Last Hope
I obviously was very pleased with the pulls, but it does seem to put some questions into this theory. Maybe it's the time they were printed? Maybe only a subset of boxes?

It seems that people are misunderstanding the premise, which further muddies the (already confusing) waters. The initial claim was that packs WITH THE SAME FLOW WRAP (aka pack wrapper) in one box have all the mythics. Not just in one column. So do you remember what the wrapper was for each pack that had a mythic? That's the relevant bit, not whether or not they were stacked on the left, center, or right.
Caveat: I have opened exactly four packs of EMN (and they weren't mine), so I have zero first-hand knowledge of this issue.

I think you misunderstood my post. I specifically wrote the art for each wrapper (i.e. Smoldering Werewolf, Tamiyo, and Liliana). Like many, I separated my box into three columns, one for each pack art and then opened all of one art at once. This is not the standard box mapping of left, middle, and right although I can understand calling them "columns" can be confusing.
Long story short, I followed the same methodology as the video from Delirium and mine (and others) boxes seem to be inconsistent with the claim.
I tested this theory tonight. My friend opened Ulrich from his Tamiyo pack, so I got the remaining Tamiyo packs from the same box in the US, and all the packs were rares. One could say the mythics were in the other pack arts, but Ulrich was in the Tamiyo art. My friends who drafted also pulled mythics from various pack arts, with the packs from the same box. So I'm calling this theory bogus. At least it was for us here.

Ulrich is a flip Mythic. This only corresponds to NON-flip mythics. With that said it seems there are some boxes that don't exhibit this phenomenon while some do.

I tried to test this theory yesterday in Canada with no confirmation of the theory. I bought three packs from a new box, one of each picture. First pack I opened was a Lili pack and it had a Gisa and Geralf. Told the guy worked to grab the rest of the Lili packs from the box and I would buy them. Opened the other two packs and found an Ishkanah in the Tamiyo pack. So it seems this is not true for every box. And no, didn't buy the rest of the Lili boxes because I didn't want to waste money.

It's possible then that this box was in fact one of those. Because ALL the Tamiyo packs were Rares. Sigh.
