I wonder how log it'll take before exiling something just doesn't matter anymore.
Don't use hyperbole. They have printed a few creatures that can come back from exile, but are otherwise overcosted for what they do and have never seen play outside of food chain decks. This is another creature in that list. No one wants a 3 mana 3/3 that still dies in combat, to wraths, or to any non-targeted death. They aren't printing blanket "put all cards in exile into play" or any crap like that.
calling this as probably the best rare in the set, very solid, definitely Modern playable
In what deck though? You still have to spend 3 mana every turn for a creature that has zero combat abilities, I mean it can be annoying, but I don't see where you would play this. If it allowed you to put it into exile from the graveyard then it would be good with Emerge at least.

He can be sarcastic if he wants. He still has a point. Maybe not now but sometime in the future maybe the exile zone looses its luster form all these effects and just becomes graveyard 2.
Yes this is a good gift for Food Chain. Yes it combos with Rest in Peace or similar effects. And yes it is an efficient creature that's hard to remove.
All of that is good.
BUT WAIT
I have a new goal
I really really want Wizards to print an eldrazi fatty with emerge that exiles cards from the graveyard when it enters play. It would almost be a shame if they didn't.

As of the last time i check MaRo hates things coming back from Exile. This is likely the only card in the set that does it.

Hi, I'm new!
Mark my words, the Year of Eldrazi will not be the last we see of them.
You really have to counterspell this guy or he'll never go away.

These days, some wizards are finding they have a little too much deck left at the end of their $$$.

Nobody liked it because all of the Patrons except Akki used useless tribes that no one ever played outside of Kamigawa block. Seriously, the patrons were for Goblins, Moonfolk (not Merfolk), Foxes, Snakes, and Rats. On top of that, the one eternal Patron in the bunch, Patron of the Akki, is counter-intuitive to a Goblin tribal strategy.
People would have liked the mechanic if it was playable. In fact, Patron of the Orochi is seeing play in Snake EDH now that it is a thing.
Such a pain to get rid of if you're just hoping to kill things. Easy enough to kill in combat at least being a 3/3, but even then this guy backed up with removal is terrifying. Another griffin for food chain combo in legacy if that deck wants more of the griffin effect though I'm no expert on the deck so I'm not sure if it's good enough or not. Certainly more hardcastable than griffin at 3 generic and really good with deathrite shaman of course to enable a turn 3 combo.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
Wow, your opponent can actually never target it and fully get rid of it -- you have to counter it or have bigger creatures. This thing looks powerful on the surface, I wonder how it'll stack up in constructed.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, this thing is brutal! It'll eat at least 2-3 straight removals before they can deal with it permanently! Also, 3 for a 3/3? Nice P/T to mana cost ratio too I like this one a lot!
Now we need some reusable graveyard-exiling card to make this thing NEVER go away xD, I guess for the moment for modern or casual it'll mix fine with Relic of Progenitus, I even stuck 4 of those artifacts on a deck already, heh.
I understand you can use this thing too to recast it a lot of times with Food Chain, since you exile it to add 4 mana of any color and recast it for 3, leaving one mana unused.
Also, MaRo said he was the one who most adamantly stood against the whole processor mechanic since he wants to keep the exile zone as it was before it got renamed: The "removed from the game zone", where cards supposedly were completely locked out of the game for good.
I hope we get a landslide of unofficial leaks that destroy WOTC's feelings. Sick of this slow annoying trickle.
I'm hoping WOTC's feelings get destroyed for "exile = second graveyard". This is like the sixth one? I get that it's a reference to Misthollow Griffin, but still...

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

And as for the food chain + something that can sac for free = infinite
Let's see
And a whole lot more.
Dies triggers don't work with food chain, since it exiles.

How? After he chumps, he goes to the GY. You'd need a way to move him from GY to exile for him to come back and chump again.
Stay reasonable, be mindful of your expectations and don't feed the trolls.

Fan of Both old and new Slivers (But the new ones are still better anyway)
C Call of Emrakul - G vs R DD: Elves vs. Goblins - W vs B DD: Divine vs. Demonic - WUB Esper Artifice - RGW Aura Dancers

BR Skeleton Warriors - RG Night of The Howlpack - B Bog Murderers - BR Eldrazi Assault - BGU Ulamog's Swarm
I think Scavenging Ooze says BFFS.
You can exile it with ooze for a counter and then recast it. I don't know which deck would want both though.
