Whoa, she's gorgeous in that art. I normally don't say that about drawings/paintings, but hubba hubba.
And oh sweet zombie jesus, I hope this is the last we see the Eldrazi forever and ever. I liked them in ROE well enough, and actually thought they were cool. Now, in typical WotC fashion, they've been driven into the ground so hard I could puke.
And didn't we see this exact same ending in Guardians of the Galaxy? Great movie, I love it really, but not exactly the kind of thing I'd ape M:tG story beats from.
I hate the magic story so much, I bet some random literature students could write a better one for a crate of beer.
This. A thousand times this. In one hand you have wonderful art and in the other such dribble for writing it's unbelievable. I love the Zen art book, the writing in it is soooo uninteresting though. Wizards needs to spend more time with their writers, or find new ones, as of now I'd never want to see movie versions of these stories (which all feel like rehashed mainstream media plot ideas), creative is not the word I'd use.
The "keep Innistrad alive" crew are happy with this.
The "eldrazi have to be dangerous and prove it by destroying magics beloved plane or planeswalkers" crew is not.
The happy medium crew of "Emrakul has actually done a lot and caused a lot of death, and probably won't be utterly destroyed" are happy I think.

This is a win
I agree, this is the best possible scenario overall. I'm annoyed with no Jenrik art or information. If you're going to KILL HIM OFF can we at least get a portrait of the guy not dead and in stone plz? Kthx.
Every time I see a new oath art I keep thinking about tattoo assassins for some reason...
I'm hoping Nahiri's mad revenge quest goes to tarkir to get back at Ugin only for Sarkhan Vol to welcome her to his world of people killing each other because the dragons tell them to. She awkwardly thanks Sarkhan for already messing the plane up for her and leaves.
Why does everyone just assume that Ulamog and Kozilek are dead and gone? They explicitly made a point of telling the audience that the physical manifestations of the two titans on Zendikar WERE NOT the entirety of each? If anything, the Jace-tus League had a hard-fought and barely-survivable win over them, but they didn't actually finish them off so much as wound them badly and then let them go lick their wounds. Not that the League knows that, of course (well, Jace SHOULD know, considering Ugin told him that, but more likely he's forgotten because he's a moody teenager who knows EVERYTHING). And now Emrakul is contained, albeit without anyone watching the prison like Nahiri did (brilliant move there, guys).
I highly doubt we see them again for a while, but I think it's pretty likely that somewhere down the road, all three Titans will be back in some form to teach the League not to pat themselves on the back too hard.

Get your puke bag ready
Emrakul is only captured it will be a matter of time before she escapes again.
Plus the words "known eldrazi Titans" so that's a big hint of there's more eldrazi Titans (leaders) out there/on there way to replace Ulamog and kozilek.

Nah, best possible scenario:
Emrakul nearly destroys the plane, the "good guys" band together to try and stop it. Emrakul is proven truly powerful when Jace dies from the effort. Liliana is in grief and becomes a potential villain with actual depth (vs most villains), but the plane is saved, and Emrakul is defeated but not destroyed.
I doubt Jace will die (unless it saids that In The spoiler of the other art)
I doubt Jace will die (unless it saids that In The spoiler of the other art)
Oh I doubt it too, but it's good for those of us that are sick of him, shows Emrakul's power, and sets Liliana up as a potential villain that you could still emphasis with. Way more good stuff comes about as a result of his death than does from him living.
Except the ending reveals the evilness of Lilianas is draining in a way (she joins the Gatewatch.)
As far as I'm concerned Nahiri is the villian of this story.
And here we are. At least the story articles are enjoyable, the character designs solid enough to carry such a plot and gimmicks like meld and Eldrazi mutation transformations are cool enough.
Moreover some of this art is really good. There's not much in the way of consistency in the portrayal of characters, but as jarring as it can be sometimes it's actually quite nice how much free reign they give artists to show their own styles.
Here's to hoping they keep the B planeswalkers interesting. It's one of the most important things to get right in my book.
Edit: Y'know what? They're lucky to have such a responsive market feeding them. Hollywood must be jealous.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
Well, for all the similarities EMN had with Kamigawa, it even ended like Kamigawa.
Sorin now suffers the same fate as Konda.
Emrakul sort of suffers the same fate as O-Kagachi (Not quite the same, but in fairness, Emrakul probably outpowers O-Kagachi/Ulamog/Kozilek and at least O-Kagachi had successors to replace it).
Liliana joining the Gatewatch makes her sort of like Toshiro, except with way less wit and charisma (Toshiro still preferable).
Tamiyo and Nissa finishing the job makes them the sisters of flesh and spirit.
That leaves the one pulling the strings, Nahiri, to be Mochi, although she escaped, unlike Mochi... simply because there was no Hidetsugu around.
Considering my favorite character from Kamigawa was Hidetsugu... we have an inferior Kamigawa right here.
What makes me sweep about all this, is that now Innistrad is the 'Eldrazi plane', so we are bound to see them the next time we return to it.
Actually, we'll end up pretty much where Lovecraft draws up his stories, except that the elder god hangs out on the moon instead of the sunken city. In the future, I'd love to see some strange traders show up in Nephalia that take the occasional traveller to the moon to sacrifice them to their god (cats from Saturn optional).
So, I'm absolutely satisfied with the result, but the way could have been more awesome.
I can see this working out. If Eldrazi only spawn on Innistrad, Wizard's undying love of tenticles will lead us to Innistrad semifreaquently, which means more werewolves! I'm only joking a little here.

Why are you so concerned with a character who's only been mentioned in one card's flavor text and a couple stories when there are a lot more flavor text characters like Hal/Alena or in other blocks like Perisophia who have been more relevant/prevalent to a story and not received cards?
His death doesn't require art because he is just about as important as werewolf hunter X, or cultist X in the grand scheme of things.
Edit: I'm actually peeved we didn't get a Ludevic, Necroalchemist card.

"Battlelands" already don't make sense because unless the other 5 are printed in "Ravnica the Third: Battle for Jace's Head" or something, "battle" means impressively nothing.
