We are inches away from mythics being strictly better rares.
This set is awful on every level. The flavor sucks, the rarity distribution sucks, and the cards aren't even slightly interesting.
the problem with mythics in this set particularly is not that they're better rares, they're even probably the worst mythics in any set I remember in average.
but then, there's a couple that will cost small fortunes such as this one
mythics should be either all tournament staples or all just timmy or jhonny weird and stupid cards.
so they'd have consistent prices.
they do both and transform our packs to a lottery ticket.

Aye, the people hoping to use this as a budget goyf....this will likely be the chase mythic of the set. A somewhat smaller goyf with trample that smoothes your draws, finding lands when you need them, removal when you need it, disruption when you need it, digging for your silver bullets that you sideboarded in...
Oh and dredgevine will want it. There any decks using Sidisi, Brood Tyrant hmmmm
Pretty good card, but not really mythic feeling by any means.
what do you want it to be a 2 man 7/7 trample to be mythic, its a 2 mana 4/4 with trample that filters the top 3 cards of your deck (ideally, however not very hard to make happen) I'd say this card is very mythic, just because its not a walker doesn't mean it isn't a mythic.
The real strength of the card is in it's first ability, the ability to set up your draws, something I think a lot of people are overlooking. Card is definitely stronger than people are giving it credit for.
So it is just a tarmogoyf with trample that looses a point in toughtness and could never be better than said tarmogoyf?
With 4 card tipes in YOUR graveyard this is a 4/4 trample while tarmogoyf is a 4/5.
Bad card is bad. Maybe in standard...
You don't play standard do you? Because that's clearly what this card had in mind. Comparing standard and modern spells is always bad.

card is possibly modern playable, and by possibly I mean there is a good chance.
Pretty impressive. This and Liliana are gonna rock. Sinister concoction To the slaughter, pick the brain, obsessive skinner... mindwrack demon... ill most likely go GB.

I agree. Why not use this alongside tarmo instead of as a substitute is my logic. It helps make your tarmos bigger upon hit, smoothes your draws, etc. And it's still a 4/4 trampler for 2 mana. Not much is wrong with this card. It's incredibly efficient
Winmore card is winmore card.
This card is nowhere near Tarmogoyf powerlevel. Seriously, we've had Delirium for a while now, it's impossible to consistently get, making this a 2/2 with upside, only if your opponent has an empty board, aka win more card, aka crap.
how is playing this on turn two not great, followed by removal or lily to shrink their dude you filter top 3 and within a turn its a 4/4 trampler that is filtering all day.

In modern it's not hard to consistently turn on at all, it's just that the current delirium cards have a very low floor which makes it very risky if your opponent can disrupt your delirium with cards like rest in peace.

mythic shouldn't mean crazy efficient, should mean crazy big or crazy complex or crazy important to the story.
a 2 mana 7/7 trample that's called "Little Puppy" and has the art with a poodle lying down in a sofa shouldn't be mythic, might even be common as there's absolutely nothing special about it, except it's completely broken and shouldn't ever see print at any rarity.
rarity is not about efficiency, or at least, should not be.
Cards like Worst Fears, even if it's really bad from efficiency standpoint is a proper mythic. Lotus Cobra, in the other hand is an utility card probably most suited to be an uncommon that weirdly enough got printed at mythic.

If you live in magical Christmas land, yes. Delirium doesn't work, it never did, and it won't now.
Nothing I said was magical Christmas land this on turn two is what it is meant to be (aka a two drop) and following it up with one of either any removal or lily or basically anything to hinder blockers makes it great and then it just fuels itself..... what about that is magical Christmas land?
It also dodges Ultimate Price, which is a nice bonus in Standard. The trample alone is going to be nice in either Standard or Modern. Makes it harder for pesky weenies and tokens to block it effectively. Add in the smoother card draws and it is an amazing card.

A fetch by turn 3
A discard spell on turn 1 or 3
An instant removal spell for their creature on turn 1 or 3
That is most of the way there, and a pretty common line of play for jund. So that's 2-3 different card types in the graveyard, when the creature connects you can put any number of the top 3 cards of your library into the graveyard. Oh sure it's gonna wiff here and there but it's not like it's hard when the creature's combat damage ability enables it's delirium.
Now, early game it might be hard to get him into play as a 4/4 but that's what lightning bolt, maelstrom pulse, liliana, abrupt decay etc the tons of removal are for.
And because of the trample this doesn't get blocked for days by lingering souls/timely tokens like goyf.
I seriously question the thought process of the folks saying this card is bad. Even in Modern, I wouldnt be surprised to see him as a 4/4 on T3. In standard hes completely bonkers. GB now has a pretty dang nice curve for delirium decks, with at least 2 cards for 1, 2, 3, and 4 cmc that are playable. He's friends with a 2-of Gitrog at the top as well. Finally, whoever says delirium doesnt work must not play standard at all. 2 of the decks I play only have 4 types (creatures, lands, instants, sorcs/enchants) and both of those decks hit delirium pretty consistently, maybe not on T2, but by later game easily.
People arent saying Sylvan Advocate is crap because hes only a 2/3 on T2, hes good because late game hes a 4/5 on T7.

sure.
but a ton of chase mythics are not that good in limited, nor are big or weird or complex enough.
they're mythic just to sell packs.
just like this Grim Flayer, or Lotus Cobra or Voice of Resurgence
sure it's good on limited, it's also good on constructed and on kitchen tables, and everywhere else.
but even at uncommon, it wouldn't break limited.
make it rare and everyone is happy.
card will be crazy expensive because everyone will want a playset and it's a mythic.
also, I really think that they should stop taking all the power away from commons...
I mean, Lightning Bolt was a common once and there was no issues with it.
today, commons are mainly limited fodder...
if you look through all the decks that do fine in tournaments, they'll have almost no commons at all...
this is weird.
I completely disagree with this policy of printing some bad cards that are bad for the sake of making other cards look good in comparison.
I don't understant why they print unplayable jank...
stuff that's not good for constructed, not good for limited, not interesting enough for kitchen table, not telling a story, etc.
there are plenty of those every set.
