White still got the strongest things.
Seems like spirits got a lot of new playable toys.
Zombies and Vamps got some things.
Werewolves finally got an Instant that can transform up to one Werewolf.
And now we see why they let free discard into this set: There's all of five Madness cards, and most are so-so. It'll be risky drafting a madness deck with only one pack of SoI to really give you any Madness cards.
Delirium got a lot of tools to work with, and I'm looking forward to Emerge as well.
Overall, not a bad set, just hoped for better color balance.
Not a single instant speed burn spell (to the face). But every color has had instant speed removal changed to sorcery. The problem is their is a TON of flash in this set, and only some colors get it. They have a spells matter theme for red, which I really like, but then made it so nearly EVERY spell must be played on your turn in your main phases, then at end of your turn, opponent flashes in their cards and swings into you for the win. Don't get me wrong, I like the red mythics, and one or two of the rares, but putting so much flash in the set, with so little instant speed removal means red will get completely trampled over by the vastly superior colors. Who know who I'm talking about, non grixis you!
So am I reading this correctly that Foul Emissary can potentially dig up an Elder Deep-Fiend, and then you can curve right into the octo-drazi the next turn AND replace your 1/1 with a 3/2? (AND tap out four of your opponent's permanents?)
Vexing Scuttler would have been a cool rare I think, if it gave you a card you own back from your graveyard or exile (it is an Eldrazi after all). If it did, it could have an interaction with Eldritch Evolution.
Interesting, if not that good, Ball Lightning variant with provoke for red.
So next week at prereleases around the world, every deck will be Wx or will go 0-4 to 2-2 at absolute best. Thanks for the balance wizards. In a world overrun by monsters and eldrazi, and the humans protector avacyn is dead, it's the humans that will be undeniably the strongest. Apparently this innistrad block is the movie Independence Day
Is it just me or does choking restraints ability not work? The sacrifice is in the cost. Once it resolve, there is no longer an enchanted creature...? I'm not a rule lawyer, maybe the target of the resolution is locked at activation?

In this case, "enchanted creature" means "whatever creature this aura was enchanting when it left the battlefield". This is a general rule called "last known information" (about the Aura in this case) and it's why if, say, an Aura has an activated ability that affects the enchanted creature, removing the Aura in response to the ability doesn't stop it from having its effect. It still remembers what it last enchanted and uses that as "enchanted creature".
Lots of good commons and uncommons. Limited will likely be pretty fast.
Otherworldly Outburst seems really good. Trade up in combat and get a 3/2 for R.
And a worse Fate Forgotten.

The next set is likely to be artifact themed so I imagine we'll get any necessary hosers in that set
Standard - Some kind of control
Modern - UB Mill (casual)
EDH - Meren's Grave Shenanigans

extricator of sin plus it's flip for eldrazi decks.
Still this is really cool!
