As an additional cost to cast Eldritch Evolution, sacrifice a creature.
Search your library for a creature card with converted mana cost X or less, where X is 2 plus the sacrificed creature's converted mana cost. Put that card onto the battlefield, then shuffle your library. Exile Eldritch Evolution.

Imagine a world where it didn't exile and you could go decent 3 drop into Goblin Dark-Dwellers into 7 drop like Bruna, the Fading Light and potentially reanimate your 3 drop again immediately (and that's in standard, too). It makes sense that it's exiled, it could be very easily broken if it wasn't. I'm still looking forward to it as I've been wanting to play a resto-angel deck for a while and this creates a new tool for those strats.
I initially thought this might be Modern playable but having the sacrifice as part of the casting makes this a blowout against counterspells. Could be interesting in Standard though.
But bare this in mind it's still a Weaker version of birthing pod
Exile or not you can get something 2 cost higher 1 turn sooner.
Not exactly "weaker". Birthing Pod has a required cost that you need to find (+1, nothing less), it's also 4 mana and 4 life for immediate activation, and can never be activated outside of sorcery speed. This has obvious drawbacks, but can also be flashed with flash enablers, and most importantly, can be copied without the additional sac cost.
It would be next to perfect at instant speed, this is still pretty dang close. In a block that cares so much about GY and creatures dying, it's absolutely perfect.

Weaker how? It's not repeatable like Pod, but it's also safe from permanent destruction, and get your stuff a turn earlier. Would be nice if one could play Pod alongside it though...
Maybe my rules understanding is a little iffy. But sacrificing a kitchen finks to fetch an archangel of thune seems like it might be a bit good? Would the finks trigger after the spell had resolved, therefore triggering archangel, therefore resetting finks? For me, that seems reasonable enough to warrant playing archangel in azban coco, which was a marginally playable card anyway.
I'm not sure its good enough as a non-creature spell in coco decks (for modern), but I think it has potential!
Maybe not in CoCo but Kiki-Chord and other creature toolbox decks are gonna have a field day with this.

I think it would have broken standard without the exile clause though, as 3 drop into dark dwellers into 7 drop is super busted.
with regards to is vs Chord it's almost certainly better outside of having an empty board state, or needing to create chord chains with eternal witness (a la Kiki Chord)
be really inrestig to see the new archetypes this spawns )
Matter reshaper into Reality Smasher is positively disgusting though
This card is kind of insane in the sense that it is a one turn super Pod. Being able to jump the curve is a big deal, I think it easily finds its way into Chord type lists.
This could theroetically make Twin a thing again, but with this tutoring for Kiki-Jiki instead of Twin. You'd need two 3-drops to combo off on turn 4, but Exarch, Pestermite, and Bounding Krasis aren't bad cards on their own and playing more than 8 of them wouldn't be too bad.

It's still ridiculously good without the exile clause. Not everything needs to Snapcaster'd.
True enough and been snaper castered sounds dumb

I guess that's true
1 turn sooner
And safe from destroy artifact spells
And no life required
