I didn't see anyone mention this in response to the Lure talk, so I guess I have to be the party-pooper.
This card is worse than a 1/1 with deathtouch when combined with Lure and power-pumping. When a creature gets multi-blocked, it needs to deal lethal damage to the first creature the attacking player assigned as first before it can deal any damage to the second, third (and so on) creatures.
This means if the Mass has 6 power and gets blocked by 3 4/4s, it can deal 4 damage to the first 4/4, 2 to the second, and 0 to the third. After damage is dealt, the first 4/4 will die from lethal damage (though the Mass' ability would trigger for it and fail to do anything), the second will take 2 and become a Mass (with 2 damage marked on it, so if the Mass had 1 more power this 4/4 would have died after becoming a Mass), and the other 4/4 will continue to be a 4/4.
If the Mass was instead a 3 power deathtouch creature, all of the 4/4s would be dead because 1 point of damage from a deathtouch creature is lethal.
At most, the Mass can transform one creature per combat, no matter how big you make it (unless damage prevention or indestructible is involved).
Gosh, this thing should have been an Ooze. The ability resembles an infectious oozy mass so much. It even was Maro's preview card ffs. What a missed opportunity!
I would like this to be an ooze as well... But a living ooze would not be resist Emakrul influence. The flavor text says it all. I don't know if this tidbit will play a larger role in the story. Otherwise, maybe it would have been best to make it an ooze in a different set.
Actually, this card got something quite right - we haven't really seen Spirits get corrupted by Emrakul, right? At least, not directly (there's still no evidence a possessed body can't be mutated by Emrakul either, that's still speculation/"conclusion" on the woodland spirits' part, based on this card's flavor text). At the same time, no one said an Eldrazi horror can't be possessed by a spirit either, right?
Kamigawa confirmed to have natural advantage over Eldrazi.
I think first strike is the best "combo" with this card. even if it only changes 1 creature per combat it can never die and it's much easier to give than indestructible.
The only thing missing after giving it first strike is reach
I wouldn't use words like fun or hilarious with this card.
Superfriends or ramp can pay green mana and gain several Time Walks against creature decks. No one is dealing damage until they start droping big stuff.
It also forces you to leave removal after sideboarding just to deal with it.
I predict that this is going to be extremely annoying card to play against in standard.

This is true, and I realized this after posting the comment about Lure. However, if it were blocked by several indestructible creatures and it had deathtouch and pumps... celebrations shall abound! Niche case, I know, but still super awesome way to eliminate your opponent's smirk.
A lot of people seem to think this card is about as bad as sedge scorpion, but 3 toughness is the magic numer in this format. 3 toughness permits profitable early blocks against hangarback walker, sylvan advocate, and reflector mage, and of course any tokens. I would even posit that a 1/3 deathtouch for g or g1 would be constructed playable right now. This also has the added benefit of blanking certain hard to deal with threats (ulamog being the most notable), but the downside of not being able to transform other creatues via fights.b
Maybe the most interesting direction to take this card would be the voltron route becuase even with just first strike, or enough power it can outclass an entire board by virtue of its ability.
What about a g/u build with a play set of this and a play set of clone? Clone just comes in as a copy of target creature for 2uu. But to have 8 of these on the board and green is good at giving trample or death touch and blue is good at giving flying. Easy day. Yes I know it will still be a 1/3 with trample but easily buffed by other green spells. Rancor comes to mind. Those would be my only creatures though. Is this and clone. The rest are spells and lands. Hilarious yet somewhat effective
Not really, other than taking out their best guy assuming they have no first strike.
He only has one point of damage to assign across every creature blocking it
Rattlechains comes to mind immediately, because it's a spirit. Wasn't there a card that gave creatures you control flying in standard? Something like 'creatures you control gain flying as long as you have an enchantment'?

Rose tint my world, keep me safe from my trouble and pain.
No-Dachi seems like the most efficient way to make this guy a powerhouse. Daybreak coronet or sword of vengeance would be super strong but sword doesn't go online until turn four and daybreak is too fragile
