Honestly, I'm okay with this. It's very Timmy. Could end up being an alternative beatstick in Standard ramp to play around Infinite Obliteration or something, I dunno.
Doesn't really feel mythic-worthy, but can you imagine this floating around draft tables at rare? Yikes.
...and with that I'm officially concerned about the overall power levels of this set and general card quality. Crossing my thingers for the mothership to deliver today.

The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
card is completely bland, 7/7 trample haste with a overrun effect... alright, it's not weak, it will end limited games on the spot. but.... it's way too "vanilla" for a mythic.
this is probably mythic only because it generates real blowouts when cast in limited, but that's about it.
If I'm paying a metric ton of mana for a mythic spell I want a splashy and cool effect that makes me think about it... even if it's not constructed viable, mythic cards should at least make us think about it.
this is one of those cards that no one will remember when Kaladesh comes out.

I'm thinking maybe this could be played in a modern Sultai Delver deck with Thought Scour and Tasigur (as emerge fodder). Triple green is hard though...
Why would a Delver deck want this card? Even if it were a single green, I don't really see the payoff.
Reprint Craterhoof Behemoth? Nah, first let's fix everything that is 'wrong' with it and then release it...
Not green, so no Natural Order? Check!
Make his Overrun effect less broken? Check!
Now let's introduce some upgrades to make it look not so depowered...
Give it an alternative cost, which reduces his board impact? Check!
On cast trigger to dodge those evil counterspells that hold Standard in their grip? Check!
Easier to cast mana cost by discarding green mana symbols? Check!
Make the thing a bit taller because we all now the situations where Craterhoof didn't get the job done? Check!
I am so tired of Wizards 'fixing' past 'mistakes'...

Except it can also cost GGG. So that's still "vanilla"? Give me a break.
hmmm i don't know, Emerge might help it and i don't mind mythics like these because they are going to be cheaper. I'm holding my judgment specially because of Emerge and how hard/easy is to use it.

it doesn't cost GGG it costs GGG + a freaking SIX DROP CREATURE.
a six drop that could very well win the game by itself.
a six drop that could be more splashy and strong than this dude as many have been before.
Emerge is not delve, you're not reducing the cost using resources outside of the battlefield to cast, you're actually hurting your board position to be able to cast this dude at GGG and doing that by sacrificing your most likely strongest creature.

I don't know, because it'll win you the game super fast?
It's uncastable without an onboard Zombie Fish or Tasigur, and it only adds 2 to 3 points of P/T. The overrun effect doesn't look very useful in a Delver deck either.

How are you hurting your board position? By sacing a creature, for a bigger creature, that creates immediate payoff? Don't look at the CMC, look at the power of the creature your saccing. If it's 6, you need 3 creature on board to even the effect, anything with less power (most 6 drops in Standard) and you need less of a board. Turns an army of dorks into finishers, with trample. It may not be standard playable, or eternal playable, but it is the absolute farthest thing from "vanilla".
Brood Monitor might be a good choice to sac to play this for GGG. You want to maximize the number of other creatures getting the +2/+2. I think the biggest problem is that current ramp strategies rely on land-fetching, not on creatures that tap for mana. This means if you want to ramp up to playing Brood Monitor, you do so by fetching lands rather than having additional creatures in play. If Elvish Mystic were still around, this would be possible:
T1: Forest, Elvish Mystic
T2: Forest, Deathcap Cultivator, Elvish Mystic
T3: Forest, Brood Monitor
T4: Decimator of Provinces, sac Brood Monitor, attack for 20.
Unfortunately, we can't start ramping creatures until T2 now, and we have fewer options for ramp creatures which means we won't have as many by the time we play the big boar.
I like that, if you consider Craterhoof's body the "base," it has the boost it gives built in: 5/5 haste -> 7/7 haste and trample. So even though it doesn't actually get the buff because it's a cast trigger, the buff is still built into the design.
