This is a good card, I like it, a reverse Tree of Redemption, EDH will like. This can be good in Limited/Constructed if you can shrink it, otherwise its an auto 7 damage.
I'd also like to point out this is the kind of variation-reprint that is clever and well done, to contrast against the kind of hate I heap on cards like blightsteel colossus where its just detracting from the original with low effort. This complements the giving tree and mirrors it with a far different application with just the change of a few words, and has a good name to boot. I wish that whenever wizards tapped into old content to put a new twist, it turned out like this.
This is a really cool card. First time you use it, it really blasts an opponents life total down... Second time you use it, it's an upgraded tree of redemption to boost your own life total.
*Edit* Nevermind, I rtfc and it kinda says 'opponent'... whoops.

It only affects the opponent not both players so you can't exchange your life total and the tree's toughness.

Ya, I realized that (probably about the time you were writing your response lol). I'm kinda sad now, that would've been nice. Still an awesome card though.
I'm not even sure this is a trash mythic. Assault Formation stays in the format until october, and Triskaidekaphobia remains as long as this is in standard. Maybe the synergy is good enough?
Just for giggles, what happens if someone taps this targeting their opponent and in response you kill this creature? That opponent would just straight up die, or does the effect get countered since it has no toughness to check against?
This could easily be broken. Turn to Frog combos nicely (and turns off avacyn before a creature dies) with Triskaidekaphobia and Assault Formation as alternatives. The mana base allows you to play pain lands to protect yourself from triskaidekaphobia and Cryptolith Fragment can do the same while also finishing the game if you pull off the frog combo. Obviously the hard part is protecting the combo, but I think that this deck is basically being forced by wizards.

Hey now, Blightsteel is fine in multiplayer games where the threat of it getting stolen makes you wonder which one you'd rather run and in Commander, you could always run both. Darksteel is also better sometimes if Blightsteel is your only infect dude. If it gets removed before getting 10 in, you haven't done anything where Darksteel gets in for damage anyway. The printing of Blightsteel hasn't really detracted from my enjoyment of the original. What has detracted from it for quite a while is that it can't be reanimated like new Emrakul. At least Worldspine can do the cool sac for Natural Order, search it out again trick and be reanimated with instants/abilities.
EDIT: Cause I like making friends.
Yes.

That doesnt work. The tree has to stick around to complete the exchange.
