What's up with Innistrad and having creatures that completely take over the identity of others? I'm on my phone so I can't tag it now, but this is like a mini version of Essence of the Wild. The gift that keeps on giving...
I'm not a Johnny at all so I'm not excited about the janky combos with this card, but I have to say it's one of the most WTF cards ever, a really original design that will turn many Limited games into a total 1/3 free-for-all. Definitely one of the craziest cards I can remember, probably not good enough for Constructed, but definitely good for laughs, and trolling your opponents. I really like it.
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
This abiltiy seems more eldrazi then spirit strangelly enough
Man... I read this card and thought "wow this is weird and cool!" and then I saw this and I felt a little crestfallen since this really is perfect for an Eldrazi, especially an Emrakul spawn.

They didn't care that he was the savior of Fort Keff, the great hunter of Ondu, the champion of Kabira. To them, he was just another piece of flesh, a thing with life to be drained away.
Clash of Realities doesn't work with that card, because it does require combat damage.
otherwise it would be even more broken.
I just meant in terms of turning things into 1/3 Spirits to give your other ETBing creatures targets to kill. Granted, turning actual creatures into permeating 1/3s mostly acts as removal already, so it's pretty pointless on top of being janky, but the fact that it specifically makes them 3-toughness Spirits stood out.

"The true measure of all heroes is not what they achieve, but who they inspire." —Triumph of Gerrard
to all of the people debating if this is constructed playable or if it is just funny jank, please keep underestimating. I am shocked to see this card, it may not be good enough for Modern, but for battlecruiser Eldrazi Standard, or EDH, this card is broken. it reads 'G- put target Eldrazi Titan in burn range and render them harmless'

Project Booster Fun makes it less fun to open a booster.
Trippy as *****. And extremely confusing. Is that an Ulamog you just dropped? Okay, I'll block it with my Permeating Mass. Lots of potential to be abused here.

This should have been mythic over Grim Flayer. While Grim is very powerful, but it feels purely functional as a card (also, why does an axe provide trample?). This card is hilarious, flavourful with a unique ability, constructed playable possibly (i.e. flashing in with rattlechains) and has the potential to turn limited into stall-city.
Otherwise, I love everything about this card and cannot wait to play this.

Ok, after the hype is gone... analyzing the actual playability...
this is not very good.
it's mostly a worse 1/3 deathtouch.
I mean, 99% of the time you'd avoid combat with a 1/3 deathtouch, you'd also avoid combat with this dude.
ditto he's better against anything indestructible, but this weird ability is nothing more than an awesome way to template bad deathtouch... really
I mean, I don't think its exactly a constructed card, but for a single G mana, you get an early game blocker with the potential to turn a late game threat like Kalitas, Worldbreaker, etc into a 1/3. That in turn, could make your biggest threat a 1/3...which can then turn their next guy into a 1/3...
Oh boy...may just leave this one on the bench because I see it leading to *alot* of totally unanticipated boardstates.

But the people behind the barrier knew.

And this dies if you attack into it with your 7/7, but your 7/7 will turn into a 1/3 after.
I'm in love.

Sadly, unless you can somehow stop the damage prevention, it doesn't work that way. The damage to Gideon is prevented.
The card is one of my favorites in the set, though. Just fun for days.
At least you can damage Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker (reach?) and he stops being a planeswalker because Permeating Mass is not a planeswalker.
Ah yes, but it would work on Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker
Edit: Raptorchan beat me too it.
