As fun as this card is (and a lot more potent than Tree of Redemption generally speaking) with all those fun combos, unfortunately I think realistically they're too clunky for anything outside of casual.
Except for EDH, of course. 27 life vs 7 life is a lot of difference when the card is put in a vacuum of each format. Even as a standalone in EDH, the card is brutal in the format.
Triskaidekaphobia doesn't work as well as people are thinking it does the life loss/gain trigger happens then it checks if lifetotal is equal to 13 so if you use tree to put them to 13 they will be 12/14 when the Triskaidekaphobia trigger resolves

Pretty sure that's the opposite of true.

“Tell me who you walk with, and I'll tell you who you are.” Esmeralda Santiago Art is life itself.
Any card that combos with triskaidekaphobia is A-ok to me. I ran a Tree of Redemption deck back when Innistrad was legal in standard and it was a blast(didn't win a lot, but ehhh), so I cant wait to make a standard deck of this!
Having said that though, I am more happy that this isn't an Eldrazi tree.
nope. if one of the targets of a life exchange is not there anymore when it resolves (since the frog is a completly new creature) it fizzles and nothing happens.
the only thin you could do is to lower the life of the tree to 1 someway different, and than twitch it with the opponent. that would work.

Excuse me, but what exaclty would have been different if it would have been en "eldrazi horror tree"? are you seriously so stubborn, that you hate a card JUST because it has eldrazi written on it, with no other reason at all?^^
Cheesy Modern deck based on forcing draws with triskaidekaphobia sounds fun. Play both trees, hand disruption and removal until you get all three cards out and enforce a draw a few turns after

You win target thread. If you aren't Atrius, Atrius wins that thread instead. "Wait, can you actually win a thread?" - Atrius.

Is this true? Turn to Frog makes it an entirely new creature? I thought this was only true for clone/blink effects
those saying it'll be great in edh... wtf game are you playing? it'll die before it does anything almost every single time. its okay in a super *****ty casual build if you can get it into the yard with necrotic ooze having been out already, or maybe if you give it haste... and uh... can already swing for lethal? toughness matters decks? basically any time this thing isn't eating a wrath or removal, you've already got your edh game locked up and don't need it. basically, if you can kill me by making my life total 13, i had already lost the game. if you can't kill me after using this thing's ability, i don't care because i'll just combo out on my turn or something.
its fun and flavorful, but its not really as great in edh as you think.
Blink makes something a new object because it changes zones. I think that's where the confusion is. Turning something into a frog makes it a new object flavorwise, but not gameplay wise.

Phenax disagrees after tree mills you for 13-40.
...uh... go for it?
a lot of decks use the yard as a toolbox already. it still has to tap to activate, meaning a full turn in most cases for it to die to a board wipe, or spot removal, or you know, get ignored because life total is irrelevant unless you've got lethal already, and mill is irrelevant unless you get rid of every single combo piece. yeah yeah, but leyline of the void! hoops. you have to jump through hoops and it doesn't end the game immediately. overrated junk bin mythic, just like the first tree, which many people were saying would be great in edh because it could consistently reset your life total to avoid losing. seriously, this thing is flavorful but won't see play in all but the casualest of casual edh decks.

wtf game are YOU playing? If I corpse dance this tree with Ayli out, isn't that kind of good?

Doran, the Siege Tower says hi.

You can't figure it out?
I'll grant you that Doran doesn't combo with it all that well, but Assault Formation can let a creature with defender attack for G.
But what if I pay the G in Assault Formation?
I'm going to hate enjoying this card.

Exactly!!!! Just with the new card was a treefolk, but I will take a plant.
might want to reread that middle line of text on assault formation. but yes, Doran just makes it an incredible (vanilla) blocker.
