Vorthos-player with way too much time on his hands and a love of thematic decks.
EDH - Yes, Each One is Named After a Song. I love tying music to my decks.
Also, what is it with Flash-wolves always being Wolf Spirits in this block?
Wolf Spirits exist this block since they tie in better than normal Wolf creatures into the supernatural theme of this block, but even more intriguing: The cards then support two tribes at once: The Wolf/Werewolf tribe and the Spirit tribe. It may not be very noticable, but flash creatures fill an important role in both tribes mechanically. Werewolves benefit from your flexibility in the timing of casting your spells since they are transformed more easily, but Spirits are also supposed to have a very lose theme around ETB effects that are aided by flash, so there is that.
If you are going to have Woves with flash and Wof Spirt creatures, why not make them Wolf Spirit creatures with flash if you are at it?

Wish it would have been "Gains indestructible". Functionally would have done the same thing except you'd really get a lot more value out of it. Overall nice card though; and great art!

I think what I dislike most about this is that they used a great name on a really uninspired card. If you're going to call it Spirit of the Hunt even if it has to suck at least give it some bonkers ability. Or just a thematically appropriate ability. Why does the Spirit of the Hunt make wolves more durable?
Just calling it "Spirit of the Pack" would have been way better. "Hunt" implies attacking/offense; "Pack" implies protection/solidarity.
Excellent card. Especically like how its extremely cheap (3 mana), its got flash, a 3/3 body and it makes your wolves and werewolves able to tank some damage they normally wouldn't be able to take.

Depends strongly on your understanding of "hunting." Hunting is rarely about physical strength or combat and more often about fortitude. A fool goes into a situation and risk physical harm when all they need is patience. Out think and outlast the prey. The 0/+3 is one of the few things WotC did right regarding flavor for this set.

Modern werewolves already is full up at the 3 cmc slot. This could be a decent sideboard option to add a little bit of defense to them, but I don't think it's worth it.
I'm digging this card, especially since werewolves are very weak in the 3-drop slot. They dropped the ball on Silverfur Partisan by having it be "instant and sorcery" instead of "spell or ability"...at least the latter would've worked perfectly with Arlin.
I was already thinking about including Wolfir Avenger in the deck anyway since there isn't much else, but this is a strict upgrade.
Just curious, why wolf spirit instead of spirit wolf? How does Wizards decide these things?
They almost always put the biological type before the "class" or "job" type; Spirit is a strange type because it can seemingly fill both roles. For example there are Spirit Warriors, Spirit Soldiers, Spirit Knights, etc, but when it's an animal spirit it's always "Dragon Spirit" or "Elemental Spirit." There are even Angel Spirits and Demon Spirits, which seems redundant, since they're already supernatural.
The only card that seems to break this rule is Howlgeist, for unknown reasons. ¯\(°_o)/¯
