Just to get the obvious out of the way: Demonic Pact's still in Standard.
Technically this isn't quite a colorshifted Donate (can't be used to dodge the "return at end of turn" clause on Act of Treason-type effects), but it's damn close. As far as effects I would have expected to be reprinted in a Modern set, that was not one of them.

"The true measure of all heroes is not what they achieve, but who they inspire." —Triumph of Gerrard
I'm curious how to break this card in standard outside of the obvious demonic pact, and maybe priest of the blood rite. That's all I can think of at the moment
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
Swing with the Angel. Play Demonic Pact. Make them discard next Turn. Swing then gift this. Make them lose 8. Play another Pact. Make them lose another 8 next turn on turn 8?
Maybe Grixis Permission Gifts.

Wait, doesn't this card completely violate the reserved list? They've said even colorshifted functional reprint stuff they wouldn't do. What's up?
Just checked the official policy and it doesn't mention color. This card will go from being the worst card in the block to the best if it is indeed a herald of color shifted reserved list cards being printed.

I'd be surprised if they didn't throw in at least one combo to go with this in limited so its not a totally dead card. And I mean something relatively game winning, not just a mindwrack demon

I'm all for that personally but MaRo has stated that color shifting 'violates the spirit of the reserved list' and so does functional reprinting. This is both.

Someone on Tumblr mentioned Goldnight Castigator. Mindwrack Demon is also fairly reasonable. Assault Formation can be theoretically annoying, I guess. Give Avaricious Dragon to a control deck to take them off counterspells? Kothophed if you want to get overly clever? Priest of the Blood Rite? There aren't really a lot of actively detrimental cards in Standard at the moment...
