I love the new art, but I don't imagine this will see constructed play. The reason one plays Dispel is mainly to counter instant-speed threats/card advantage like Company/Secure the Wastes/White Sun's Zenith/Sphinx's Revelation, and to win counter wars in blue control mirrors, right? Countering spot removal seems more like a fringe benefit to that kind of effect, not something you'd usually dedicate sideboard cards to.
Which is why i wish they had reprinted Rebuff the Wicked. It would have been used in different decks than dispel and white honestly deserves it.

Hi, I'm new!
Mark my words, the Year of Eldrazi will not be the last we see of them.
Declaration In Stone, Murder and Ruinous Path will be used in this upcoming standard. This stops those. Dispel only stops one of those.
Not to mention Angelic Purge and lockdown auras in limited. Since the only common counterspell in SOI is Deny Existence, this alone significantly ups the playability of blue.
Dredging this thread up, just for rule clarification, if I'm casting a creature spell, my opponent casts a hard counter, can I counter their counter with Turn Aside? Or does my opponent's spell have to be targeting an established, fully cast permanent, for Turn Aside to be an option? I'm assuming it can only be used when they are targeting a fully cast permanent.

Permanents only exist on the battlefield so Turn Aside can't be used to counter a counter spell.
In the future, please create new threads for questions like this. This is both a pretty significant necro (over 9 months) and is a rules question and should be in the Rules Forum instead of buried at the end of a different thread.

Tamiyo is so cute.
Not really. The day Magic died was a few days ago when people cheered over Uncommon Murder like we got Swords to Plowshares
Thanks to DNC from Heroes of the Plane Studios for the sig
Check my Pauper Cube!
I certainly would have preferred Tamiyo art to go with Tamiyo flavor text on this card.

Negate gets both. I'm having a funny feeling we won't see it after Karns rotates out.
