Yeah, it exiling the creature from the Graveyard already removes any abusable/repeatable combos.
Even with Sharuum the Hegemon, it's not really abusable. The 1 trick pony really makes this not worth using anywhere over the infinite better Resurrection spells.
As really funny aside, this card is (somewhat) hilerious with Nighthowler. Sense Nighthowler ability is not a CDA, the token on creation dies immidiaitely I believe. And you get a flying Nighthowler (ironically that because you exile 1 and the flier itself is a 1/1 the Nighthowler statline is exactly the same)
Pitch Emrakul, Aeons Torn EOOT, activate for 5, have a 16 total power and a Flying, Protected Annihilator 6 on your upkeep. Just need a reliablbly free discard outlet.
"When Emrakul is put into a graveyard from anywhere, its owner shuffles his or her graveyard into his or her library."
And your point is...
Never mind, you're wanting to respond to the trigger.
could be good with Second Harvest but this does not seem competitive. If it didn't sacrifice it would have been fringe playable and not as broken as they think.
Hahaha I want to use this on Grave Titan xD. Make a 6/6 zombie and a 1/1 flier who makes more zombies
It's pretty amazing with any of the Titans. I think Inferno might actually be my favorite: a little 1/1 with evasion that deals 3 damage to the target of your choice whenever it swings in. And brings a 6/6 friend along for the ride.
My favorite target, though? Probably Worldspine Wurm. The 15/15 Zombie is bad enough, but if you even THINK about killing off the 1/1 soul... look out! As others have said, original Emrakul would be awesome as well, and funny too. I can picture a tiny little Emrakul flying around screaming "fear me, mortals!" in a high-pitched voice.
At a guess, the lack of repeatability probably has more to do with memory/gameplay issues than power level concerns (though a repeatable version that cost what it does right now would probably be standard playable, if only because it could own the midrange matchup). Imagine a match where your opponent has activated this three times, and then lost two of the bodies and one of the spirits. How do you even keep track of who has what without writing tiny paragraphs on pieces of paper?

RIP Batman guy. I hope somebody picks up the slack now that you are gone. Sick children need their Batman.
Let me see if I understand this. If I exile a Solemn Simulacrum I get a copy that's a 1/1 Spirit with Flying AND I get a 2/2 Zombie? Seems really sweet for casual.
Oooh it sacs itself, still pretty neat though.

The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.
In what universe? If you build a deck like that, and ever draw that hand, I will personally come to wherever you live, perform complicated acts of awestruck ********, then disembowel myself to escape the world that allowed something like this to occur and validate you.
I think the people who are saying this is jank are undervaluing the card, at least for Standard. Sure it's 8 cost but it's split in 3 and 5 so you don't actually have to pay 8 on one turn. That does matter. Also with it being a permanent and no qualifying text to say use at sorcery speed this is essentially a instant uncounterable reanimate spell when it's on the board. It's a conditionally good card that will work in specific decks, but still better than what some here are giving it credit for.

People are complaining about the sacrifice part of this because expectations raised by its being an artifact. But this would always be a one-shot kind of effect that they'd put in a sorcery or instant.
I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.
Perhaps people were just influenced by the likes of Minion Reflector that they expect artifacts have more staying power... but in fairness these tokens stay on until they get removed. It's sorta still silly in flavor the machine breaks after one-use (it's that prototype janky, really?)
This card is like an inverse Mimeoplasm in some ways, if you think about it.

I was super excited about the card even though it sacrificed itself. That is until I read it only hits your yard. Oh well.
Yeah, I could forgive the sacrifice if it hit any yard. As is, both feel like drawbacks to the card ya know?
